Who is this that is come from Edom, with red garments from Bosor? thus fair in his apparel, with mighty strength? I speak of righteousness and saving judgment.

Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this who is glorious in his clothing, marching in the greatness of his strength?
“It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”

Who is this who comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this who is glorious in his clothing, marching in the greatness of his strength?
“It is I who speak in righteousness, mighty to save.”
2Is 63:22διὰ τί σου ἐρυθρὰ τὰ ἱμάτια καὶ τὰ ἐνδύματά σου ὡς ἀπὸ πατητοῦ ληνοῦIs 63:2
Wherefore are thy garments red, and thy raiment as if fresh from a trodden winepress?
Is 63:2
Why are you red in your clothing, and your garments like him who treads in the wine vat?

3Is 63:33πλήρης καταπεπατημένης καὶ τῶν ἐθνῶν οὐκ ἔστιν ἀνὴρ μετ’ ἐμοῦ καὶ κατεπάτησα αὐτοὺς ἐν θυμῷ καὶ κατέθλασα αὐτοὺς ὡς γῆν καὶ κατήγαγον τὸ αἷμα αὐτῶν εἰς γῆνIs 63:3
I am full of trodden grape, and of the nations there is not a man with me; and I trampled them in my fury, and dashed them to pieces as earth, and brought down their blood to the earth.

“I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yes, I trod them in my anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I have stained all my clothing.

“I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yes, I trod them in my anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled on my garments, and I have stained all my clothing.
4Is 63:44ἡμέρα γὰρ ἀνταποδόσεως ἐπῆλθεν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐνιαυτὸς λυτρώσεως πάρεστινIs 63:4
For the day of recompence has come upon them, and the year of redemption is at hand.
Is 63:4
For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

5Is 63:55καὶ ἐπέβλεψα καὶ οὐδεὶς βοηθός καὶ προσενόησα καὶ οὐθεὶς ἀντελαμβάνετο καὶ ἐρρύσατο αὐτοὺς ὁ βραχίων μου καὶ ὁ θυμός μου ἐπέστηIs 63:5
And I looked, and there was no helper; and I observed, and none upheld: therefore my arm delivered them, and mine anger drew nigh.

I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore my own arm brought salvation to me; and my wrath, it upheld me.

I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore my own arm brought salvation to me; and my wrath, it upheld me.
6Is 63:66καὶ κατεπάτησα αὐτοὺς τῇ ὀργῇ μου καὶ κατήγαγον τὸ αἷμα αὐτῶν εἰς γῆνIs 63:6

7Is 63:77τὸν ἔλεον κυρίου ἐμνήσθην τὰς ἀρετὰς κυρίου ἐν πᾶσιν οἷς ὁ κύριος ἡμῖν ἀνταποδίδωσιν κύριος κριτὴς ἀγαθὸς τῷ οἴκῳ Ισραηλ ἐπάγει ἡμῖν κατὰ τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ καὶ κατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῆς δικαιοσύνης αὐτοῦIs 63:7
I remembered the mercy of the Lord, the praises of the Lord in all things wherein he recompenses us. The Lord is a good judge to the house of Israel; he deals with us according to his mercy, and according to the abundance of his righteousness.

I will make mention of the loving kindnesses of Yahweh, and the praises of Yahweh, according to all that Yahweh has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

I will make mention of the loving kindnesses of Yahweh, and the praises of Yahweh, according to all that Yahweh has bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
8Is 63:88καὶ εἶπεν οὐχ ὁ λαός μου τέκνα οὐ μὴ ἀθετήσωσιν καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῖς εἰς σωτηρίανIs 63:8
And he said, Is it not my people? the children surely will not be rebellious: and he became to them deliverance
Is 63:8
For he said, “Surely, they are my people, children who will not deal falsely:” so he was their Savior.
Is 63:8Is 63:8וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אַךְ־עַמִּ֣י הֵ֔מָּה בָּנִ֖ים לֹ֣א יְשַׁקֵּ֑רוּ וַיְהִ֥י לָהֶ֖ם לְמוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃Is 63:8
For he said, “Surely, they are my people, children who will not deal falsely:” so he was their Savior.
9Is 63:99ἐκ πάσης θλίψεως οὐ πρέσβυς οὐδὲ ἄγγελος ἀλλ’ αὐτὸς κύριος ἔσωσεν αὐτοὺς διὰ τὸ ἀγαπᾶν αὐτοὺς καὶ φείδεσθαι αὐτῶν αὐτὸς ἐλυτρώσατο αὐτοὺς καὶ ἀνέλαβεν αὐτοὺς καὶ ὕψωσεν αὐτοὺς πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τοῦ αἰῶνοςIs 63:9
out of all their affliction: not an ambassador, nor a messenger, but himself saved them, because he loved them and spared them: he himself redeemed them, and took them up, and lifted them up all the days of old.

In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.

Is 63:9
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them, and carried them all the days of old.
10Is 63:1010αὐτοὶ δὲ ἠπείθησαν καὶ παρώξυναν τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐστράφη αὐτοῖς εἰς ἔχθραν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπολέμησεν αὐτούςIs 63:10
But they disobeyed, and provoked his Holy Spirit: so he turned to be an enemy, he himself contended against them.

But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them.

11Is 63:1111καὶ ἐμνήσθη ἡμερῶν αἰωνίων ὁ ἀναβιβάσας ἐκ τῆς γῆς τὸν ποιμένα τῶν προβάτων ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεὶς ἐν αὐτοῖς τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιονIs 63:11
Then he remembered the ancient days, saying, Where is he that brought up from the sea the shepherd of the sheep? where is he that put his Holy Spirit in them?

Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he who put his holy Spirit in the midst of them?
Is 63:11Is 63:11וַיִּזְכֹּ֥ר יְמֵֽי־עוֹלָ֖ם מֹשֶׁ֣ה עַמּ֑וֹ אַיֵּ֣ה ׀ הַֽמַּעֲלֵ֣ם מִיָּ֗ם אֵ֚ת רֹעֵ֣י צֹאנ֔וֹ אַיֵּ֛ה הַשָּׂ֥ם בְּקִרְבּ֖וֹ אֶת־ר֥וּחַ קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃Is 63:11
Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying, Where is he who brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he who put his holy Spirit in the midst of them?
12Is 63:1212ὁ ἀγαγὼν τῇ δεξιᾷ Μωυσῆν ὁ βραχίων τῆς δόξης αὐτοῦ κατίσχυσεν ὕδωρ ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτῷ ὄνομα αἰώνιονIs 63:12
who led Moses with his right hand, the arm of his glory? he forced the water to separate from before him, to make himself an everlasting name.

13Is 63:1313ἤγαγεν αὐτοὺς διὰ τῆς ἀβύσσου ὡς ἵππον δι’ ἐρήμου καὶ οὐκ ἐκοπίασανIs 63:13
He led them through the deep, as a horse through the wilderness, and they fainted not,

who led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they didn’t stumble?

14Is 63:1414καὶ ὡς κτήνη διὰ πεδίου κατέβη πνεῦμα παρὰ κυρίου καὶ ὡδήγησεν αὐτούς οὕτως ἤγαγες τὸν λαόν σου ποιῆσαι σεαυτῷ ὄνομα δόξηςIs 63:14
and as cattle through a plain: the Spirit came down from the Lord, and guided them: thus thou leddest thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

As the livestock that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Yahweh caused them to rest; so you led your people, to make yourself a glorious name.

15Is 63:1515ἐπίστρεψον ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἰδὲ ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ ἁγίου σου καὶ δόξης ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ ζῆλός σου καὶ ἡ ἰσχύς σου ποῦ ἐστιν τὸ πλῆθος τοῦ ἐλέους σου καὶ τῶν οἰκτιρμῶν σου ὅτι ἀνέσχου ἡμῶνIs 63:15
Turn from heaven, and look from thy holy habitation and from thy glory: where is thy zeal and thy strength? where is the abundance of thy mercy and of thy compassions, that thou hast withholden thyself from us?

Look down from heaven, and see from the habitation of your holiness and of your glory: where are your zeal and your mighty acts? the yearning of your heart and your compassion is restrained toward me.

16Is 63:1616σὺ γὰρ ἡμῶν εἶ πατήρ ὅτι Αβρααμ οὐκ ἔγνω ἡμᾶς καὶ Ισραηλ οὐκ ἐπέγνω ἡμᾶς ἀλλὰ σύ κύριε πατὴρ ἡμῶν ῥῦσαι ἡμᾶς ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς τὸ ὄνομά σου ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς ἐστινIs 63:16
For thou art our Father; for though Abraham knew us not, and Israel did not acknowledge us, yet do thou, O Lord, our Father, deliver us: thy name has been upon us from the beginning.
Is 63:16For you are our Father, though Abraham doesn’t know us, and Israel does not acknowledge us: you, Yahweh, are our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is your name.because Abraham did not know us and Israel did not recognize us but you Lord are our Father, deliver us! Why hast thou caused us to err, O Lord, from thy way? and has hardened our hearts, that we should not fear thee? Return for thy servants' sake, for the sake of the tribes of thine inheritance,
Is 63:17O YahwehLord, why do you make us to err from your ways, and harden our heart from your fear? Return for your servants’ sake, the tribes of your inheritance.why did you wander us from your way?
