¶Job again took up his parable, and said,
2Jb 27:22חַי־אֵ֭ל הֵסִ֣יר מִשְׁפָּטִ֑י וְ֝שַׁדַּ֗י הֵמַ֥ר נַפְשִֽׁי׃Jb 27:2
“As God lives, who has taken away my right,
the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter.
Jb 27:2Jb 27:2ζῇ κύριος ὃς οὕτω με κέκρικεν καὶ ὁ παντοκράτωρ ὁ πικράνας μου τὴν ψυχήνJb 27:2
As God lives, who has thus judge me; and the Almighty, who has embittered my soul;
Jb 27:2
“As God lives, who has taken away my right,
the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter.
3Jb 27:33כִּֽי־כָל־ע֣וֹד נִשְׁמָתִ֣י בִ֑י וְר֖וּחַ אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּאַפִּֽי׃Jb 27:3
(For the length of my life is still in me,
and the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
Jb 27:3Jb 27:3ἦ μὴν ἔτι τῆς πνοῆς μου ἐνούσης πνεῦμα δὲ θεῖον τὸ περιόν μοι ἐν ῥισίνJb 27:3
verily, while my breath is yet in me, and the breath of God which remains to me is in my nostrils,
Jb 27:3
(For the length of my life is still in me,
and the spirit of God is in my nostrils);
4Jb 27:44אִם־תְּדַבֵּ֣רְנָה שְׂפָתַ֣י עַוְלָ֑ה וּ֝לְשׁוֹנִ֗י אִם־יֶהְגֶּ֥ה רְמִיָּֽה׃Jb 27:4
surely my lips shall not speak unrighteousness,
neither shall my tongue utter deceit.
Jb 27:4Jb 27:4μὴ λαλήσειν τὰ χείλη μου ἄνομα οὐδὲ ἡ ψυχή μου μελετήσει ἄδικαJb 27:4
my lips shall not speak evil words, neither shall my soul meditate unrighteous thoughts.
Jb 27:4
surely my lips shall not speak unrighteousness,
neither shall my tongue utter deceit.
5Jb 27:55חָלִ֣ילָה לִּי֮ אִם־אַצְדִּ֪יק אֶ֫תְכֶ֥ם עַד־אֶגְוָ֑ע לֹא־אָסִ֖יר תֻּמָּתִ֣י מִמֶּֽנִּי׃Jb 27:5
Far be it from me that I should justify you.
Until I die I will not put away my integrity from me.
Jb 27:5Jb 27:5μή μοι εἴη δικαίους ὑμᾶς ἀποφῆναι ἕως ἂν ἀποθάνω οὐ γὰρ ἀπαλλάξω μου τὴν ἀκακίανJb 27:5
Far be it from me that I should justify you till I die; for I will not let go my innocence,
Jb 27:5
Far be it from me that I should justify you.
Until I die I will not put away my integrity from me.
6Jb 27:66בְּצִדְקָתִ֣י הֶ֭חֱזַקְתִּי וְלֹ֣א אַרְפֶּ֑הָ לֹֽא־יֶחֱרַ֥ף לְ֝בָבִ֗י מִיָּמָֽי׃Jb 27:6
I hold fast to my righteousness, and will not let it go.
My heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
Jb 27:6Jb 27:6δικαιοσύνῃ δὲ προσέχων οὐ μὴ προῶμαι οὐ γὰρ σύνοιδα ἐμαυτῷ ἄτοπα πράξαςJb 27:6
but keeping fast to my righteousness I will by no means let it go: for I am not conscious to myself of having done any thing amiss.
Jb 27:6
I hold fast to my righteousness, and will not let it go.
My heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
7Jb 27:77יְהִ֣י כְ֭רָשָׁע אֹ֣יְבִ֑י וּמִתְקוֹמְמִ֥י כְעַוָּֽל׃Jb 27:7
“Let my enemy be as the wicked.
Let him who rises up against me be as the unrighteous.
Jb 27:7Jb 27:7οὐ μὴν δὲ ἀλλὰ εἴησαν οἱ ἐχθροί μου ὥσπερ ἡ καταστροφὴ τῶν ἀσεβῶν καὶ οἱ ἐπ’ ἐμὲ ἐπανιστανόμενοι ὥσπερ ἡ ἀπώλεια τῶν παρανόμωνJb 27:7
Nay rather, but let mine enemies be as the overthrow of the ungodly, and they that rise up against me, as the destruction of transgressors.
Jb 27:7
“Let my enemy be as the wicked.
Let him who rises up against me be as the unrighteous.
8Jb 27:88כִּ֤י מַה־תִּקְוַ֣ת חָ֭נֵף כִּ֣י יִבְצָ֑ע כִּ֤י יֵ֖שֶׁל אֱל֣וֹהַּ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃Jb 27:8
For what is the hope of the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
Jb 27:8Jb 27:8καὶ τίς γάρ ἐστιν ἐλπὶς ἀσεβεῖ ὅτι ἐπέχει πεποιθὼς ἐπὶ κύριον ἆρα σωθήσεταιJb 27:8
For what is the hope of the ungodly, that he holds to it? will he indeed trust in the Lord and be saved?
Jb 27:8
For what is the hope of the godless, when he is cut off, when God takes away his life?
9Jb 27:99הַֽ֭צַעֲקָתוֹ יִשְׁמַ֥ע ׀ אֵ֑ל כִּֽי־תָב֖וֹא עָלָ֣יו צָרָֽה׃Jb 27:9
Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him?
Jb 27:9Jb 27:9ἦ τὴν δέησιν αὐτοῦ εἰσακούσεται κύριος ἢ ἐπελθούσης αὐτῷ ἀνάγκηςJb 27:9
Will God hear his prayer? or, when distress has come upon him,
Jb 27:9
Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him?
10Jb 27:1010אִם־עַל־שַׁדַּ֥י יִתְעַנָּ֑ג יִקְרָ֖א אֱל֣וֹהַּ בְּכָל־עֵֽת׃Jb 27:10
Will he delight himself in the Almighty,
and call on God at all times?
Jb 27:10Jb 27:10μὴ ἔχει τινὰ παρρησίαν ἔναντι αὐτοῦ ἢ ὡς ἐπικαλεσαμένου αὐτοῦ εἰσακούσεται αὐτοῦJb 27:10
has he any confidence before him? or will God hear him as he calls upon him?
Jb 27:10
Will he delight himself in the Almighty,
and call on God at all times?
11Jb 27:1111אוֹרֶ֣ה אֶתְכֶ֣ם בְּיַד־אֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר עִם־שַׁ֝דַּ֗י לֹ֣א אֲכַחֵֽד׃Jb 27:11
I will teach you about the hand of God.
That which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
Jb 27:11Jb 27:11ἀλλὰ δὴ ἀναγγελῶ ὑμῖν τί ἐστιν ἐν χειρὶ κυρίου ἅ ἐστιν παρὰ παντοκράτορι οὐ ψεύσομαιJb 27:11
Yet now I will tell you what is in the hand of the Lord: I will not lie concerning the things which are with the Almighty.
Jb 27:11
I will teach you about the hand of God.
That which is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
12Jb 27:1212הֵן־אַתֶּ֣ם כֻּלְּכֶ֣ם חֲזִיתֶ֑ם וְלָמָּה־זֶּ֝֗ה הֶ֣בֶל תֶּהְבָּֽלוּ׃Jb 27:12
Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves;
why then have you become altogether vain?
Jb 27:12Jb 27:12ἰδοὺ δὴ πάντες οἴδατε ὅτι κενὰ κενοῖς ἐπιβάλλετεJb 27:12
Behold, ye all know that ye are adding vanity to vanity.
Jb 27:12
Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves;
why then have you become altogether vain?
13Jb 27:1313זֶ֤ה ׀ חֵֽלֶק־אָדָ֖ם רָשָׁ֥ע ׀ עִם־אֵ֑ל וְֽנַחֲלַ֥ת עָ֝רִיצִ֗ים מִשַּׁדַּ֥י יִקָּֽחוּ׃Jb 27:13
“This is the portion of a wicked man with God,
the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty.
Jb 27:13Jb 27:13αὕτη ἡ μερὶς ἀνθρώπου ἀσεβοῦς παρὰ κυρίου κτῆμα δὲ δυναστῶν ἐλεύσεται παρὰ παντοκράτορος ἐπ’ αὐτούςJb 27:13
This is the portion of an ungodly man from the Lord, and the possession of oppressors shall come upon them from the Almighty.
Jb 27:13
“This is the portion of a wicked man with God,
the heritage of oppressors, which they receive from the Almighty.
14Jb 27:1414אִם־יִרְבּ֣וּ בָנָ֣יו לְמוֹ־חָ֑רֶב וְ֝צֶאֱצָאָ֗יו לֹ֣א יִשְׂבְּעוּ־לָֽחֶם׃Jb 27:14
If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword.
His offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
Jb 27:14Jb 27:14ἐὰν δὲ πολλοὶ γένωνται οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς σφαγὴν ἔσονται ἐὰν δὲ καὶ ἀνδρωθῶσιν προσαιτήσουσινJb 27:14
And if their children be many, they shall be for slaughter: and if they grow up, they shall beg.
Jb 27:14
If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword.
His offspring shall not be satisfied with bread.
15Jb 27:1515‏{ שרידו שְׂ֭רִידָיו }‏ בַּמָּ֣וֶת יִקָּבֵ֑רוּ וְ֝אַלְמְנֹתָ֗יו לֹ֣א תִבְכֶּֽינָה׃

Jb 27:15
Those who remain of him shall be buried in death.
His widows shall make no lamentation.
Jb 27:15Jb 27:15οἱ δὲ περιόντες αὐτοῦ ἐν θανάτῳ τελευτήσουσιν χήρας δὲ αὐτῶν οὐθεὶς ἐλεήσειJb 27:15
And they that survive of him shall utterly perish, and no one shall pity their widows.
Jb 27:15
Those who remain of him shall be buried in death.

16Jb 27:1616אִם־יִצְבֹּ֣ר כֶּעָפָ֣ר כָּ֑סֶף וְ֝כַחֹ֗מֶר יָכִ֥ין מַלְבּֽוּשׁ׃Jb 27:16
Though he heap up silver as the dust,
and prepare clothing as the clay;
Jb 27:16Jb 27:16ἐὰν συναγάγῃ ὥσπερ γῆν ἀργύριον ἴσα δὲ πηλῷ ἑτοιμάσῃ χρυσίονJb 27:16
Even if he should gather silver as earth, and prepare gold as clay;
Jb 27:16
Though he heap up silver as the dust,
and prepare clothing as the clay;
17Jb 27:1717יָ֭כִין וְצַדִּ֣יק יִלְבָּ֑שׁ וְ֝כֶ֗סֶף נָקִ֥י יַחֲלֹֽק׃Jb 27:17
he may prepare it, but the just shall put it on,
and the innocent shall divide the silver.
Jb 27:17Jb 27:17ταῦτα πάντα δίκαιοι περιποιήσονται τὰ δὲ χρήματα αὐτοῦ ἀληθινοὶ καθέξουσινJb 27:17
All these things shall the righteous gain, and the truehearted shall possess his wealth.
Jb 27:17
he may prepare it, but the just shall put it on,
and the innocent shall divide the silver.
18Jb 27:1818בָּנָ֣ה כָעָ֣שׁ בֵּית֑וֹ וּ֝כְסֻכָּ֗ה עָשָׂ֥ה נֹצֵֽר׃Jb 27:18
He builds his house as the moth,
as a booth which the watchman makes.
Jb 27:18Jb 27:18ἀπέβη δὲ ὁ οἶκος αὐτοῦ ὥσπερ σῆτες καὶ ὥσπερ ἀράχνηJb 27:18
And his house is gone like moths, and like a spider's web.
Jb 27:18
He builds his house as the moth,

19Jb 27:1919עָשִׁ֣יר יִ֭שְׁכַּב וְלֹ֣א יֵאָסֵ֑ף עֵינָ֖יו פָּקַ֣ח וְאֵינֶֽנּוּ׃Jb 27:19
He lies down rich, but he shall not do so again.
He opens his eyes, and he is not.
Jb 27:19Jb 27:19πλούσιος κοιμηθεὶς καὶ οὐ προσθήσει ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ διήνοιξεν καὶ οὐκ ἔστινJb 27:19
The rich man shall lie down, and shall not continue: he has opened his eyes, and he is not.
Jb 27:19
He lies down rich, but he shall not do so again.
He opens his eyes, and he is not.
20Jb 27:2020תַּשִּׂיגֵ֣הוּ כַ֭מַּיִם בַּלָּה֑וֹת לַ֝֗יְלָה גְּנָבַ֥תּוּ סוּפָֽה׃Jb 27:20
Terrors overtake him like waters.
A storm steals him away in the night.
Jb 27:20Jb 27:20συνήντησαν αὐτῷ ὥσπερ ὕδωρ αἱ ὀδύναι νυκτὶ δὲ ὑφείλατο αὐτὸν γνόφοςJb 27:20
Pains have come upon him as water, and darkness has carried him away by night.
Jb 27:20
Terrors overtake him like waters.
A storm steals him away in the night.
21Jb 27:2121יִשָּׂאֵ֣הוּ קָדִ֣ים וְיֵלַ֑ךְ וִֽ֝ישָׂעֲרֵ֗הוּ מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃Jb 27:21
The east wind carries him away, and he departs.
It sweeps him out of his place.
Jb 27:21Jb 27:21ἀναλήμψεται αὐτὸν καύσων καὶ ἀπελεύσεται καὶ λικμήσει αὐτὸν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦJb 27:21
And a burning wind shall catch him, and he shall depart, and it shall utterly drive him out of his place.
Jb 27:21
The east wind carries him away, and he departs.

22Jb 27:2222וְיַשְׁלֵ֣ךְ עָ֭לָיו וְלֹ֣א יַחְמֹ֑ל מִ֝יָּד֗וֹ בָּר֥וֹחַ יִבְרָֽח׃Jb 27:22
For it hurls at him, and does not spare,
as he flees away from his hand.
Jb 27:22Jb 27:22καὶ ἐπιρρίψει ἐπ’ αὐτὸν καὶ οὐ φείσεται ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτοῦ φυγῇ φεύξεταιJb 27:22
And God shall cast trouble upon him, and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
Jb 27:22
For it hurls at him, and does not spare,
as he flees away from his hand.
23Jb 27:2323יִשְׂפֹּ֣ק עָלֵ֣ימוֹ כַפֵּ֑ימוֹ וְיִשְׁרֹ֥ק עָ֝לָ֗יו מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃Jb 27:23
Men shall clap their hands at him,
and shall hiss him out of his place.
Jb 27:23Jb 27:23κροτήσει ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ χεῖρας αὐτοῦ καὶ συριεῖ αὐτὸν ἐκ τοῦ τόπου αὐτοῦJb 27:23
He shall cause men to clap their hands against them, and shall hiss him out of his place.
Jb 27:23
Men shall clap their hands at him,
and shall hiss him out of his place.
