To thee, O Lord, belongs righteousness, an to us confusion of face, as at this day; to the men of Juda, and to the dwellers in Jerusalem, and to all Israel, to them that are near, and to them that are far off in all the earth, wherever thou has scattered them, for the sin which they committed.

GrDn 9:11
Yes, all Israel have transgressed your law, even turning aside so that they would not obey your voice: therefore has the curse been poured out on us and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God; for we have sinned against him.

Dn 9:12
He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us, and against our judges who judged us, by bringing on us a great evil; for under the whole sky, such has not been done as has been done to Jerusalem.
As it is written in the law of Moses, all these evils have come upon us: yet we have not besought the Lord our God, that we might turn away from our iniquities, and have understanding in all thy truth.
GrDn 9:13
As it is written in the law of Moses, so all this evil has come upon us; yet have we not entreated the favor of Yahweh our God, so that we would turn from our iniquities and have discernment in your truth.

As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come on us: yet have we not entreated the favor of Yahweh our God, that we should turn from our iniquities, and have discernment in your truth.
The Lord also has watched, and brought the evils upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his work which he has executed, but we have not hearkened to his voice.
GrDn 9:14
Therefore Yahweh has watched over the evil and brought it on us; for Yahweh our God is righteous in all his works which he does and we have not obeyed his voice.

And now, O Lord our God, who broughtest thy people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and madest to thyself a name, as at this day; we have sinned, we have transgressed.
GrDn 9:15
Now, Lord our God, who brought your people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made yourself renowned as on this day, we have sinned, we have done wickedly.

O Lord, thy mercy is over all: let, I pray thee, thy wrath turn away, and thine anger from thy city Jerusalem, even thy holy mountain: for we have sinned, and because of our iniquities, and those of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach among all that are round about us.
GrDn 9:16

a Gk. ἐλεεινός, pitiable (e.g., see Rv. 3:17 and 1 Cor. 15:19). Here, does it mean one whose pleas merit mercy? The NETS version of OG Daniel translates this you are shown mercy. Eugene Lemcio, however, sees pitiable as the correct translation.

Here the period of seven is unspecified, whether of days or of years, but Dn. 10:2 (Th) has a period of seven explicitly qualified as of days: τρεῖς ἑβοδμάδας ἡμερῶν, three periods of seven days, i.e., three weeks.
b Gk. κρίνω + ἐπί, to be judged by; see Acts 25:9 and 1 Cor. 6:1. (but only in the gen and this is in the acc)
