And it came to pass at that time, that Ezekias was sick even to death. And Esaias the prophet the son of Amos came to him, and said to him, Thus saith the Lord, Give orders concerning thy house: for thou shalt die, and not live.
Is 38:1¶In those days was Hezekiah sick and near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.’”It happened in those days that Ezekias was sick unto death and Isaiah, the son of Amos the prophet, came to him and said to him "thus says The Lord "set your house in order, you are dying and will not live"

Is 38:1Is 38:1בַּיָּמִ֣ים הָהֵ֔ם חָלָ֥ה חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ לָמ֑וּת וַיָּב֣וֹא אֵ֠לָיו יְשַׁעְיָ֨הוּ בֶן־אָמ֜וֹץ הַנָּבִ֗יא וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ צַ֣ו לְבֵיתֶ֔ךָ כִּ֛י מֵ֥ת אַתָּ֖ה וְלֹ֥א תִֽחְיֶֽה׃Is 38:1
¶In those days was Hezekiah sick and near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.’”
2Is 38:22καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Εζεκιας τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτοῦ πρὸς τὸν τοῖχον καὶ προσηύξατο πρὸς κύριονIs 38:2
And Ezekias turned his face to the wall, and prayed to the Lord, saying,

¶Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to Yahweh,
3Is 38:33λέγων μνήσθητι κύριε ὡς ἐπορεύθην ἐνώπιόν σου μετὰ ἀληθείας ἐν καρδίᾳ ἀληθινῇ καὶ τὰ ἀρεστὰ ἐνώπιόν σου ἐποίησα καὶ ἔκλαυσεν Εζεκιας κλαυθμῷ μεγάλῳIs 38:3
Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before thee in truth, with a true heart, and have done that which was pleasing in thy sight. And Ezekias wept bitterly.
Is 38:3and said, “Remember now, Yahweh, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight.” Hezekiah wept bitterly.while saying "Remember Lord, I have walked before you with truth in a true heart and was pleasing in your sight" and Ezekias wept greatly.

¶Then the word of Yahweh came to Isaiah, saying,
5Is 38:55πορεύθητι καὶ εἰπὸν Εζεκια τάδε λέγει κύριος ὁ θεὸς Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρός σου ἤκουσα τῆς φωνῆς τῆς προσευχῆς σου καὶ εἶδον τὰ δάκρυά σου ἰδοὺ προστίθημι πρὸς τὸν χρόνον σου ἔτη δέκα πέντεIs 38:5
Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, and seen thy tears: behold, I will add to thy time fifteen years.
Is 38:5“Go, and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of David your father, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life. “Go, and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says Yahweh, the God of David your father, “I have heard your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life.
6Is 38:66καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς βασιλέως Ἀσσυρίων σώσω σε καὶ ὑπὲρ τῆς πόλεως ταύτης ὑπερασπιῶIs 38:6
And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of the Assyrians: and I will defend this city.
Is 38:6I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.and out of the hand of the king of Assyria I will save you and on behalf of the city I will cover it with a shield.

Is 38:6Is 38:6וּמִכַּ֤ף מֶֽלֶךְ־אַשּׁוּר֙ אַצִּ֣ילְךָ֔ וְאֵ֖ת הָעִ֣יר הַזֹּ֑את וְגַנּוֹתִ֖י עַל־הָעִ֥יר הַזֹּֽאת׃Is 38:6
I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.
7Is 38:77τοῦτο δέ σοι τὸ σημεῖον παρὰ κυρίου ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ποιήσει τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτοIs 38:7
And this shall be a sign to thee from the Lord, that God will do this thing;
Is 38:7
This shall be the sign to you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do this thing that he has spoken.
Is 38:7Is 38:7וְזֶה־לְּךָ֥ הָא֖וֹת מֵאֵ֣ת יְהוָ֑ה אֲשֶׁר֙ יַעֲשֶׂ֣ה יְהוָ֔ה אֶת־הַדָּבָ֥ר הַזֶּ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֵּֽר׃Is 38:7
This shall be the sign to you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do this thing that he has spoken.
8Is 38:88τὴν σκιὰν τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν οὓς κατέβη ὁ ἥλιος τοὺς δέκα ἀναβαθμοὺς τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ πατρός σου ἀποστρέψω τὸν ἥλιον τοὺς δέκα ἀναβαθμούς καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ ἥλιος τοὺς δέκα ἀναβαθμούς οὓς κατέβη ἡ σκιάIs 38:8
behold, I will turn back the shadow of the degrees of the dial by which ten degrees on the house of thy father the sun has gone down—I will turn back the sun the ten degrees; so the sun went back the ten degrees by which the shadow had gone down.
Is 38:8
Behold, I will cause the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down on the sundial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the sundial on which it had gone down.”’”

Behold, I will cause the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down on the sundial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the sundial on which it had gone down.”’”
9Is 38:99προσευχὴ Εζεκιου βασιλέως τῆς Ιουδαίας ἡνίκα ἐμαλακίσθη καὶ ἀνέστη ἐκ τῆς μαλακίας αὐτοῦIs 38:9
THE PRAYER OF EZEKIAS KING OF JUDEA, WHEN HE HAD BEEN SICK, AND WAS RECOVERED FROM HIS SICKNESS.
Is 38:9
¶The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and had recovered of his sickness.
Is 38:9Is 38:9מִכְתָּ֖ב לְחִזְקִיָּ֣הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֑ה בַּחֲלֹת֕וֹ וַיְחִ֖י מֵחָלְיֽוֹ׃Is 38:9
¶The writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, when he had been sick, and had recovered of his sickness.
10Is 38:1010ἐγὼ εἶπα ἐν τῷ ὕψει τῶν ἡμερῶν μου ἐν πύλαις ᾅδου καταλείψω τὰ ἔτη τὰ ἐπίλοιπαIs 38:10
I said in the end of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I shall part with the remainder of my years.
Is 38:10
I said, “In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol.
I am deprived of the residue of my years.”
Is 38:10Is 38:10אֲנִ֣י אָמַ֗רְתִּי בִּדְמִ֥י יָמַ֛י אֵלֵ֖כָה בְּשַׁעֲרֵ֣י שְׁא֑וֹל פֻּקַּ֖דְתִּי יֶ֥תֶר שְׁנוֹתָֽי׃Is 38:10
I said, “In the middle of my life I go into the gates of Sheol.
I am deprived of the residue of my years.”
11Is 38:1111εἶπα οὐκέτι μὴ ἴδω τὸ σωτήριον τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς οὐκέτι μὴ ἴδω ἄνθρωπονIs 38:11
I said, I shall no more at all see the salvation of God in the land of the living: I shall no more at all see the salvation of Israel on the earth: I shall no more at all see man.

I said, “I won’t see Yah,
Yah in the land of the living.
I will see man no more with the inhabitants of the world.I said "no longer should I see the salvation of God upon the earth

I said, “I won’t see Yah,
Yah in the land of the living.
I will see man no more with the inhabitants of the world.
12Is 38:1212ἐκ τῆς συγγενείας μου κατέλιπον τὸ λοιπὸν τῆς ζωῆς μου ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ ὥσπερ ὁ καταλύων σκηνὴν πήξας τὸ πνεῦμά μου παρ’ ἐμοὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἱστὸς ἐρίθου ἐγγιζούσης ἐκτεμεῖν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ παρεδόθηνIs 38:12
My life has failed from among my kindred: I have parted with the remainder of my life: it has gone forth and departed from me, as one that having pitched a tent takes it down again: my breath was with me as a weaver's web, when she that weaves draws nigh to cut off the thread.

My dwelling is removed,
and is carried away from me like a shepherd’s tent.
I have rolled up, like a weaver, my life.
He will cut me off from the loom.
From day even to night you will make an end of me.
Is 38:12Is 38:12דּוֹרִ֗י נִסַּ֧ע וְנִגְלָ֛ה מִנִּ֖י כְּאֹ֣הֶל רֹעִ֑י קִפַּ֨דְתִּי כָאֹרֵ֤ג חַיַּי֙ מִדַּלָּ֣ה יְבַצְּעֵ֔נִי מִיּ֥וֹם עַד־לַ֖יְלָה תַּשְׁלִימֵֽנִי׃Is 38:12

In that day I was given up as to a lion until the morning: so has he broken all my bones: for I was so given up from day even to night.

I waited patiently until morning.
He breaks all my bones like a lion.
From day even to night you will make an end of me.
Is 38:13Is 38:13שִׁוִּ֤יתִי עַד־בֹּ֙קֶר֙ כָּֽאֲרִ֔י כֵּ֥ן יְשַׁבֵּ֖ר כָּל־עַצְמוֹתָ֑י מִיּ֥וֹם עַד־לַ֖יְלָה תַּשְׁלִימֵֽנִי׃Is 38:13

14Is 38:1414ὡς χελιδών οὕτως φωνήσω καὶ ὡς περιστερά οὕτως μελετήσω ἐξέλιπον γάρ μου οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ τοῦ βλέπειν εἰς τὸ ὕψος τοῦ οὐρανοῦ πρὸς τὸν κύριον ὃς ἐξείλατό μεIs 38:14
As a swallow, so will I cry, and as a dove, so do I mourn: for mine eyes have failed with looking to the height of heaven to the Lord, who has delivered me, and removed the sorrow of my soul.
Is 38:14
I chattered like a swallow or a crane.
I moaned like a dove.
My eyes weaken looking upward.
Lord, I am oppressed.
Be my security.”
Is 38:14Is 38:14כְּס֤וּס עָגוּר֙ כֵּ֣ן אֲצַפְצֵ֔ף אֶהְגֶּ֖ה כַּיּוֹנָ֑ה דַּלּ֤וּ עֵינַי֙ לַמָּר֔וֹם אֲדֹנָ֖י עָֽשְׁקָה־לִּ֥י עָרְבֵֽנִי׃Is 38:14
I chattered like a swallow or a crane.

Yea, O Lord, for it was told thee concerning this; and thou hast revived my breath; and I am comforted, and live.
Is 38:16
Lord, men live by these things;
and my spirit finds life in all of them:
you restore me, and cause me to live.
Is 38:16Is 38:16אֲדֹנָ֖י עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם יִֽחְי֑וּ וּלְכָל־בָּהֶן֙ חַיֵּ֣י רוּחִ֔י וְתַחֲלִימֵ֖נִי וְהַחֲיֵֽנִי׃Is 38:16
Lord, men live by these things;
and my spirit finds life in all of them:

17Is 38:1717εἵλου γάρ μου τὴν ψυχήν ἵνα μὴ ἀπόληται καὶ ἀπέρριψας ὀπίσω μου πάσας τὰς ἁμαρτίας μουIs 38:17
For thou hast chosen my soul, that it should not perish: and thou hast cast all my sins behind me.
Is 38:17
Behold, for peace I had great anguish,
but you have in love for my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption;
for you have cast all my sins behind your back.

Behold, for peace I had great anguish,

For they that are in the grave shall not praise thee, neither shall the dead bless thee, neither shall they that are in Hades hope for thy mercy.
Is 38:18
For Sheol can’t praise you.
Death can’t celebrate you.
Those who go down into the pit can’t hope for your truth.
Is 38:18Is 38:18כִּ֣י לֹ֥א שְׁא֛וֹל תּוֹדֶ֖ךָּ מָ֣וֶת יְהַלְלֶ֑ךָּ לֹֽא־יְשַׂבְּר֥וּ יֽוֹרְדֵי־ב֖וֹר אֶל־אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃Is 38:18
For Sheol can’t praise you.
Death can’t celebrate you.
Those who go down into the pit can’t hope for your truth.
19Is 38:1919οἱ ζῶντως εὐλογήσουσίν σε ὃν τρόπον κἀγώ ἀπὸ γὰρ τῆς σήμερον παιδία ποιήσω ἃ ἀναγγελοῦσιν τὴν δικαιοσύνην σουIs 38:19
The living shall bless thee, as I also do: for from this day shall I beget children, who shall declare thy righteousness,
Is 38:19
The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do this day.
The father shall make known your truth to the children.
Is 38:19Is 38:19חַ֥י חַ֛י ה֥וּא יוֹדֶ֖ךָ כָּמ֣וֹנִי הַיּ֑וֹם אָ֣ב לְבָנִ֔ים יוֹדִ֖יעַ אֶל־אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃Is 38:19
The living, the living, he shall praise you, as I do this day.
The father shall make known your truth to the children.
20Is 38:2020κύριε τῆς σωτηρίας μου καὶ οὐ παύσομαι εὐλογῶν σε μετὰ ψαλτηρίου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας τῆς ζωῆς μου κατέναντι τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦIs 38:20
O God of my salvation; and I will not cease blessing thee with the psaltery all the days of my life before the house of God.
Is 38:20
Yahweh will save me.
Therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of Yahweh.
Is 38:20Is 38:20יְהוָ֖ה לְהוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי וּנְגִנוֹתַ֧י נְנַגֵּ֛ן כָּל־יְמֵ֥י חַיֵּ֖ינוּ עַל־בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃Is 38:20
Yahweh will save me.
Therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments all the days of our life in the house of Yahweh.
21Is 38:2121καὶ εἶπεν Ησαιας πρὸς Εζεκιαν λαβὲ παλάθην ἐκ σύκων καὶ τρῖψον καὶ κατάπλασαι καὶ ὑγιὴς ἔσῃIs 38:21
Now Esaias had said to Ezekias; Take a cake of figs, and mash them, and apply them as a plaster, and thou shalt be well.
Is 38:21
¶Now Isaiah had said, “Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it for a poultice on the boil, and he shall recover.”
Is 38:21Is 38:21וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְשַׁעְיָ֔הוּ יִשְׂא֖וּ דְּבֶ֣לֶת תְּאֵנִ֑ים וְיִמְרְח֥וּ עַֽל־הַשְּׁחִ֖ין וְיֶֽחִי׃Is 38:21
¶Now Isaiah had said, “Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it for a poultice on the boil, and he shall recover.”
22Is 38:2222καὶ εἶπεν Εζεκιας τοῦτο τὸ σημεῖον ὅτι ἀναβήσομαι εἰς τὸν οἶκον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦIs 38:22
And Ezekias said, This is a sign to Ezekias, that I shall go up to the house of God.
Is 38:22
Hezekiah also had said, “What is the sign that I will go up to the house of Yahweh?”
Is 38:22Is 38:22וַיֹּ֥אמֶר חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ מָ֣ה א֑וֹת כִּ֥י אֶעֱלֶ֖ה בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃ ס Is 38:22
Hezekiah also had said, “What is the sign that I will go up to the house of Yahweh?”
