that the fire may devour your cedars.

Open thy doors, O Libanus, and let the fire devour thy cedars.

Zec 11:2
Wail, fir tree, for the cedar has fallen,
because the stately ones are destroyed.
Wail, you oaks of Bashan,
for the strong forest has come down.
Zec 11:2Zec 11:2ὀλολυξάτω πίτυς διότι πέπτωκεν κέδρος ὅτι μεγάλως μεγιστᾶνες ἐταλαιπώρησαν ὀλολύξατε δρύες τῆς Βασανίτιδος ὅτι κατεσπάσθη ὁ δρυμὸς ὁ σύμφυτοςZec 11:2
Let the pine howl, because the cedar has fallen; for the mighty men have been greatly afflicted: howl, ye oaks of the land of Basan; for the thickly planted forest has been torn down.

A voice of the wailing of the shepherds!
For their glory is destroyed: a voice of the roaring of young lions!
For the pride of the Jordan is ruined.

There is a voice of the shepherds mourning; for their greatness is brought low: a voice of roaring lions; for the pride of Jordan is brought down.

¶Thus says Yahweh my God: “Feed the flock of slaughter.

Thus saith the Lord Almighty, Feed the sheep of the slaughter;

5Zec 11:55אֲשֶׁ֨ר קֹנֵיהֶ֤ן יַֽהֲרְגֻן֙ וְלֹ֣א יֶאְשָׁ֔מוּ וּמֹכְרֵיהֶ֣ן יֹאמַ֔ר בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֖ה וַאעְשִׁ֑ר וְרֹ֣עֵיהֶ֔ם לֹ֥א יַחְמ֖וֹל עֲלֵיהֶֽן׃Zec 11:5
Their buyers slaughter them, and go unpunished. Those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be Yahweh, for I am rich;’ and their own shepherds don’t pity them.
Zec 11:5Zec 11:5ἃ οἱ κτησάμενοι κατέσφαζον καὶ οὐ μετεμέλοντο καὶ οἱ πωλοῦντες αὐτὰ ἔλεγον εὐλογητὸς κύριος καὶ πεπλουτήκαμεν καὶ οἱ ποιμένες αὐτῶν οὐκ ἔπασχον οὐδὲν ἐπ’ αὐτοῖςZec 11:5
which their possessors have slain, and have not repented: and they that sold them said, Blessed be the Lord; for we have become rich: and their shepherds have suffered no sorrow for them.
Zec 11:5Their buyers slaughter them, and go unpunished. Those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be Yahweh, for I am rich;’ and their own shepherds don’t pity them.which their buyers were slaughtering without remorse and the ones selling them were saying 'blessed be the Lord we've been enriched' and their own shepherds were sufferingª nothing over them.

For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land,” says Yahweh; “but, behold, I will deliver the men everyone into his neighbor’s hand, and into the hand of his king. They will strike the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.”
Zec 11:6Zec 11:6διὰ τοῦτο οὐ φείσομαι οὐκέτι ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν λέγει κύριος καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ παραδίδωμι τοὺς ἀνθρώπους ἕκαστον εἰς χεῖρας τοῦ πλησίον αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰς χεῖρας βασιλέως αὐτοῦ καὶ κατακόψουσιν τὴν γῆν καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐξέλωμαι ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτῶνZec 11:6
Therefore I will no longer have mercy upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord: but, behold, I will deliver up the men every one into the hand of his neighbour, and into the hand of his king; and they shall destroy the land, and I will not rescue out of their hand.
Zec 11:6For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land,” says Yahweh; “but, behold, I will deliver the men everyone into his neighbor’s hand, and into the hand of his king. They will strike the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.”Because of this I will no longer spare those residing in the land" says the Lord, "behold, I am delivering over each man into the hands of his neighbor and into the hands of his king and they will cut down the land and I will not rescue out of their hand

Zec 11:7Zec 11:7καὶ ποιμανῶ τὰ πρόβατα τῆς σφαγῆς εἰς τὴν Χαναανῖτιν καὶ λήμψομαι ἐμαυτῷ δύο ῥάβδους τὴν μίαν ἐκάλεσα Κάλλος καὶ τὴν ἑτέραν ἐκάλεσα Σχοίνισμα καὶ ποιμανῶ τὰ πρόβαταZec 11:7
And I will tend the flock of slaughter in the land of Chanaan: and I will take for myself two rods; the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Line; and I will tend the flock.
Zec 11:7¶So I fed the flock of slaughter, especially the oppressed of the flock. I took for myself two staffs. The one I called “Favor,” and the other I called “Union,” and I fed the flock.and I will shepherd the sheep of the slaughter into Chanaanitin and I will take to myself two staffs, the one I called Kallos (beauty) and the other I called Skoinisma (division/plotª) and I will shepherdᵇ the sheep

And I said, I will not tend you: that which dies, let it die; and that which falls off, let it fall off; and let the rest eat every one the flesh of his neighbour.

That which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let those who are left eat each other’s flesh.”and I said "I will not shepherd you. Let the dying one die and the failing one fail, let the remnant each consume the flesh of his neighbor

I took my staff Favor, and cut it apart, that I might break my covenant that I had made with all the peoples.

And I will take my beautiful staff, and cast it away, that I may break my covenant which I made with all the people.
Zec 11:10I took my staff Favor, and cut it apart, that I might break my covenant that I had made with all the peoples.and I shall take my good rod that I should cast it away for the scattering of my covenant which I covenanted toward all the people

It was broken in that day; and thus the poor of the flock that listened to me knew that it was the word of Yahweh.

And it shall be broken in that day; and the Chananites, the sheep that are kept for me, shall know that it is the word of the Lord.
Zec 11:11It was broken in that day; and thus the poor of the flock that listened to me knew that it was the word of Yahweh.and it will be shatteredª in that day, and the Canaanites will know the sheep being guarded because it is the Word of the Lordᵇ

And I will say to them, If it be good in your eyes, give me my price, or refuse it. And they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
Zec 11:12I said to them, “If you think it best, give me my wages; and if not, keep them.” So they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver.and I will say to them, "if it is good in your sight, upon standing, give me my reward or refuse, and they stood my reward (weighed out my wages) at thirty pieces of silver

And the Lord said to me, Drop them into the furnace, and I will see if it is good metal, as I was proved for their sakes. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them into the furnace in the house of the Lord.
Zec 11:13Yahweh said to me, “Throw it to the potter, the handsome price that I was valued at by them!” I took the thirty pieces of silver, and threw them to the potter, in the house of Yahweh.and the Lord said to me "set them in the smelting furnace, and examine if it is genuine by what manner I scrutinzed them" and I took the thirty pieces of silver and injected them into the smelting furnace of the house of the Lord

Zec 11:16Zec 11:16διότι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐξεγείρω ποιμένα ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τὸ ἐκλιμπάνον οὐ μὴ ἐπισκέψηται καὶ τὸ διεσκορπισμένον οὐ μὴ ζητήσῃ καὶ τὸ συντετριμμένον οὐ μὴ ἰάσηται καὶ τὸ ὁλόκληρον οὐ μὴ κατευθύνῃ καὶ τὰ κρέα τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν καταφάγεται καὶ τοὺς ἀστραγάλους αὐτῶν ἐκστρέψειZec 11:16
For, behold, I will raise up a shepherd against the land: he shall not visit that which is perishing, and he shall not seek that which is scattered, and he shall not heal that which is bruised, nor guide that which is whole: but he shall devour the flesh of the choice ones, and shall dislocate the joints of their necks.
Zec 11:16For, behold, I will raise up a shepherd overin the land, who will not visit those who are cut off, neither will seek those who are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the flesh of the fat sheep, and will tear their hoofs in pieces.be concerned about the abandoned and the scattered he will not seek, and the broken he will not heal, and the whole alottment he will not straighten, but he will consume the chosen meats, he will entirely alter (twist) their vertebrae

17Zec 11:1717ה֣וֹי רֹעִ֤י הָֽאֱלִיל֙ עֹזְבִ֣י הַצֹּ֔אן חֶ֥רֶב עַל־זְרוֹע֖וֹ וְעַל־עֵ֣ין יְמִינ֑וֹ זְרֹעוֹ֙ יָב֣וֹשׁ תִּיבָ֔שׁ וְעֵ֥ין יְמִינ֖וֹ כָּהֹ֥ה תִכְהֶֽה׃ ס Zec 11:17
Woe to the worthless shepherd who leaves the flock! The sword will be on his arm, and on his right eye. His arm will be completely withered, and his right eye will be totally blinded!”
