2Jb 11:22הֲרֹ֣ב דְּ֭בָרִים לֹ֣א יֵעָנֶ֑ה וְאִם־אִ֖ישׁ שְׂפָתַ֣יִם יִצְדָּֽק׃Jb 11:2
“Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered?
Should a man full of talk be justified?
Jb 11:2Jb 11:2ὁ τὰ πολλὰ λέγων καὶ ἀντακούσεται ἢ καὶ ὁ εὔλαλος οἴεται εἶναι δίκαιος εὐλογημένος γεννητὸς γυναικὸς ὀλιγόβιοςJb 11:2
He that speaks much, should also hear on the other side: or does the fluent speaker think himself to be righteous? blessed is the short lived offspring of woman.

3Jb 11:33בַּ֭דֶּיךָ מְתִ֣ים יַחֲרִ֑ישׁו וַ֝תִּלְעַ֗ג וְאֵ֣ין מַכְלִֽם׃Jb 11:3
Should your boastings make men hold their peace?
When you mock, shall no man make you ashamed?
Jb 11:3Jb 11:3μὴ πολὺς ἐν ῥήμασιν γίνου οὐ γάρ ἐστιν ὁ ἀντικρινόμενός σοιJb 11:3
Be not a speaker of many words; for is there none to answer thee?

4Jb 11:44וַ֭תֹּאמֶר זַ֣ךְ לִקְחִ֑י וּ֝בַ֗ר הָיִ֥יתִי בְעֵינֶֽיךָ׃Jb 11:4
For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure.
I am clean in your eyes.’
Jb 11:4Jb 11:4μὴ γὰρ λέγε ὅτι καθαρός εἰμι τοῖς ἔργοις καὶ ἄμεμπτος ἐναντίον αὐτοῦJb 11:4
For say not, I am pure in my works, and blameless before him.

For you say, ‘My doctrine is pure.
I am clean in your eyes.’
5Jb 11:55וְֽאוּלָ֗ם מִֽי־יִתֵּ֣ן אֱל֣וֹהַּ דַּבֵּ֑ר וְיִפְתַּ֖ח שְׂפָתָ֣יו עִמָּֽךְ׃Jb 11:5
But oh that God would speak,
and open his lips against you,
Jb 11:5Jb 11:5ἀλλὰ πῶς ἂν ὁ κύριος λαλήσαι πρὸς σέ καὶ ἀνοίξει χείλη αὐτοῦ μετὰ σοῦJb 11:5
But oh that the Lord would speak to thee, and open his lips to thee!

But oh that God would speak,
and open his lips against you,
6Jb 11:66וְיַגֶּד־לְךָ֨ ׀ תַּֽעֲלֻמ֣וֹת חָכְמָה֮ כִּֽי־כִפְלַ֪יִם לְֽת֫וּשִׁיָּ֥ה וְדַ֡ע כִּֽי־יַשֶּׁ֥ה לְךָ֥ אֱ֝ל֗וֹהַ מֵעֲוֹנֶֽךָ׃Jb 11:6
that he would show you the secrets of wisdom!
For true wisdom has two sides.
Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.
Jb 11:6Jb 11:6εἶτα ἀναγγελεῖ σοι δύναμιν σοφίας ὅτι διπλοῦς ἔσται τῶν κατὰ σέ καὶ τότε γνώσῃ ὅτι ἄξιά σοι ἀπέβη ἀπὸ κυρίου ὧν ἡμάρτηκαςJb 11:6
Then shall he declare to thee the power of wisdom; for it shall be double of that which is with thee: and then shalt thou know, that a just recompence of thy sins has come to thee from the Lord.

7Jb 11:77הַחֵ֣קֶר אֱל֣וֹהַ תִּמְצָ֑א אִ֤ם עַד־תַּכְלִ֖ית שַׁדַּ֣י תִּמְצָֽא׃Jb 11:7
“Can you fathom the mystery of God?
Or can you probe the limits of the Almighty?
Jb 11:7Jb 11:7ἦ ἴχνος κυρίου εὑρήσεις ἢ εἰς τὰ ἔσχατα ἀφίκου ἃ ἐποίησεν ὁ παντοκράτωρJb 11:7
Wilt thou find out the traces of the Lord? or hast thou come to the end of that which the Almighty has made?
Jb 11:7
“Can you fathom the mystery of God?

8Jb 11:88גָּבְהֵ֣י שָׁ֭מַיִם מַה־תִּפְעָ֑ל עֲמֻקָּ֥ה מִ֝שְּׁא֗וֹל מַה־תֵּדָֽע׃Jb 11:8
They are high as heaven. What can you do?
They are deeper than Sheol. What can you know?
Jb 11:8Jb 11:8ὑψηλὸς ὁ οὐρανός καὶ τί ποιήσεις βαθύτερα δὲ τῶν ἐν ᾅδου τί οἶδαςJb 11:8
Heaven is high; and what wilt thou do? and there are deeper things than those in hell; what dost thou know?
Jb 11:8
They are high as heaven. What can you do?
They are deeper than Sheol. What can you know?
9Jb 11:99אֲרֻכָּ֣ה מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִדָּ֑הּ וּ֝רְחָבָ֗ה מִנִּי־יָֽם׃Jb 11:9
Its measure is longer than the earth,
and broader than the sea.
Jb 11:9Jb 11:9ἢ μακρότερα μέτρου γῆς ἢ εὔρους θαλάσσηςJb 11:9
Or longer than the measure of the earth, or the breadth of the sea.

10Jb 11:1010אִם־יַחֲלֹ֥ף וְיַסְגִּ֑יר וְ֝יַקְהִ֗יל וּמִ֣י יְשִׁיבֶֽנּוּ׃Jb 11:10
If he passes by, or confines,
or convenes a court, then who can oppose him?
Jb 11:10Jb 11:10ἐὰν δὲ καταστρέψῃ τὰ πάντα τίς ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ τί ἐποίησαςJb 11:10
And if he should overthrow all things, who will say to him, What hast thou done?

For he knows false men.
He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.

For he knows the works of transgressors; and when he sees wickedness, he will not overlook it.

For he knows false men.
He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.
12Jb 11:1212וְאִ֣ישׁ נָ֭בוּב יִלָּבֵ֑ב וְעַ֥יִר פֶּ֝֗רֶא אָדָ֥ם יִוָּלֵֽד׃Jb 11:12
An empty-headed man becomes wise
when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.
Jb 11:12Jb 11:12ἄνθρωπος δὲ ἄλλως νήχεται λόγοις βροτὸς δὲ γεννητὸς γυναικὸς ἴσα ὄνῳ ἐρημίτῃJb 11:12
But man vainly buoys himself up with words; and a mortal born of woman is like an ass in the desert.

For if thou hast made thine heart pure, and liftest up thine hands towards him;

“If you set your heart aright,
stretch out your hands toward him.
14Jb 11:1414אִם־אָ֣וֶן בְּ֭יָדְךָ הַרְחִיקֵ֑הוּ וְאַל־תַּשְׁכֵּ֖ן בְּאֹהָלֶ֣יךָ עַוְלָֽה׃Jb 11:14
If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away.
Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.
Jb 11:14Jb 11:14εἰ ἄνομόν τί ἐστιν ἐν χερσίν σου πόρρω ποίησον αὐτὸ ἀπὸ σοῦ ἀδικία δὲ ἐν διαίτῃ σου μὴ αὐλισθήτωJb 11:14
if there is any iniquity in thy hands, put if far from thee, and let not unrighteousness lodge in thy habitation.
Jb 11:14
If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away.
Don’t let unrighteousness dwell in your tents.
15Jb 11:1515כִּי־אָ֤ז ׀ תִּשָּׂ֣א פָנֶ֣יךָ מִמּ֑וּם וְהָיִ֥יתָ מֻ֝צָ֗ק וְלֹ֣א תִירָֽא׃Jb 11:15
Surely then you shall lift up your face without spot;
Yes, you shall be steadfast, and shall not fear:
Jb 11:15Jb 11:15οὕτως γὰρ ἀναλάμψει σου τὸ πρόσωπον ὥσπερ ὕδωρ καθαρόν ἐκδύσῃ δὲ ῥύπον καὶ οὐ μὴ φοβηθῇςJb 11:15
For thus shall thy countenance shine again, as pure water; and thou shalt divest thyself of uncleanness, and shalt not fear.
Jb 11:15
Surely then you shall lift up your face without spot;

16Jb 11:1616כִּי־אַ֭תָּה עָמָ֣ל תִּשְׁכָּ֑ח כְּמַ֖יִם עָבְר֣וּ תִזְכֹּֽר׃Jb 11:16
for you shall forget your misery.
You shall remember it as waters that are passed away.
Jb 11:16Jb 11:16καὶ τὸν κόπον ἐπιλήσῃ ὥσπερ κῦμα παρελθὸν καὶ οὐ πτοηθήσῃJb 11:16
And thou shalt forget trouble, as a wave that has passed by; and thou shalt not be scared.

for you shall forget your misery.
You shall remember it as waters that are passed away.
17Jb 11:1717וּֽ֭מִצָּהֳרַיִם יָק֣וּם חָ֑לֶד תָּ֝עֻ֗פָה כַּבֹּ֥קֶר תִּהְיֶֽה׃Jb 11:17
Life shall be clearer than the noonday.
Though there is darkness, it shall be as the morning.
Jb 11:17Jb 11:17ἡ δὲ εὐχή σου ὥσπερ ἑωσφόρος ἐκ δὲ μεσημβρίας ἀνατελεῖ σοι ζωήJb 11:17
And thy prayer shall be as the morning star, and life shall arise to thee as from the noonday.
Jb 11:17
Life shall be clearer than the noonday.
Though there is darkness, it shall be as the morning.Yet your prayer, just as the morningstar out of noon, life will rise to you.

18Jb 11:1818וּֽ֭בָטַחְתָּ כִּי־יֵ֣שׁ תִּקְוָ֑ה וְ֝חָפַרְתָּ֗ לָבֶ֥טַח תִּשְׁכָּֽב׃Jb 11:18
You shall be secure, because there is hope.
Yes, you shall search, and shall take your rest in safety.

And thou shalt be confident, because thou hast hope; and peace shall dawn to thee from out of anxiety and care.

19Jb 11:1919וְֽ֭רָבַצְתָּ וְאֵ֣ין מַחֲרִ֑יד וְחִלּ֖וּ פָנֶ֣יךָ רַבִּֽים׃Jb 11:19

Yes, many shall court your favor.

For thou shalt be at ease, and there shall be no one to fight against thee; and many shall charge, and make supplication to thee.

20Jb 11:2020וְעֵינֵ֥י רְשָׁעִ֗ים תִּ֫כְלֶ֥ינָה וּ֭מָנוֹס אָבַ֣ד מִנְהֶ֑ם וְ֝תִקְוָתָ֗ם מַֽפַּח־נָֽפֶשׁ׃ פ Jb 11:20
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail.
They shall have no way to flee.
Their hope shall be the giving up of the spirit.”
Jb 11:20Jb 11:20σωτηρία δὲ αὐτοὺς ἀπολείψει ἡ γὰρ ἐλπὶς αὐτῶν ἀπώλεια ὀφθαλμοὶ δὲ ἀσεβῶν τακήσονταιJb 11:20
But safety shall fail them; for their hope is destruction, and the eyes of the ungodly shall waste away.
Jb 11:20
But the eyes of the wicked shall fail.
They shall have no way to flee.
