Jb 3:1Jb 3:1אַחֲרֵי־כֵ֗ן פָּתַ֤ח אִיּוֹב֙ אֶת־פִּ֔יהוּ וַיְקַלֵּ֖ל אֶת־יוֹמֽוֹ׃ פ Jb 3:1
¶After this Job opened his mouth, and cursed the day of his birth.
2Jb 3:22καὶ κατηράσατο τὴν ἡμέραν αὐτοῦ λέγωνJb 3:2
saying,

Job answered:
3Jb 3:33ἀπόλοιτο ἡ ἡμέρα ἐν ᾗ ἐγεννήθην καὶ ἡ νύξ ἐν ᾗ εἶπαν ἰδοὺ ἄρσενJb 3:3
Let the day perish in which I was born, and that night in which they said, Behold a man-child!

the night which said, ‘There is a boy conceived.’

4Jb 3:44ἡ ἡμέρα ἐκείνη εἴη σκότος καὶ μὴ ἀναζητήσαι αὐτὴν ὁ κύριος ἄνωθεν μηδὲ ἔλθοι εἰς αὐτὴν φέγγοςJb 3:4
Let that night be darkness, and let not the Lord regard it from above, neither let light come upon it.

Let that day be darkness.
Don’t let God from above seek for it,
neither let the light shine on it.

Let that day be darkness.
Don’t let God from above seek for it,

But let darkness and the shadow of death seize it; let blackness come upon it;

Let darkness and the shadow of death claim it for their own.

6Jb 3:66καταραθείη ἡ ἡμέρα καὶ ἡ νὺξ ἐκείνη ἀπενέγκαιτο αὐτὴν σκότος μὴ εἴη εἰς ἡμέρας ἐνιαυτοῦ μηδὲ ἀριθμηθείη εἰς ἡμέρας μηνῶνJb 3:6
let that day and night be cursed, let darkness carry them away; let it not come into the days of the year, neither let it be numbered with the days of the months.

As for that night, let thick darkness seize on it.
Let it not rejoice among the days of the year.
Let it not come into the number of the months.

As for that night, let thick darkness seize on it.

7Jb 3:77ἀλλὰ ἡ νὺξ ἐκείνη εἴη ὀδύνη καὶ μὴ ἔλθοι ἐπ’ αὐτὴν εὐφροσύνη μηδὲ χαρμονήJb 3:7
But let that night be pain, and let not mirth come upon it, nor joy.
Jb 3:7
Behold, let that night be barren.
Let no joyful voice come therein.
Jb 3:7Jb 3:7הִנֵּ֤ה הַלַּ֣יְלָה הַ֭הוּא יְהִ֣י גַלְמ֑וּד אַל־תָּבֹ֖א רְנָנָ֣ה בֽוֹ׃Jb 3:7
Behold, let that night be barren.
Let no joyful voice come therein.
8Jb 3:88ἀλλὰ καταράσαιτο αὐτὴν ὁ καταρώμενος τὴν ἡμέραν ἐκείνην ὁ μέλλων τὸ μέγα κῆτος χειρώσασθαιJb 3:8
But let him that curses that day curse it, even he that is ready to attack the great whale.

Let them curse it who curse the day,
who are ready to rouse up leviathan.
Jb 3:8Jb 3:8יִקְּבֻ֥הוּ אֹרְרֵי־י֑וֹם הָ֝עֲתִידִ֗ים עֹרֵ֥ר לִוְיָתָֽן׃Jb 3:8
Let them curse it who curse the day,
who are ready to rouse up leviathan.
9Jb 3:99σκοτωθείη τὰ ἄστρα τῆς νυκτὸς ἐκείνης ὑπομείναι καὶ εἰς φωτισμὸν μὴ ἔλθοι καὶ μὴ ἴδοι ἑωσφόρον ἀνατέλλονταJb 3:9
Let the stars of that night be darkened; let it remain dark, and not come into light; and let it not see the morning star arise:

Let the stars of its twilight be dark.
Let it look for light, but have none,
neither let it see the eyelids of the morning,Let it be darkened the stars of that night and of that let it endure and into illumination may it not come so as to not behold the morning star rising.

Now I should have lain down and been quiet, I should have slept and been at rest,
