εἰς τὸ τέλος ἐν ψαλμοῖς ᾠδὴ τῷ Δαυιδ
Ps 4:1
For the End, a Song of David among the Psalms. When I called upon him, the God of my righteousness heard me: thou hast made room for me in tribulation; pity me, and hearken to my prayer.

2Ps 4:12בְּקָרְאִ֡י עֲנֵ֤נִי ׀ אֱלֹ֘הֵ֤י צִדְקִ֗י בַּ֭צָּר הִרְחַ֣בְתָּ לִּ֑י חָ֝נֵּ֗נִי וּשְׁמַ֥ע תְּפִלָּתִֽי׃Ps 4:1
Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness.
Give me relief from my distress.
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
Ps 4:2Ps 4:2ἐν τῷ ἐπικαλεῖσθαί με εἰσήκουσέν μου ὁ θεὸς τῆς δικαιοσύνης μου ἐν θλίψει ἐπλάτυνάς μοι οἰκτίρησόν με καὶ εἰσάκουσον τῆς προσευχῆς μου2
Ps 4:1
Answer me when I call, God of my righteousness.
Give me relief from my distress.
Have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.
3Ps 4:23בְּנֵ֥י אִ֡ישׁ עַד־מֶ֬ה כְבוֹדִ֣י לִ֭כְלִמָּה תֶּאֱהָב֣וּן רִ֑יק תְּבַקְשׁ֖וּ כָזָ֣ב סֶֽלָה׃Ps 4:2
You sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonor?
Will you love vanity, and seek after falsehood?
Selah.
Ps 4:3Ps 4:3υἱοὶ ἀνθρώπων ἕως πότε βαρυκάρδιοι ἵνα τί ἀγαπᾶτε ματαιότητα καὶ ζητεῖτε ψεῦδος διάψαλμαPs 4:2
O ye sons on men, how long will ye be slow of heart? wherefore do ye love vanity, and seek falsehood? Pause.
Ps 4:2
You sons of men, how long shall my glory be turned into dishonor?
Will you love vanity, and seek after falsehood?

4Ps 4:34וּדְע֗וּ כִּֽי־הִפְלָ֣ה יְ֭הוָה חָסִ֣יד ל֑וֹ יְהוָ֥ה יִ֝שְׁמַ֗ע בְּקָרְאִ֥י אֵלָֽיו׃Ps 4:3
But know that Yahweh has set apart for himself him who is godly:
Yahweh will hear when I call to him.
Ps 4:4Ps 4:4καὶ γνῶτε ὅτι ἐθαυμάστωσεν κύριος τὸν ὅσιον αὐτοῦ κύριος εἰσακούσεταί μου ἐν τῷ κεκραγέναι με πρὸς αὐτόνPs 4:3
But know ye that the Lord has done wondrous things for his holy one: the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.

But know that Yahweh has set apart for himself him who is godly:
Yahweh will hear when I call to him.and know that The Lord magnifies His holy one, the Lord will hear me in my cry to Him.

5Ps 4:45רִגְז֗וּ וְֽאַל־תֶּ֫חֱטָ֥אוּ אִמְר֣וּ בִ֭לְבַבְכֶם עַֽל־מִשְׁכַּבְכֶ֗ם וְדֹ֣מּוּ סֶֽלָה׃Ps 4:4
Stand in awe, and don’t sin.
Search your own heart on your bed, and be still.
Selah.
Ps 4:5Ps 4:5ὀργίζεσθε καὶ μὴ ἁμαρτάνετε λέγετε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς κοίταις ὑμῶν κατανύγητε διάψαλμαPs 4:4
Be ye angry, and sin not; feel compunction upon your beds for what ye say in your hearts. Pause.
Ps 4:4
Stand in awe, and don’t sin.
Search your own heart on your bed, and be still.
Selah.Say in your own heart "be angry and sin not" and keep your peace upon your bed.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness.
Put your trust in Yahweh.
Ps 4:6Ps 4:6θύσατε θυσίαν δικαιοσύνης καὶ ἐλπίσατε ἐπὶ κύριονPs 4:5
Offer the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness.

7Ps 4:67רַבִּ֥ים אֹמְרִים֮ מִֽי־יַרְאֵ֪נוּ֫ ט֥וֹב נְֽסָה־עָ֭לֵינוּ א֨וֹר פָּנֶ֬יךָ יְהוָֽה׃Ps 4:6
Many say, “Who will show us any good?”
Yahweh, let the light of your face shine on us.
Ps 4:7Ps 4:7πολλοὶ λέγουσιν τίς δείξει ἡμῖν τὰ ἀγαθά ἐσημειώθη ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς τὸ φῶς τοῦ προσώπου σου κύριεPs 4:6
Many say, Who will shew us good things? the light of thy countenance, O Lord, has been manifested towards us.
Ps 4:6
Many say, “Who will show us any good?”
Yahweh, let the light of your face shine on us.? The light of the face of The Lord was signified upon us.ª

You have put gladness in my heart,
more than when their grain and their new wine are increased.
Ps 4:8Ps 4:8ἔδωκας εὐφροσύνην εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου ἀπὸ καιροῦ σίτου καὶ οἴνου καὶ ἐλαίου αὐτῶν ἐπληθύνθησανPs 4:7
Thou hast put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.

You have put gladness in my heart,

In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep,
for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.
Ps 4:9Ps 4:9ἐν εἰρήνῃ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ κοιμηθήσομαι καὶ ὑπνώσω ὅτι σύ κύριε κατὰ μόνας ἐπ’ ἐλπίδι κατῴκισάς μεPs 4:8
I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for thou, Lord, only hast caused me to dwell securely.
Ps 4:8
In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep,
for you, YahwehLord alone, make me live in safety.
