ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυιδ κύριε τίς παροικήσει ἐν τῷ σκηνώματί σου καὶ τίς κατασκηνώσει ἐν τῷ ὄρει τῷ ἁγίῳ σου
Ps 14:1
For the end, Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted themselves, and become abominable in their devices; there is none that does goodness, there is not even so much as one.
Ps 14:1
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt.
They have done abominable works.
There is none who does good.
Ps 14:1Ps 14:1לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ לְדָ֫וִ֥ד אָ֘מַ֤ר נָבָ֣ל בְּ֭לִבּוֹ אֵ֣ין אֱלֹהִ֑ים הִֽשְׁחִ֗יתוּ הִֽתְעִ֥יבוּ עֲלִילָ֗ה אֵ֣ין עֹֽשֵׂה־טֽוֹב׃Ps 14:1
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt.
They have done abominable works.
There is none who does good.
2Ps 14:22πορευόμενος ἄμωμος καὶ ἐργαζόμενος δικαιοσύνην λαλῶν ἀλήθειαν ἐν καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦPs 14:2
The Lord looked down from heaven upon the sons of men, to see if there were any that understood, or sought after god.
Ps 14:2
Yahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men,
to see if there were any who did understand,
who did seek after God.
Ps 14:2Ps 14:2יְֽהוָ֗ה מִשָּׁמַיִם֮ הִשְׁקִ֪יף עַֽל־בְּנֵי־אָ֫דָ֥ם לִ֭רְאוֹת הֲיֵ֣שׁ מַשְׂכִּ֑יל דֹּ֝רֵשׁ אֶת־אֱלֹהִֽים׃Ps 14:2
Yahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men,
to see if there were any who did understand,
who did seek after God.
3Ps 14:33ὃς οὐκ ἐδόλωσεν ἐν γλώσσῃ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἐποίησεν τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ κακὸν καὶ ὀνειδισμὸν οὐκ ἔλαβεν ἐπὶ τοὺς ἔγγιστα αὐτοῦPs 14:3
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become good for nothing, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.
Ps 14:3
They have all gone aside.
They have together become corrupt.
There is none who does good, no, not one.
Ps 14:3Ps 14:3הַכֹּ֥ל סָר֮ יַחְדָּ֪ו נֶ֫אֱלָ֥חוּ אֵ֤ין עֹֽשֵׂה־ט֑וֹב אֵ֝֗ין גַּם־אֶחָֽד׃Ps 14:3
They have all gone aside.
They have together become corrupt.
There is none who does good, no, not one.
4Ps 14:44ἐξουδένωται ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ πονηρευόμενος τοὺς δὲ φοβουμένους κύριον δοξάζει ὁ ὀμνύων τῷ πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐκ ἀθετῶνPs 14:4
Will not all the workers of iniquity know, who eat up my people as they would eat bread? they have not called upon the Lord.
Ps 14:4
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
who eat up my people as they eat bread,
and don’t call on Yahweh?
Ps 14:4Ps 14:4הֲלֹ֥א יָדְעוּ֮ כָּל־פֹּ֪עֲלֵ֫י אָ֥וֶן אֹכְלֵ֣י עַ֭מִּי אָ֣כְלוּ לֶ֑חֶם יְ֝הוָ֗ה לֹ֣א קָרָֽאוּ׃Ps 14:4
Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge,
who eat up my people as they eat bread,
and don’t call on Yahweh?
5Ps 14:55τὸ ἀργύριον αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἔδωκεν ἐπὶ τόκῳ καὶ δῶρα ἐπ’ ἀθῴοις οὐκ ἔλαβεν ὁ ποιῶν ταῦτα οὐ σαλευθήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶναPs 14:5
There were they alarmed with fear, where there was no fear; for God is in the righteous generation.
Ps 14:5
There they were in great fear,
for God is in the generation of the righteous.
Ps 14:5Ps 14:5שָׁ֤ם ׀ פָּ֣חֲדוּ פָ֑חַד כִּֽי־אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים בְּד֣וֹר צַדִּֽיק׃Ps 14:5
There they were in great fear,
for God is in the generation of the righteous.
