Hear these words, ye house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of Juda, who swear by the name of the Lord God of Israel, making mention of it, but not with truth, nor with righteousness;
Is 48:1
“Hear this, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of Yahweh, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness
Hear these things house of Jacob, Who calls the name of Israel and from Judah exited who swear the name of Lord God of Israel, who remember not with truth nor with justice.

Is 48:1Is 48:1שִׁמְעוּ־זֹ֣את בֵּֽית־יַעֲקֹ֗ב הַנִּקְרָאִים֙ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וּמִמֵּ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה יָצָ֑אוּ הַֽנִּשְׁבָּעִ֣ים ׀ בְּשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֗ה וּבֵאלֹהֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ יַזְכִּ֔ירוּ לֹ֥א בֶאֱמֶ֖ת וְלֹ֥א בִצְדָקָֽה׃Is 48:1
“Hear this, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and have come forth out of the waters of Judah; who swear by the name of Yahweh, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness
2Is 48:22καὶ ἀντεχόμενοι τῷ ὀνόματι τῆς πόλεως τῆς ἁγίας καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ θεῷ τοῦ Ισραηλ ἀντιστηριζόμενοι κύριος σαβαωθ ὄνομα αὐτῷIs 48:2
maintaining also the name of the holy city, and staying themselves on the God of Israel: the Lord of hosts is his name. The former things I have already declared;
Is 48:2(for they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves on the God of Israel; Yahweh of Armies is his name):
And who obey the name of the holy city and upon the God of Israel lean, Lord Sabaoth is his name.

and they that have proceeded out of my mouth, and it became well known; I wrought suddenly, and the events came to pass.
Is 48:3I have declared the former things from of old; yes, they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them: suddenly I did them, and they happened.
The earlier things I declared still, and from my mouth exited and I acted suddenly and made it happen.

I have declared the former things from of old; yes, they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them: suddenly I did them, and they happened.
4Is 48:44γινώσκω ἐγὼ ὅτι σκληρὸς εἶ καὶ νεῦρον σιδηροῦν ὁ τράχηλός σου καὶ τὸ μέτωπόν σου χαλκοῦνIs 48:4
I know that thou art stubborn, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy forehead brazen.
Is 48:4Because I knew that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your brow brass;
I know that you are hard and an iron sinew, your neck and your forhead bronze.

Is 48:4Is 48:4מִדַּעְתִּ֕י כִּ֥י קָשֶׁ֖ה אָ֑תָּה וְגִ֤יד בַּרְזֶל֙ עָרְפֶּ֔ךָ וּמִצְחֲךָ֖ נְחוּשָֽׁה׃Is 48:4
Because I knew that you are obstinate, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your brow brass;
5Is 48:55καὶ ἀνήγγειλά σοι πάλαι πρὶν ἐλθεῖν ἐπὶ σὲ ἀκουστόν σοι ἐποίησα μὴ εἴπῃς ὅτι τὰ εἴδωλά μου ἐποίησαν καὶ μὴ εἴπῃς ὅτι τὰ γλυπτὰ καὶ τὰ χωνευτὰ ἐνετείλατό μοιIs 48:5
And I told thee of old what should be before it came upon thee; I made it known to thee, lest thou shouldest say, My idols have done it for me; and shouldest say, My graven and molten images have commanded me.
Is 48:5therefore I have declared it to you from of old; before it came to pass I showed it to you; lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them, and my engraved image, and my molten image, has commanded them.’
And I declared to you struggles, heard by you before I made them come upon you, so that you should not say "this is made because of my idols " and not say "it was enjoined to me by the carvable material and the metal caster."

therefore I have declared it to you from of old; before it came to pass I showed it to you; lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them, and my engraved image, and my molten image, has commanded them.’

Ye have heard all this, but ye have not known: yet I have made known to thee the new things from henceforth, which are coming to pass, and thou saidst not,
Is 48:6You have heard it; see all this; and you, will you not declare it? “I have shown you new things from this time, even hidden things, which you have not known.
You have heard all and you have not known but I made you hear the new from the (things) now about to happen and you have not said (anything)

Is 48:6Is 48:6שָׁמַ֤עְתָּֽ חֲזֵה֙ כֻּלָּ֔הּ וְאַתֶּ֖ם הֲל֣וֹא תַגִּ֑ידוּ הִשְׁמַעְתִּ֤יךָ חֲדָשׁוֹת֙ מֵעַ֔תָּה וּנְצֻר֖וֹת וְלֹ֥א יְדַעְתָּֽם׃Is 48:6
You have heard it; see all this; and you, will you not declare it?
“I have shown you new things from this time, even hidden things, which you have not known.
7Is 48:77νῦν γίνεται καὶ οὐ πάλαι καὶ οὐ προτέραις ἡμέραις ἤκουσας αὐτά μὴ εἴπῃς ὅτι ναί γινώσκω αὐτάIs 48:7
Now they come to pass, and not formerly: and thou heardest not of them in former days: say not thou, Yea, I know them.
Is 48:7
They are created now, and not from of old; and before this day you didn’t hear them; lest you should say, ‘Behold, I knew them.’
Now it happens and not long ago and these things not arriving on earlier days do not say that "yes I know these things"

Is 48:7Is 48:7עַתָּ֤ה נִבְרְאוּ֙ וְלֹ֣א מֵאָ֔ז וְלִפְנֵי־י֖וֹם וְלֹ֣א שְׁמַעְתָּ֑ם פֶּן־תֹּאמַ֖ר הִנֵּ֥ה יְדַעְתִּֽין׃Is 48:7
They are created now, and not from of old; and before this day you didn’t hear them; lest you should say, ‘Behold, I knew them.’
8Is 48:88οὔτε ἔγνως οὔτε ἠπίστω οὔτε ἀπ’ ἀρχῆς ἤνοιξά σου τὰ ὦτα ἔγνων γὰρ ὅτι ἀθετῶν ἀθετήσεις καὶ ἄνομος ἔτι ἐκ κοιλίας κληθήσῃIs 48:8
Thou hast neither known, nor understood, neither from the beginning have I opened thine ears: for I knew that thou wouldest surely deal treacherously, and wouldest be called a transgressor even from the womb.

Yes, you didn’t hear; yes, you didn’t know; yes, from of old your ear was not opened: for I knew that you did deal very treacherously, and was called a transgressor from the womb.
You have not known nor believed nor from the beginning have I opened you I know your ears for that rebelling you rebel and you were called lawless from the belly.

Is 48:8Is 48:8גַּ֣ם לֹֽא־שָׁמַ֗עְתָּ גַּ֚ם לֹ֣א יָדַ֔עְתָּ גַּ֕ם מֵאָ֖ז לֹא־פִתְּחָ֣ה אָזְנֶ֑ךָ כִּ֤י יָדַ֙עְתִּי֙ בָּג֣וֹד תִּבְגּ֔וֹד וּפֹשֵׁ֥עַ מִבֶּ֖טֶן קֹ֥רָא לָֽךְ׃Is 48:8
Yes, you didn’t hear; yes, you didn’t know; yes, from of old your ear was not opened: for I knew that you did deal very treacherously, and was called a transgressor from the womb.
9Is 48:99ἕνεκεν τοῦ ἐμοῦ ὀνόματος δείξω σοι τὸν θυμόν μου καὶ τὰ ἔνδοξά μου ἐπάξω ἐπὶ σοί ἵνα μὴ ἐξολεθρεύσω σεIs 48:9
For mine own sake will I shew thee my wrath, and will bring before thee my glorious acts, that I may not utterly destroy thee.
Is 48:9For my name’s sake will I defer my anger, and for my praise will I refrain for you, that I not cut you off.
For the sake of my name I show you my rage and my glory I lead upon upon you in order to not obliterate you.

Behold, I have sold thee, but not for silver; but I have rescued thee from the furnace of affliction.

Look! I have sold you not for the sake of silver, but have saved you from the furnace of poverty.

My hand also has founded the earth, and my right hand has fixed the sky: I will call them, and they shall stand together.
Is 48:13Yes, my hand has laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand has spread out the heavens: when I call to them, they stand up together.
And my hand established the earth and my right hand strengthened heaven, I will call them, and they will stand together.

And all shall be gathered, and shall hear: who has told them these things? Out of love to thee I have fulfilled thy desire on Babylon, to abolish the seed of the Chaldeans.

“Assemble yourselves, all you, and hear; who among them has declared these things? He whom Yahweh loves shall perform his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.
And all will be gathered and will listen. Who has declared to them these things? I have made the your love your will upon Babylon to lift the seed of the Chaldeans.

Draw nigh to me, and hear ye these words; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning: when it took place, there was I, and now the Lord, even the Lord, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
Is 48:16¶“Come near to me and hear this:
“From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I.” Now the Lord Yahweh has sent me, with his Spirit.
Draw near to me and listen to these things not from the beginning in secret have I spoken nor in a dark place of the earth when it happened, I was there and now Lord has sent me and his breath

17Is 48:1717οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ ῥυσάμενός σε ὁ ἅγιος Ισραηλ ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεός σου δέδειχά σοι τοῦ εὑρεῖν σε τὴν ὁδόν ἐν ᾗ πορεύσῃ ἐν αὐτῇIs 48:17
Thus saith the Lord that delivered thee, the Holy One of Israel; I am thy God, I have shewn thee how thou shouldest find the way wherein thou shouldest walk.
Is 48:17
Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am Yahweh your God, who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way that you should go.
Thus says Lord your savior the holy one of Israel "I am your God I have shown you to how to find your way to follow it.

18Is 48:1818καὶ εἰ ἤκουσας τῶν ἐντολῶν μου ἐγένετο ἂν ὡσεὶ ποταμὸς ἡ εἰρήνη σου καὶ ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου ὡς κῦμα θαλάσσηςIs 48:18
And if thou hadst hearkened to my commandments, then would thy peace have been like a river, and thy righteousness as a wave of the sea.
Is 48:18Oh that you had listened to my commandments! then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea:
and if you had listened to my commandments, your peace would be like a river and your justice like a waves of the sea.

Thy seed also would have been as the sand, and the offspring of thy belly as the dust of the ground: neither now shalt thou by any means be utterly destroyed, neither shall thy name perish before me.
Is 48:19your seed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of your body like its grains: his name would not be cut off nor destroyed from before me.
And your offspring would have been like the sand and those born of your belly like the dust of the earth, neither now would you be obliterated nor destroyed your name before me.

Go forth of Babylon, thou that fleest from the Chaldeans: utter aloud a voice of joy, and let this be made known, proclaim it to the end of the earth; say ye, The Lord hath delivered his servant Jacob.
Is 48:20Go forth from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans; with a voice of singing declare, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth: say, Yahweh has redeemed his servant Jacob.
Exit out of Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans, annonce it in a voice of joy, and let it be heard, report it until dawn till the ends of the earth, say "Lord has rescued his servant Jacob."

21Is 48:2121καὶ ἐὰν διψήσωσιν δι’ ἐρήμου ἄξει αὐτούς ὕδωρ ἐκ πέτρας ἐξάξει αὐτοῖς σχισθήσεται πέτρα καὶ ῥυήσεται ὕδωρ καὶ πίεται ὁ λαός μουIs 48:21
And if they shall thirst, he shall lead them through the desert; he shall bring forth water to them out of the rock: the rock shall be cloven, and the water shall flow forth, and my people shall drink.
Is 48:21They didn’t thirst when he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; he split the rock also, and the waters gushed out.
And if they thirst because of destruction, lead them to water from a rock lead them out to split a rock and water will flow and my people will drink.
