“Come down, and sit in the dust, virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground without a throne, daughter of the Chaldeans: for you shall no more be called tender and delicate.
Is 47:1Is 47:1κατάβηθι κάθισον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν παρθένος θυγάτηρ Βαβυλῶνος εἴσελθε εἰς τὸ σκότος θυγάτηρ Χαλδαίων ὅτι οὐκέτι προστεθήσῃ κληθῆναι ἁπαλὴ καὶ τρυφεράIs 47:1
Come down, sit on the ground, O virgin daughter of Babylon: sit on the ground, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and luxurious.

2Is 47:22קְחִ֥י רֵחַ֖יִם וְטַ֣חֲנִי קָ֑מַח גַּלִּ֨י צַמָּתֵ֧ךְ חֶשְׂפִּי־שֹׁ֛בֶל גַּלִּי־שׁ֖וֹק עִבְרִ֥י נְהָרֽוֹת׃Is 47:2
Take the millstones, and grind meal; remove your veil, strip off the train, uncover the leg, pass through the rivers.

3Is 47:33תִּגָּל֙ עֶרְוָתֵ֔ךְ גַּ֥ם תֵּרָאֶ֖ה חֶרְפָּתֵ֑ךְ נָקָ֣ם אֶקָּ֔ח וְלֹ֥א אֶפְגַּ֖ע אָדָֽם׃ ס Is 47:3
Your nakedness shall be uncovered, yes, your shame shall be seen: I will take vengeance, and will spare no man.”

6Is 47:66קָצַ֣פְתִּי עַל־עַמִּ֗י חִלַּ֙לְתִּי֙ נַחֲלָתִ֔י וָאֶתְּנֵ֖ם בְּיָדֵ֑ךְ לֹא־שַׂ֤מְתְּ לָהֶם֙ רַחֲמִ֔ים עַל־זָקֵ֕ן הִכְבַּ֥דְתְּ עֻלֵּ֖ךְ מְאֹֽד׃Is 47:6
I was angry with my people, I profaned my inheritance, and gave them into your hand: you showed them no mercy; on the aged you have very heavily laid your yoke.

I have been provoked with my people; thou hast defiled mine inheritance: I gave them into thy hand, but thou didst not extend mercy to them: thou madest the yoke of the aged man very heavy,

I was angry with my people, I profaned my inheritance, and gave them into your hand: you showed them no mercy; on the aged you have very heavily laid your yoke.
I was provoked upon my people, you polluted my inheritance, I gave into your hand, you haven't given them mercy, you were weighed down excessivly by the yoke of your elder.

You said, I shall be mistress forever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the latter end of it.

and saidst, I shall be a princess for ever: thou didst not perceive these things in thine heart, nor didst thou remember the latter end.
Is 47:7You said, I shall be mistress forever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the latter end of it.
and you said, "in the beginning of the age, you will not decern these things in your heart nor remember the last.

But now hear these words, thou luxurious one, who art the one that sits at ease, that is secure, that says in her heart, I am, and there is not another; I shall not sit a widow, neither shall I know bereavement.

“Now therefore hear this, you who are given to pleasures, who sit securely, who say in your heart, I am, and there is none else besides me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:
But now hear this you relying on delicacies who says in her heart "I am and there is no other, I will never be set as a widow, neither will I know loss of children.

But now these two things shall come upon thee suddenly in one day, the loss of children and widowhood shall come suddenly upon thee, for thy sorcery, for the strength of thine enchantments,
Is 47:9but these two things shall come to you in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come on you, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments.
Now, suddenly upon you these two things will arive in one day, widowhood and childlessness upon you suddenly come in your venom* in strength of your excessive charm

For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, No one sees me; your wisdom and your knowledge, it has perverted you, and you have said in your heart, I am, and there is none else besides me.
Is 47:10Is 47:10τῇ ἐλπίδι τῆς πονηρίας σου σὺ γὰρ εἶπας ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἑτέρα γνῶθι ὅτι ἡ σύνεσις τούτων καὶ ἡ πορνεία σου ἔσται σοι αἰσχύνη καὶ εἶπας τῇ καρδίᾳ σου ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν ἑτέραIs 47:10
for thy trusting in wickedness: for thou saidst, I am, and there is not another: know thou, the understanding of these things and thy harlotry shall be thy shame; for thou saidst in thy heart, I am, and there is not another.
Is 47:10For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, No one sees me; your wisdom and your knowledge, it has perverted you, and you have said in your heart, I am, and there is none else besides me.
¶By your trust in your wickedness you said "I am" (Ego Eimi) and 'no one else knows the discernment of these' and your promiscuity will be your shamefacedness and you said by your heart 'I am (Ego Eimi) and there is no other'.

Therefore evil will come on you; you won’t know when it dawns: and mischief will fall on you; you will not be able to put it away: and desolation shall come on you suddenly, which you don’t know.

And destruction shall come upon thee, and thou shalt not be aware; there shall be a pit, and thou shalt fall into it: and grief shall come upon thee, and thou shalt not be able to be clear; and destruction shall come suddenly upon thee, and thou shalt not know.
Is 47:11Therefore evil will come on you; you won’t know when it dawns: and mischief will fall on you; you will not be able to put it away: and desolation shall come on you suddenly, which you don’t know.
And distruction will arrive upon you and you will not know, pit, and you will have fallen into it, and misery will arive upon you and you will not be able to become clean and upon you distruction will suddenly arrive, and you will not know

Is 47:13Is 47:13κεκοπίακας ἐν ταῖς βουλαῖς σου στήτωσαν καὶ σωσάτωσάν σε οἱ ἀστρολόγοι τοῦ οὐρανοῦ οἱ ὁρῶντες τοὺς ἀστέρας ἀναγγειλάτωσάν σοι τί μέλλει ἐπὶ σὲ ἔρχεσθαιIs 47:13
Thou art wearied in thy counsels. Let now the astrologers of the heaven stand and deliver thee, let them that see the stars tell thee what is about to come upon thee.
Is 47:13You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels: let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save you from the things that shall come on you.
You have toiled in your plans let them save you, the astrologers of the heaven, those beholding the stars, let them proclaim to you what is about to be and to come upon you.

Behold, they all shall be burnt up as sticks in the fire; neither shall they at all deliver their life from the flame. Because thou hast coals of fire, sit thou upon them;
Is 47:14Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: it shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.
Behold all is like brush (grass) upon which, by fire, they will be burned up and out of the flame of which they will not rescue their life because you are as charcoal of fire set up on them.

15Is 47:1515כֵּ֥ן הָיוּ־לָ֖ךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יָגָ֑עַתְּ סֹחֲרַ֣יִךְ מִנְּעוּרַ֗יִךְ אִ֤ישׁ לְעֶבְרוֹ֙ תָּע֔וּ אֵ֖ין מוֹשִׁיעֵֽךְ׃ ס Is 47:15
Thus shall the things be to you in which you have labored: those who have trafficked with you from your youth shall wander everyone to his quarter; there shall be none to save you.
Is 47:15Is 47:15οὗτοι ἔσονταί σοι βοήθεια ἐκοπίασας ἐν τῇ μεταβολῇ σου ἐκ νεότητος ἄνθρωπος καθ’ ἑαυτὸν ἐπλανήθη σοὶ δὲ οὐκ ἔσται σωτηρίαIs 47:15
these shall be thy help. Thou hast wearied thyself with traffic from thy youth: every man has wandered to his own home, but thou shalt have no deliverance.
Is 47:15Thus shall the things be to you in which you have labored: those who have trafficked with you from your youth shall wander everyone to his quarter; there shall be none to save you.
These will be help to you, You have toiled in your traffic from your youth, man on his own, misled by you and he will not be saved.
