Ps 71:1
By David, a Psalm sung by the sons of Jonadab, and the first that were taken captive. O Lord, I have hoped in thee: let me never be put to shame.
Ps 71:1
In you, Yahweh, I take refuge.
Never let me be disappointed.
2Ps 71:22בְּצִדְקָתְךָ֗ תַּצִּילֵ֥נִי וּֽתְפַלְּטֵ֑נִי הַטֵּֽה־אֵלַ֥י אָ֝זְנְךָ֗ וְהוֹשִׁיעֵֽנִי׃Ps 71:2
Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me.
Turn your ear to me, and save me.
Ps 70:2Ps 70:2ἐν τῇ δικαιοσύνῃ σου ῥῦσαί με καὶ ἐξελοῦ με κλῖνον πρός με τὸ οὖς σου καὶ σῶσόν μεPs 71:2
In thy righteousness deliver me and rescue me: incline thine ear to me, and save me.

Deliver me in your righteousness, and rescue me.
Turn your ear to me, and save me.
3Ps 71:33הֱיֵ֤ה לִ֨י ׀ לְצ֥וּר מָע֡וֹן לָב֗וֹא תָּמִ֗יד צִוִּ֥יתָ לְהוֹשִׁיעֵ֑נִי כִּֽי־סַלְעִ֖י וּמְצוּדָתִ֣י אָֽתָּה׃Ps 71:3
Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go.
Give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
Ps 70:3Ps 70:3γενοῦ μοι εἰς θεὸν ὑπερασπιστὴν καὶ εἰς τόπον ὀχυρὸν τοῦ σῶσαί με ὅτι στερέωμά μου καὶ καταφυγή μου εἶ σύPs 71:3
Be to me a protecting God, and a strong hold to save me: for thou art my fortress and my refuge.
Ps 71:3
Be to me a rock of refuge to which I may always go.
Give the command to save me,
for you are my rock and my fortress.
4Ps 71:44אֱ‍ֽלֹהַ֗י פַּ֭לְּטֵנִי מִיַּ֣ד רָשָׁ֑ע מִכַּ֖ף מְעַוֵּ֣ל וְחוֹמֵץ׃Ps 71:4
Rescue me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
Ps 70:4Ps 70:4ὁ θεός μου ῥῦσαί με ἐκ χειρὸς ἁμαρτωλοῦ ἐκ χειρὸς παρανομοῦντος καὶ ἀδικοῦντοςPs 71:4
Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the sinner, from the hand of the transgressor and unjust man.
Ps 71:4
Rescue me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,
from the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
5Ps 71:55כִּֽי־אַתָּ֥ה תִקְוָתִ֑י אֲדֹנָ֥י יְ֝הוִ֗ה מִבְטַחִ֥י מִנְּעוּרָֽי׃Ps 71:5
For you are my hope, Lord Yahweh;
my confidence from my youth.
Ps 70:5Ps 70:5ὅτι σὺ εἶ ἡ ὑπομονή μου κύριε κύριος ἡ ἐλπίς μου ἐκ νεότητός μουPs 71:5
For thou art my support, O Lord; O Lord, thou art my hope from my youth.
Ps 71:5
For you are my hope, Lord Yahweh;
my confidence from my youth.
6Ps 71:66עָלֶ֤יךָ ׀ נִסְמַ֬כְתִּי מִבֶּ֗טֶן מִמְּעֵ֣י אִ֭מִּי אַתָּ֣ה גוֹזִ֑י בְּךָ֖ תְהִלָּתִ֣י תָמִֽיד׃Ps 71:6
I have relied on you from the womb.
You are he who took me out of my mother’s womb.
I will always praise you.
Ps 70:6Ps 70:6ἐπὶ σὲ ἐπεστηρίχθην ἀπὸ γαστρός ἐκ κοιλίας μητρός μου σύ μου εἶ σκεπαστής ἐν σοὶ ἡ ὕμνησίς μου διὰ παντόςPs 71:6
On thee have I been stayed from the womb: from the belly of my mother thou art my protector: of thee is my praise continually.
Ps 71:6
I have relied on you from the womb.
You are he who took me my protector out of from (the time I was in) my mother’s womb.[a]
I will always In you (is) my praise you always.

7Ps 71:77כְּ֭מוֹפֵת הָיִ֣יתִי לְרַבִּ֑ים וְ֝אַתָּ֗ה מַֽחֲסִי־עֹֽז׃Ps 71:7
I am a marvel to many,
but you are my strong refuge.
Ps 70:7Ps 70:7ὡσεὶ τέρας ἐγενήθην τοῖς πολλοῖς καὶ σὺ βοηθὸς κραταιόςPs 71:7
I am become as it were a wonder to many: but thou art my strong helper.
Ps 71:7
I am a marvel to many,
but you are my strong refuge.
8Ps 71:88יִמָּ֣לֵא פִ֭י תְּהִלָּתֶ֑ךָ כָּל־הַ֝יּ֗וֹם תִּפְאַרְתֶּֽךָ׃Ps 71:8
My mouth shall be filled with your praise,
with your honor all the day.
Ps 70:8Ps 70:8πληρωθήτω τὸ στόμα μου αἰνέσεως ὅπως ὑμνήσω τὴν δόξαν σου ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν τὴν μεγαλοπρέπειάν σουPs 71:8
Let my mouth be filled with praise, that I may hymn thy glory, and thy majesty all the day.
Ps 71:8
My mouth shall be filled with your praise,

9Ps 71:99אַֽל־תַּ֭שְׁלִיכֵנִי לְעֵ֣ת זִקְנָ֑ה כִּכְל֥וֹת כֹּ֝חִ֗י אַֽל־תַּעַזְבֵֽנִי׃Ps 71:9
Don’t reject me in my old age.
Don’t forsake me when my strength fails.
Ps 70:9Ps 70:9μὴ ἀπορρίψῃς με εἰς καιρὸν γήρους ἐν τῷ ἐκλείπειν τὴν ἰσχύν μου μὴ ἐγκαταλίπῃς μεPs 71:9
Cast me not off at the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails.
Ps 71:9

10Ps 71:1010כִּֽי־אָמְר֣וּ אוֹיְבַ֣י לִ֑י וְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י נַ֝פְשִׁ֗י נוֹעֲצ֥וּ יַחְדָּֽו׃Ps 71:10
For my enemies talk about me.
Those who watch for my soul conspire together,
Ps 70:10Ps 70:10ὅτι εἶπαν οἱ ἐχθροί μου ἐμοὶ καὶ οἱ φυλάσσοντες τὴν ψυχήν μου ἐβουλεύσαντο ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸPs 71:10
For mine enemies have spoken against me; and they that lay wait for my soul have taken counsel together,
Ps 71:10
For my enemies talk about me.
Those who watch for my soul conspire together,
11Ps 71:1111לֵ֭אמֹר אֱלֹהִ֣ים עֲזָב֑וֹ רִֽדְפ֥וּ וְ֝תִפְשׂ֗וּהוּ כִּי־אֵ֥ין מַצִּֽיל׃Ps 71:11
saying, “God has forsaken him.
Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him.”
Ps 70:11Ps 70:11λέγοντες ὁ θεὸς ἐγκατέλιπεν αὐτόν καταδιώξατε καὶ καταλάβετε αὐτόν ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ὁ ῥυόμενοςPs 71:11
saying, God has forsaken him: persecute ye and take him; for there is none to deliver him.
Ps 71:11
saying, “God has forsaken him.
Pursue and take him, for no one will rescue him.”
12Ps 71:1212אֱ֭לֹהִים אַל־תִּרְחַ֣ק מִמֶּ֑נִּי אֱ֝לֹהַ֗י לְעֶזְרָ֥תִי ‏{ חישה חֽוּשָׁה׃ }‏

Ps 71:12
God, don’t be far from me.
My God, hurry to help me.
Ps 70:12Ps 70:12ὁ θεός μὴ μακρύνῃς ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ ὁ θεός μου εἰς τὴν βοήθειάν μου πρόσχεςPs 71:12
O God, go not far from me, O my God, draw nigh to my help.
Ps 71:12
God, don’t be far from me.
My God, hurry to help me.
13Ps 71:1313יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ יִכְלוּ֮ שֹׂטְנֵ֪י נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י יַֽעֲט֣וּ חֶ֭רְפָּה וּכְלִמָּ֑ה מְ֝בַקְשֵׁ֗י רָעָתִֽי׃Ps 71:13
Let my accusers be disappointed and consumed.
Let them be covered with disgrace and scorn who want to harm me.
Ps 70:13Ps 70:13αἰσχυνθήτωσαν καὶ ἐκλιπέτωσαν οἱ ἐνδιαβάλλοντες τὴν ψυχήν μου περιβαλέσθωσαν αἰσχύνην καὶ ἐντροπὴν οἱ ζητοῦντες τὰ κακά μοιPs 71:13
Let those that plot against my soul be ashamed and utterly fail: let those that seek my hurt be clothed with shame and dishonour.
Ps 71:13
Let my accusers be disappointed and consumed.

14Ps 71:1414וַ֭אֲנִי תָּמִ֣יד אֲיַחֵ֑ל וְ֝הוֹסַפְתִּ֗י עַל־כָּל־תְּהִלָּתֶֽךָ׃Ps 71:14
But I will always hope,
and will add to all of your praise.
Ps 70:14Ps 70:14ἐγὼ δὲ διὰ παντὸς ἐλπιῶ καὶ προσθήσω ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν αἴνεσίν σουPs 71:14
But I will hope continually, and will praise thee more and more.
Ps 71:14
But I will always hope,
and will add to all of your praise.
15Ps 71:1515פִּ֤י ׀ יְסַפֵּ֬ר צִדְקָתֶ֗ךָ כָּל־הַיּ֥וֹם תְּשׁוּעָתֶ֑ךָ כִּ֤י לֹ֖א יָדַ֣עְתִּי סְפֹרֽוֹת׃Ps 71:15
My mouth will tell about your righteousness,
and of your salvation all day,
though I don’t know its full measure.
Ps 70:15Ps 70:15τὸ στόμα μου ἐξαγγελεῖ τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν τὴν σωτηρίαν σου ὅτι οὐκ ἔγνων γραμματείαςPs 71:15
My mouth shall declare thy righteousness openly, and thy salvation all the day; for I am not acquainted with the affairs of men.
Ps 71:15
My mouth will tell about your righteousness,
and of your salvation all day,
though I don’t know its full measure.
16Ps 71:1616אָב֗וֹא בִּ֭גְבֻרוֹת אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֑ה אַזְכִּ֖יר צִדְקָתְךָ֣ לְבַדֶּֽךָ׃Ps 71:16
I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Yahweh.
I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.
Ps 70:16Ps 70:16εἰσελεύσομαι ἐν δυναστείᾳ κυρίου κύριε μνησθήσομαι τῆς δικαιοσύνης σου μόνουPs 71:16
I will go on in the might of the Lord: O Lord, I will make mention of thy righteousness only.
Ps 71:16
I will come with the mighty acts of the Lord Yahweh.
I will make mention of your righteousness, even of yours alone.
17Ps 71:1717אֱ‍ֽלֹהִ֗ים לִמַּדְתַּ֥נִי מִנְּעוּרָ֑י וְעַד־הֵ֝֗נָּה אַגִּ֥יד נִפְלְאוֹתֶֽיךָ׃Ps 71:17
God, you have taught me from my youth.
Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.
Ps 70:17Ps 70:17ἐδίδαξάς με ὁ θεός ἐκ νεότητός μου καὶ μέχρι νῦν ἀπαγγελῶ τὰ θαυμάσιά σουPs 71:17
O God, thou hast taught me from my youth, and until now will I declare thy wonders;
Ps 71:17
God, you have taught me from my youth.
Until now, I have declared your wondrous works.
18Ps 71:1818וְגַ֤ם עַד־זִקְנָ֨ה ׀ וְשֵׂיבָה֮ אֱלֹהִ֪ים אַֽל־תַּעַ֫זְבֵ֥נִי עַד־אַגִּ֣יד זְרוֹעֲךָ֣ לְד֑וֹר לְכָל־יָ֝ב֗וֹא גְּבוּרָתֶֽךָ׃Ps 71:18
Yes, even when I am old and gray-haired, God, don’t forsake me,
until I have declared your strength to the next generation,
your might to everyone who is to come.
Ps 70:18Ps 70:18καὶ ἕως γήρους καὶ πρεσβείου ὁ θεός μὴ ἐγκαταλίπῃς με ἕως ἂν ἀπαγγείλω τὸν βραχίονά σου πάσῃ τῇ γενεᾷ τῇ ἐρχομένῃ τὴν δυναστείαν σου καὶ τὴν δικαιοσύνην σουPs 71:18
even until I am old and advanced in years. O God, forsake me not; until I shall have declared thine arm to all the generation that is to come:
Ps 71:18
Yes, even when I am old and gray-haired, God, don’t forsake me,
until I have declared your strength to the next generation,
your might to everyone who is to come.
19Ps 71:1919וְצִדְקָתְךָ֥ אֱלֹהִ֗ים עַד־מָ֫ר֥וֹם אֲשֶׁר־עָשִׂ֥יתָ גְדֹל֑וֹת אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים מִ֣י כָמֽוֹךָ׃Ps 71:19
Your righteousness also, God, reaches to the heavens;
you have done great things.
God, who is like you?
Ps 70:19Ps 70:19ὁ θεός ἕως ὑψίστων ἃ ἐποίησας μεγαλεῖα ὁ θεός τίς ὅμοιός σοιPs 71:19
even thy power and thy righteousness, O God, up to the highest heavens, even the mighty works which thou has done: O God, who is like to thee?
Ps 71:19
Your righteousness also, God, reaches to the heavens;
you have done great things.
God, who is like you?
20Ps 71:2020אֲשֶׁ֤ר ‏{ הראיתנו הִרְאִיתַ֨נִי ׀ }‏ צָר֥וֹת רַבּ֗וֹת וְרָ֫ע֥וֹת תָּשׁ֥וּב ‏{ תחיינו תְּחַיֵּ֑ינִי }‏ וּֽמִתְּהֹמ֥וֹת הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ תָּשׁ֥וּב תַּעֲלֵֽנִי׃

Ps 71:20
You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles,
you will let me live.
You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.
Ps 70:20Ps 70:20ὅσας ἔδειξάς μοι θλίψεις πολλὰς καὶ κακάς καὶ ἐπιστρέψας ἐζωοποίησάς με καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἀβύσσων τῆς γῆς πάλιν ἀνήγαγές μεPs 71:20
What afflictions many and sore hast thou shewed me! yet thou didst turn and quicken me, and broughtest me again from the depths of the earth.
Ps 71:20
You, who have shown us many and bitter troubles,
you will let me live.
You will bring us up again from the depths of the earth.
21Ps 71:2121תֶּ֤רֶב ׀ גְּֽדֻלָּתִ֗י וְתִסֹּ֥ב תְּֽנַחֲמֵֽנִי׃Ps 71:21
Increase my honor,
and comfort me again.
Ps 70:21Ps 70:21ἐπλεόνασας τὴν μεγαλοσύνην σου καὶ ἐπιστρέψας παρεκάλεσάς με καὶ ἐκ τῶν ἀβύσσων τῆς γῆς πάλιν ἀνήγαγές μεPs 71:21
Thou didst multiply thy righteousness, and didst turn and comfort me, and broughtest me again out of the depths of the earth.
Ps 71:21
Increase my honor,
and comfort me again.
22Ps 71:2222גַּם־אֲנִ֤י ׀ אוֹדְךָ֣ בִכְלִי־נֶבֶל֮ אֲמִתְּךָ֪ אֱלֹ֫הָ֥י אֲזַמְּרָ֣ה לְךָ֣ בְכִנּ֑וֹר קְ֝ד֗וֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃Ps 71:22
I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God.
I sing praises to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
Ps 70:22Ps 70:22καὶ γὰρ ἐγὼ ἐξομολογήσομαί σοι ἐν σκεύει ψαλμοῦ τὴν ἀλήθειάν σου ὁ θεός ψαλῶ σοι ἐν κιθάρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος τοῦ ΙσραηλPs 71:22
I will also therefore give thanks to thee, O God, because of thy truth, on an instrument of psalmody: I will sing psalms to thee on the harp, O Holy One of Israel.
Ps 71:22
I will also praise you with the harp for your faithfulness, my God.
I sing praises to you with the lyre, Holy One of Israel.
23Ps 71:2323תְּרַנֵּ֣נָּ֣ה שְׂ֭פָתַי כִּ֣י אֲזַמְּרָה־לָּ֑ךְ וְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י אֲשֶׁ֣ר פָּדִֽיתָ׃Ps 71:23
My lips shall shout for joy!
My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you!
Ps 70:23Ps 70:23ἀγαλλιάσονται τὰ χείλη μου ὅταν ψάλω σοι καὶ ἡ ψυχή μου ἣν ἐλυτρώσωPs 71:23
My lips shall rejoice when I sing to thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
Ps 71:23
My lips shall shout for joy!
My soul, which you have redeemed, sings praises to you!
24Ps 71:2424גַּם־לְשׁוֹנִ֗י כָּל־הַ֭יּוֹם תֶּהְגֶּ֣ה צִדְקָתֶ֑ךָ כִּי־בֹ֥שׁוּ כִֽי־חָ֝פְר֗וּ מְבַקְשֵׁ֥י רָעָתִֽי׃Ps 71:24
My tongue will also talk about your righteousness all day long,
for they are disappointed, and they are confounded,
who want to harm me.
Ps 70:24Ps 70:24ἔτι δὲ καὶ ἡ γλῶσσά μου ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν μελετήσει τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου ὅταν αἰσχυνθῶσιν καὶ ἐντραπῶσιν οἱ ζητοῦντες τὰ κακά μοιPs 71:24
Moreover also my tongue shall dwell all the day upon thy righteousness; when they shall be ashamed and confounded that seek my hurt.
Ps 71:24
My tongue will also talk about your righteousness all day long,
for they are disappointed, and they are confounded,
who want to harm me.
