Alleluia, a Psalm of Aggaeus and Zacharias. My soul, praise the Lord.
Ps 146:1
Praise YahThe Lord,
for it is good to sing praises to our God;
for it is pleasant and fitting to praise him.

Praise Yahweh, my soul.
2Ps 146:22οἰκοδομῶν Ιερουσαλημ ὁ κύριος καὶ τὰς διασπορὰς τοῦ Ισραηλ ἐπισυνάξειPs 146:2
While I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
Ps 146:2
YahwehThe Lord builds up Jerusalem.
He gathers together the outcastsdiaspora of Israel.

While I live, I will praise Yahweh.
I will sing praises to my God as long as I exist.
3Ps 146:33ὁ ἰώμενος τοὺς συντετριμμένους τὴν καρδίαν καὶ δεσμεύων τὰ συντρίμματα αὐτῶνPs 146:3
Trust not in princes, nor in the children of men, in whom there is no safety.
Ps 146:3
Don’t put your trust in princes,
each a son of man in whom there is no help.
Ps 146:3Ps 146:3אַל־תִּבְטְח֥וּ בִנְדִיבִ֑ים בְּבֶן־אָדָ֓ם ׀ שֶׁ֤אֵֽין ל֥וֹ תְשׁוּעָֽה׃Ps 146:3
Don’t put your trust in princes,
each a son of man in whom there is no help.
4Ps 146:44ὁ ἀριθμῶν πλήθη ἄστρων καὶ πᾶσιν αὐτοῖς ὀνόματα καλῶνPs 146:4
His breath shall go forth, and he shall return to his earth; in that day all his thoughts shall perish.
Ps 146:4
His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth.
In that very day, his thoughts perish.
Ps 146:4Ps 146:4תֵּצֵ֣א ר֭וּחוֹ יָשֻׁ֣ב לְאַדְמָת֑וֹ בַּיּ֥וֹם הַ֝ה֗וּא אָבְד֥וּ עֶשְׁתֹּנֹתָֽיו׃Ps 146:4

5Ps 146:55μέγας ὁ κύριος ἡμῶν καὶ μεγάλη ἡ ἰσχὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ τῆς συνέσεως αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἔστιν ἀριθμόςPs 146:5
Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
whose hope is in Yahweh, his God:
Ps 146:5Ps 146:5אַשְׁרֵ֗י שֶׁ֤אֵ֣ל יַעֲקֹ֣ב בְּעֶזְר֑וֹ שִׂ֝בְר֗וֹ עַל־יְהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהָֽיו׃Ps 146:5
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
whose hope is in Yahweh, his God:
6Ps 146:66ἀναλαμβάνων πραεῖς ὁ κύριος ταπεινῶν δὲ ἁμαρτωλοὺς ἕως τῆς γῆςPs 146:6
who made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all things in them: who keeps truth for ever:

Yahweh upholds the humble.The Lord is the one taking up the meek but humbling
He brings thethe sinfulwicked down to the ground.

who made heaven and earth,
the sea, and all that is in them;

7Ps 146:77ἐξάρξατε τῷ κυρίῳ ἐν ἐξομολογήσει ψάλατε τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν ἐν κιθάρᾳPs 146:7
who executes judgment for the wronged: who gives food to the hungry. The Lord looses the fettered ones:

Sing to Yahweh The Lord with thanksgivingone consentª.
Sing praises on the harp to our God,

the Lord gives wisdom to the blind: The Lord sets up the broken down: the Lord loves the righteous: the Lord preserves the strangers;

Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind.
Yahweh raises up those who are bowed down.
Yahweh loves the righteous.

Yahweh opens the eyes of the blind.

9Ps 146:99διδόντι τοῖς κτήνεσι τροφὴν αὐτῶν καὶ τοῖς νεοσσοῖς τῶν κοράκων τοῖς ἐπικαλουμένοις αὐτόνPs 146:9
he will relieve the orphan and widow: but will utterly remove the way of sinners.
Ps 146:9
He provides food for the livestockgiving to the animals their food,
and for theto the youngchicks of the ravens when they call.calling upon Him.

Yahweh preserves the foreigners.
He upholds the fatherless and widow,
but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.
10Ps 146:1010οὐκ ἐν τῇ δυναστείᾳ τοῦ ἵππου θελήσει οὐδὲ ἐν ταῖς κνήμαις τοῦ ἀνδρὸς εὐδοκεῖPs 146:10
The Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Sion, to all generations.
Ps 146:10
He doesn’t delight in the strength of the horse.
He takes no pleasure in the legsª of a man.
