I am the Lord your God: ye shall not make to yourselves gods made with hands, or graven; neither shall ye rear up a pillar for yourselves, neither shall ye set up a stone for an object in your land to worship it: I am the Lord your God.
Lv 26:1¶“‘You shall make for yourselves no idols, neither shall you raise up an engraved image or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am Yahweh your God.You shall not make handmade idols to yourselves, nor carved images, neither will you stand up steles to yourselves, neither will you put up stone watchmen in your land to bow to it.

¶“‘You shall make for yourselves no idols, neither shall you raise up an engraved image or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am Yahweh your God.
2Lv 26:22τὰ σάββατά μου φυλάξεσθε καὶ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁγίων μου φοβηθήσεσθε ἐγώ εἰμι κύριοςLv 26:2
Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuaries: I am the Lord.

If ye will walk in my ordinances, and keep my commandments, and do them,

4Lv 26:44καὶ δώσω τὸν ὑετὸν ὑμῖν ἐν καιρῷ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἡ γῆ δώσει τὰ γενήματα αὐτῆς καὶ τὰ ξύλα τῶν πεδίων ἀποδώσει τὸν καρπὸν αὐτῶνLv 26:4
then will I give you the rain in its season, and the land shall produce its fruits, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

5Lv 26:55καὶ καταλήμψεται ὑμῖν ὁ ἀλοητὸς τὸν τρύγητον καὶ ὁ τρύγητος καταλήμψεται τὸν σπόρον καὶ φάγεσθε τὸν ἄρτον ὑμῶν εἰς πλησμονὴν καὶ κατοικήσετε μετὰ ἀσφαλείας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ὑμῶνLv 26:5
And your threshing time shall overtake the vintage, and your vintage shall overtake your seed time; and ye shall eat your bread to the full; and ye shall dwell safely upon your land, and war shall not go through your land.
Lv 26:5
Your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

6Lv 26:66καὶ πόλεμος οὐ διελεύσεται διὰ τῆς γῆς ὑμῶν καὶ δώσω εἰρήνην ἐν τῇ γῇ ὑμῶν καὶ κοιμηθήσεσθε καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὑμᾶς ὁ ἐκφοβῶν καὶ ἀπολῶ θηρία πονηρὰ ἐκ τῆς γῆς ὑμῶνLv 26:6
And I will give peace in your land, and ye shall sleep, and none shall make you afraid; and I will destroy the evil beasts out of your land,

¶“‘I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one will make you afraid; and I will remove evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

¶“‘I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one will make you afraid; and I will remove evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
7Lv 26:77καὶ διώξεσθε τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ὑμῶν καὶ πεσοῦνται ἐναντίον ὑμῶν φόνῳLv 26:7
and ye shall pursue your enemies, and they shall fall before you with slaughter.

You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8Lv 26:88καὶ διώξονται ἐξ ὑμῶν πέντε ἑκατόν καὶ ἑκατὸν ὑμῶν διώξονται μυριάδας καὶ πεσοῦνται οἱ ἐχθροὶ ὑμῶν ἐναντίον ὑμῶν μαχαίρᾳLv 26:8
And five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase tens of thousands; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

9Lv 26:99καὶ ἐπιβλέψω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς καὶ αὐξανῶ ὑμᾶς καὶ πληθυνῶ ὑμᾶς καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου μεθ’ ὑμῶνLv 26:9
And I will look upon you, and increase you, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.

¶“‘I will have respect for you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you.

10Lv 26:1010καὶ φάγεσθε παλαιὰ καὶ παλαιὰ παλαιῶν καὶ παλαιὰ ἐκ προσώπου νέων ἐξοίσετεLv 26:10
And ye shall eat that which is old and very old, and bring forth the old to make way for the new.

You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall move out the old because of the new.

11Lv 26:1111καὶ θήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου ἐν ὑμῖν καὶ οὐ βδελύξεται ἡ ψυχή μου ὑμᾶςLv 26:11
And I will set my tabernacle among you, and my soul shall not abhor you;

and I will walk among you, and be your God, and ye shall be my people.

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, where ye were slaves; and I broke the band of your yoke, and brought you forth openly.

Lv 26:15and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant;but disobey them and my judgments, the life of you will be vexed so that you can not do all of my precepts so that you will disperse my covenant to the wind

then will I do thus to you: I will even bring upon you perplexity and the itch, and the fever that causes your eyes to waste away, and disease that consumes your life; and ye shall sow your seeds in vain, and your enemies shall eat them.
Lv 26:16I also will do this to you: I will appoint terrorperplexityª over you, even consumption and jaundice fever, that shall consume the eyes, and your eyes will suffer and make the soul to pine away; and you will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.

17Lv 26:1717καὶ ἐπιστήσω τὸ πρόσωπόν μου ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς καὶ πεσεῖσθε ἐναντίον τῶν ἐχθρῶν ὑμῶν καὶ διώξονται ὑμᾶς οἱ μισοῦντες ὑμᾶς καὶ φεύξεσθε οὐθενὸς διώκοντος ὑμᾶςLv 26:17
And I will set my face against you, and ye shall fall before your enemies, and they that hate you shall pursue you; and ye shall flee, no one pursuing you.

And if ye still refuse to hearken to me, then will I chasten you yet more even seven times for your sins.

¶“‘If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

19Lv 26:1919καὶ συντρίψω τὴν ὕβριν τῆς ὑπερηφανίας ὑμῶν καὶ θήσω τὸν οὐρανὸν ὑμῖν σιδηροῦν καὶ τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν ὡσεὶ χαλκῆνLv 26:19
And I will break down the haughtiness of your pride; and I will make your heaven iron, and your earth as it were brass.

I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron, and your soil like brass;
Lv 26:19Lv 26:19וְשָׁבַרְתִּ֖י אֶת־גְּא֣וֹן עֻזְּכֶ֑ם וְנָתַתִּ֤י אֶת־שְׁמֵיכֶם֙ כַּבַּרְזֶ֔ל וְאֶֽת־אַרְצְכֶ֖ם כַּנְּחֻשָֽׁה׃Lv 26:19
I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron, and your soil like brass;
20Lv 26:2020καὶ ἔσται εἰς κενὸν ἡ ἰσχὺς ὑμῶν καὶ οὐ δώσει ἡ γῆ ὑμῶν τὸν σπόρον αὐτῆς καὶ τὸ ξύλον τοῦ ἀγροῦ ὑμῶν οὐ δώσει τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦLv 26:20
And your strength shall be in vain; and your land shall not yield its seed, and the tree of your field shall not yield its fruit.

and your strength will be spent in vain; for your land won’t yield its increase, neither will the trees of the land yield their fruit.

And if after this ye should walk perversely, and not be willing to obey me, I will further bring upon you seven plagues according to your sins.

¶“‘If you walk contrary to me, and won’t listen to me, then I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.

¶“‘If you walk contrary to me, and won’t listen to me, then I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.
22Lv 26:2222καὶ ἀποστελῶ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς τὰ θηρία τὰ ἄγρια τῆς γῆς καὶ κατέδεται ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐξαναλώσει τὰ κτήνη ὑμῶν καὶ ὀλιγοστοὺς ποιήσει ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐρημωθήσονται αἱ ὁδοὶ ὑμῶνLv 26:22
And I will send upon you the wild beasts of the land, and they shall devour you, and shall consume your cattle: and I will make you few in number, and your ways shall be desolate.
Lv 26:22
I will send the wild animals among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your roads will become desolate.

I will send the wild animals among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your roads will become desolate.
23Lv 26:2323καὶ ἐπὶ τούτοις ἐὰν μὴ παιδευθῆτε ἀλλὰ πορεύησθε πρός με πλάγιοιLv 26:23
And if hereupon ye are not corrected, but walk perversely towards me,

24Lv 26:2424πορεύσομαι κἀγὼ μεθ’ ὑμῶν θυμῷ πλαγίῳ καὶ πατάξω ὑμᾶς κἀγὼ ἑπτάκις ἀντὶ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν ὑμῶνLv 26:24
I also will walk with you with a perverse spirit, and I also will smite you seven times for your sins.

then I will also walk contrary to you; and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your sins.

25Lv 26:2525καὶ ἐπάξω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς μάχαιραν ἐκδικοῦσαν δίκην διαθήκης καὶ καταφεύξεσθε εἰς τὰς πόλεις ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ θάνατον εἰς ὑμᾶς καὶ παραδοθήσεσθε εἰς χεῖρας ἐχθρῶνLv 26:25
And I will bring upon you a sword avenging the cause of my covenant, and ye shall flee for refuge to your cities; and I will send out death against you, and ye shall be delivered into the hands of your enemies.

I will bring a sword upon you, that will execute the vengeance of the covenant; and you will be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and you will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

When I afflict you with famine of bread, then ten women shall bake your loaves in one oven, and they shall render your loaves by weight; and ye shall eat, and not be satisfied.

28Lv 26:2828καὶ αὐτὸς πορεύσομαι μεθ’ ὑμῶν ἐν θυμῷ πλαγίῳ καὶ παιδεύσω ὑμᾶς ἐγὼ ἑπτάκις κατὰ τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶνLv 26:28
then will I walk with you with a froward mind, and I will chasten you seven-fold according to your sins.

then I will walk contrary to you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

And ye shall eat the flesh of your sons, and the flesh of your daughters shall ye eat.

30Lv 26:3030καὶ ἐρημώσω τὰς στήλας ὑμῶν καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω τὰ ξύλινα χειροποίητα ὑμῶν καὶ θήσω τὰ κῶλα ὑμῶν ἐπὶ τὰ κῶλα τῶν εἰδώλων ὑμῶν καὶ προσοχθιεῖ ἡ ψυχή μου ὑμῖνLv 26:30
And I will render your pillars desolate, and will utterly destroy your wooden images made with hands; and I will lay your carcases on the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall loathe you.

31Lv 26:3131καὶ θήσω τὰς πόλεις ὑμῶν ἐρήμους καὶ ἐξερημώσω τὰ ἅγια ὑμῶν καὶ οὐ μὴ ὀσφρανθῶ τῆς ὀσμῆς τῶν θυσιῶν ὑμῶνLv 26:31
And I will lay your cities waste, and I will make your sanctuaries desolate, and I will not smell the savour of your sacrifices.

I will lay your cities waste, and will bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not take delight in the sweet fragrance of your offerings.

32Lv 26:3232καὶ ἐξερημώσω ἐγὼ τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν καὶ θαυμάσονται ἐπ’ αὐτῇ οἱ ἐχθροὶ ὑμῶν οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐν αὐτῇLv 26:32
And I will lay your land desolate, and your enemies who dwell in it shall wonder at it.
Lv 26:32
I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell therein will be astonished at it.

I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell therein will be astonished at it.
33Lv 26:3333καὶ διασπερῶ ὑμᾶς εἰς τὰ ἔθνη καὶ ἐξαναλώσει ὑμᾶς ἐπιπορευομένη ἡ μάχαιρα καὶ ἔσται ἡ γῆ ὑμῶν ἔρημος καὶ αἱ πόλεις ὑμῶν ἔσονται ἔρημοιLv 26:33
And I will scatter you among the nations, and the sword shall come upon you and consume you; and your land shall be desolate, and your cities shall be desolate.
Lv 26:33
I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land will be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.
Lv 26:33Lv 26:33וְאֶתְכֶם֙ אֱזָרֶ֣ה בַגּוֹיִ֔ם וַהֲרִיקֹתִ֥י אַחֲרֵיכֶ֖ם חָ֑רֶב וְהָיְתָ֤ה אַרְצְכֶם֙ שְׁמָמָ֔ה וְעָרֵיכֶ֖ם יִהְי֥וּ חָרְבָּֽה׃Lv 26:33
I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land will be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.
34Lv 26:3434τότε εὐδοκήσει ἡ γῆ τὰ σάββατα αὐτῆς καὶ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ἐρημώσεως αὐτῆς καὶ ὑμεῖς ἔσεσθε ἐν τῇ γῇ τῶν ἐχθρῶν ὑμῶν τότε σαββατιεῖ ἡ γῆ καὶ εὐδοκήσει τὰ σάββατα αὐτῆςLv 26:34
Then the land shall enjoy its sabbaths all the days of its desolation.
Lv 26:34
Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land. Even then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.

Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land. Even then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.
35Lv 26:3535πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ἐρημώσεως αὐτῆς σαββατιεῖ ἃ οὐκ ἐσαββάτισεν ἐν τοῖς σαββάτοις ὑμῶν ἡνίκα κατῳκεῖτε αὐτήνLv 26:35
And ye shall be in the land of your enemies; then the land shall keep its sabbaths, and the land shall enjoy its sabbaths all the days of its desolation: it shall keep sabbaths which it kept not among your sabbaths, when ye dwelt in it.
Lv 26:35
As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it didn’t have in your sabbaths, when you lived on it.

36Lv 26:3636καὶ τοῖς καταλειφθεῖσιν ἐξ ὑμῶν ἐπάξω δειλίαν εἰς τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ γῇ τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ διώξεται αὐτοὺς φωνὴ φύλλου φερομένου καὶ φεύξονται ὡς φεύγοντες ἀπὸ πολέμου καὶ πεσοῦνται οὐθενὸς διώκοντοςLv 26:36
And to those who are left of you I will bring bondage into their heart in the land of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them, and they shall flee as fleeing from war, and shall fall when none pursues them.

¶“‘As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they will fall when no one pursues.

¶“‘As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they will fall when no one pursues.
37Lv 26:3737καὶ ὑπερόψεται ὁ ἀδελφὸς τὸν ἀδελφὸν ὡσεὶ ἐν πολέμῳ οὐθενὸς κατατρέχοντος καὶ οὐ δυνήσεσθε ἀντιστῆναι τοῖς ἐχθροῖς ὑμῶνLv 26:37
And brother shall disregard brother as in war, when none pursues; and ye shall not be able to withstand your enemies.

They will stumble over one another, as it were before the sword, when no one pursues: and you will have no power to stand before your enemies.

They will stumble over one another, as it were before the sword, when no one pursues: and you will have no power to stand before your enemies.
38Lv 26:3838καὶ ἀπολεῖσθε ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν καὶ κατέδεται ὑμᾶς ἡ γῆ τῶν ἐχθρῶν ὑμῶνLv 26:38
And ye shall perish among the Gentiles, and the land of your enemies shall devour you.

You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will eat you up.

You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will eat you up.
39Lv 26:3939καὶ οἱ καταλειφθέντες ἀφ’ ὑμῶν καταφθαρήσονται διὰ τὰς ἁμαρτίας ὑμῶν ἐν τῇ γῇ τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν τακήσονταιLv 26:39
And those who are left of you shall perish, because of their sins, and because of the sins of their fathers: in the land of their enemies shall they consume away.

Those of you who are left will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

Those of you who are left will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.
40Lv 26:4040καὶ ἐξαγορεύσουσιν τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν καὶ τὰς ἁμαρτίας τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν ὅτι παρέβησαν καὶ ὑπερεῖδόν με καὶ ὅτι ἐπορεύθησαν ἐναντίον μου πλάγιοιLv 26:40
And they shall confess their sins, and the sins of their fathers, that they have transgressed and neglected me, and that they have walked perversely before me,

¶“‘If they confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me,
Lv 26:40Lv 26:40וְהִתְוַדּ֤וּ אֶת־עֲוֹנָם֙ וְאֶת־עֲוֹ֣ן אֲבֹתָ֔ם בְּמַעֲלָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר מָֽעֲלוּ־בִ֑י וְאַ֕ף אֲשֶׁר־הָֽלְכ֥וּ עִמִּ֖י בְּקֶֽרִי׃Lv 26:40
¶“‘If they confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me,
41Lv 26:4141καὶ ἐγὼ ἐπορεύθην μετ’ αὐτῶν ἐν θυμῷ πλαγίῳ καὶ ἀπολῶ αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ γῇ τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν τότε ἐντραπήσεται ἡ καρδία αὐτῶν ἡ ἀπερίτμητος καὶ τότε εὐδοκήσουσιν τὰς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶνLv 26:41
and I walked with them with a perverse mind; and I will destroy them in the land of their enemies: then shall their uncircumcised heart be ashamed, and then shall they acquiesce in the punishment of their sins.

I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity;

I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity;
42Lv 26:4242καὶ μνησθήσομαι τῆς διαθήκης Ιακωβ καὶ τῆς διαθήκης Ισαακ καὶ τῆς διαθήκης Αβρααμ μνησθήσομαι καὶ τῆς γῆς μνησθήσομαιLv 26:42
And I will remember the covenant of Jacob, and the covenant of Isaac, and the covenant of Abraam will I remember.

then I will remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land.

then I will remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land.
43Lv 26:4343καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐγκαταλειφθήσεται ὑπ’ αὐτῶν τότε προσδέξεται ἡ γῆ τὰ σάββατα αὐτῆς ἐν τῷ ἐρημωθῆναι αὐτὴν δι’ αὐτούς καὶ αὐτοὶ προσδέξονται τὰς αὐτῶν ἀνομίας ἀνθ’ ὧν τὰ κρίματά μου ὑπερεῖδον καὶ τοῖς προστάγμασίν μου προσώχθισαν τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτῶνLv 26:43
And I will remember the land, and the land shall be left of them; then the land shall enjoy her sabbaths, when it is deserted through them: and they shall accept the punishment of their iniquities, because they neglected my judgments, and in their soul loathed my ordinances.

The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them: and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

44Lv 26:4444καὶ οὐδ’ ὧς ὄντων αὐτῶν ἐν τῇ γῇ τῶν ἐχθρῶν αὐτῶν οὐχ ὑπερεῖδον αὐτοὺς οὐδὲ προσώχθισα αὐτοῖς ὥστε ἐξαναλῶσαι αὐτοὺς τοῦ διασκεδάσαι τὴν διαθήκην μου τὴν πρὸς αὐτούς ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεὸς αὐτῶνLv 26:44
And yet not even thus, while they were in the land of their enemies, did I overlook them, nor did I loathe them so as to consume them, to break my covenant made with them; for I am the Lord their God.

Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God;

45Lv 26:4545καὶ μνησθήσομαι αὐτῶν τῆς διαθήκης τῆς προτέρας ὅτε ἐξήγαγον αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ἐξ οἴκου δουλείας ἔναντι τῶν ἐθνῶν τοῦ εἶναι αὐτῶν θεός ἐγώ εἰμι κύριοςLv 26:45
And I will remember their former covenant, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage before the nation, to be their God; I am the Lord.

but I will for their sake remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am Yahweh.’”

These are my judgments and my ordinances, and the law which the Lord gave between himself and the children of Israel, in the mount Sina, by the hand of Moses.

¶These are the statutes, ordinances and laws, which Yahweh made between him and the children of Israel in Mount Sinai by Moses.
