Samaria will bear her guilt;
for she has rebelled against her God.
They will fall by the sword.
Their infants will be dashed in pieces,
and their pregnant women will be ripped open.”
Hos 14:1Hos 14:1ἀφανισθήσεται Σαμάρεια ὅτι ἀντέστη πρὸς τὸν θεὸν αὐτῆς ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ πεσοῦνται αὐτοί καὶ τὰ ὑποτίτθια αὐτῶν ἐδαφισθήσονται καὶ αἱ ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσαι αὐτῶν διαρραγήσονται1
Hos 13:16

2Hos 14:12שׁ֚וּבָה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל עַ֖ד יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ כִּ֥י כָשַׁ֖לְתָּ בַּעֲוֹנֶֽךָ׃Hos 14:1
Israel, return to Yahweh your God;
for you have fallen because of your sin.
Hos 14:2Hos 14:2ἐπιστράφητι Ισραηλ πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεόν σου διότι ἠσθένησας ἐν ταῖς ἀδικίαις σουHos 14:1
Samaria shall be utterly destroyed: for she has resisted her God; they shall fall by the sword, and their sucklings shall be dashed against the ground, and their women with child ripped up.
Hos 14:1
Israel, return to Yahweh your God;
for you have fallen because of your sin.
3Hos 14:23קְח֤וּ עִמָּכֶם֙ דְּבָרִ֔ים וְשׁ֖וּבוּ אֶל־יְהוָ֑ה אִמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֗יו כָּל־תִּשָּׂ֤א עָוֹן֙ וְקַח־ט֔וֹב וּֽנְשַׁלְּמָ֥ה פָרִ֖ים שְׂפָתֵֽינוּ׃Hos 14:2
Take words with you, and return to Yahweh.
Tell him, “Forgive all our sins,
and accept that which is good:
so we offer our lips like bulls.
Hos 14:3Hos 14:3λάβετε μεθ’ ἑαυτῶν λόγους καὶ ἐπιστράφητε πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμῶν εἴπατε αὐτῷ ὅπως μὴ λάβητε ἀδικίαν καὶ λάβητε ἀγαθά καὶ ἀνταποδώσομεν καρπὸν χειλέων ἡμῶνHos 14:2
Return, O Israel, to the Lord thy God; for the people have fallen through thine iniquities.
Hos 14:2
Take words with you, and return to Yahweh.
Tell him, “Forgive all our sins,
and accept that which is good:

4Hos 14:34אַשּׁ֣וּר ׀ לֹ֣א יוֹשִׁיעֵ֗נוּ עַל־סוּס֙ לֹ֣א נִרְכָּ֔ב וְלֹא־נֹ֥אמַר ע֛וֹד אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ לְמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה יָדֵ֑ינוּ אֲשֶׁר־בְּךָ֖ יְרֻחַ֥ם יָתֽוֹם׃Hos 14:3
Assyria can’t save us.
We won’t ride on horses;
neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, ‘Our gods!’
for in you the fatherless finds mercy.”
Hos 14:4Hos 14:4Ασσουρ οὐ μὴ σώσῃ ἡμᾶς ἐφ’ ἵππον οὐκ ἀναβησόμεθα οὐκέτι μὴ εἴπωμεν θεοὶ ἡμῶν τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν ἡμῶν ὁ ἐν σοὶ ἐλεήσει ὀρφανόνHos 14:3
Take with you words, and turn to the Lord your God: speak to him, that ye may not receive the reward of unrighteousness, but that ye may receive good things: and we will render in return the fruit of our lips.
Hos 14:3
Assyria can’t save us.

5Hos 14:45אֶרְפָּא֙ מְשׁ֣וּבָתָ֔ם אֹהֲבֵ֖ם נְדָבָ֑ה כִּ֛י שָׁ֥ב אַפִּ֖י מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃Hos 14:4
“I will heal their waywardness.
I will love them freely;
for my anger is turned away from him.
Hos 14:5Hos 14:5ἰάσομαι τὰς κατοικίας αὐτῶν ἀγαπήσω αὐτοὺς ὁμολόγως ὅτι ἀπέστρεψεν ἡ ὀργή μου ἀπ’ αὐτῶνHos 14:4
Assur shall never save us; we will not mount on horseback; we will no longer say to the works of our hands, Our gods. He who is in thee shall pity the orphan.
Hos 14:4
“I will heal their waywardness.
I will love them freely;

6Hos 14:56אֶהְיֶ֤ה כַטַּל֙ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יִפְרַ֖ח כַּשּֽׁוֹשַׁנָּ֑ה וְיַ֥ךְ שָׁרָשָׁ֖יו כַּלְּבָנֽוֹן׃Hos 14:5
I will be like the dew to Israel.
He will blossom like the lily,
and send down his roots like Lebanon.
Hos 14:6Hos 14:6ἔσομαι ὡς δρόσος τῷ Ισραηλ ἀνθήσει ὡς κρίνον καὶ βαλεῖ τὰς ῥίζας αὐτοῦ ὡς ὁ ΛίβανοςHos 14:5
I will restore their dwellings, I will love them truly: for he has turned away my wrath from him.
Hos 14:5
I will be like the dew to Israel.
He will blossom like the lily,
and send down his roots like Lebanon.
7Hos 14:67יֵֽלְכוּ֙ יֹֽנְקוֹתָ֔יו וִיהִ֥י כַזַּ֖יִת הוֹד֑וֹ וְרֵ֥יחַֽ ל֖וֹ כַּלְּבָנֽוֹן׃Hos 14:6
His branches will spread,
and his beauty will be like the olive tree,
and his fragrance like Lebanon.
Hos 14:7Hos 14:7πορεύσονται οἱ κλάδοι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔσται ὡς ἐλαία κατάκαρπος καὶ ἡ ὀσφρασία αὐτοῦ ὡς ΛιβάνουHos 14:6
I will be as dew to Israel: he shall bloom as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Libanus.
Hos 14:6
His branches will spread,
and his beauty will be like the olive tree,
and his fragrance like Lebanon.
8Hos 14:78יָשֻׁ֙בוּ֙ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י בְצִלּ֔וֹ יְחַיּ֥וּ דָגָ֖ן וְיִפְרְח֣וּ כַגָּ֑פֶן זִכְר֖וֹ כְּיֵ֥ין לְבָנֽוֹן׃ ס Hos 14:7
Men will dwell in his shade.
They will revive like the grain,
and blossom like the vine.
Their fragrance will be like the wine of Lebanon.
Hos 14:8Hos 14:8ἐπιστρέψουσιν καὶ καθιοῦνται ὑπὸ τὴν σκέπην αὐτοῦ ζήσονται καὶ μεθυσθήσονται σίτῳ καὶ ἐξανθήσει ὡς ἄμπελος τὸ μνημόσυνον αὐτοῦ ὡς οἶνος ΛιβάνουHos 14:7
His branches shall spread, and he shall be as a fruitful olive, and his smell shall be as the smell of Libanus.
Hos 14:7
Men will dwell in his shade.
They will revive like the grain,
and blossom like the vine.
Their fragrance will be like the wine of Lebanon.
9Hos 14:89אֶפְרַ֕יִם מַה־לִּ֥י ע֖וֹד לָֽעֲצַבִּ֑ים אֲנִ֧י עָנִ֣יתִי וַאֲשׁוּרֶ֗נּוּ אֲנִי֙ כִּבְר֣וֹשׁ רַֽעֲנָ֔ן מִמֶּ֖נִּי פֶּרְיְךָ֥ נִמְצָֽא׃Hos 14:8
Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols?
I answer, and will take care of him.
I am like a green fir tree;
from me your fruit is found.”
Hos 14:9Hos 14:9τῷ Εφραιμ τί αὐτῷ ἔτι καὶ εἰδώλοις ἐγὼ ἐταπείνωσα αὐτόν καὶ ἐγὼ κατισχύσω αὐτόν ἐγὼ ὡς ἄρκευθος πυκάζουσα ἐξ ἐμοῦ ὁ καρπός σου εὕρηταιHos 14:8
They shall return, and dwell under his shadow: they shall live and be satisfied with corn, and he shall flower as a vine: his memorial shall be to Ephraim as the wine of Libanus.
Hos 14:8
Ephraim, what have I to do any more with idols?
I answer, and will take care of him.
I am like a green fir tree;
from me your fruit is found.”
10Hos 14:910מִ֤י חָכָם֙ וְיָ֣בֵֽן אֵ֔לֶּה נָב֖וֹן וְיֵֽדָעֵ֑ם כִּֽי־יְשָׁרִ֞ים דַּרְכֵ֣י יְהוָ֗ה וְצַדִּקִים֙ יֵ֣לְכוּ בָ֔ם וּפֹשְׁעִ֖ים יִכָּ֥שְׁלוּ בָֽם׃Hos 14:9
Who is wise, that he may understand these things?
Who is prudent, that he may know them?
For the ways of Yahweh are right,
and the righteous walk in them;
But the rebellious stumble in them.
Hos 14:10Hos 14:10τίς σοφὸς καὶ συνήσει ταῦτα ἢ συνετὸς καὶ ἐπιγνώσεται αὐτά διότι εὐθεῖαι αἱ ὁδοὶ τοῦ κυρίου καὶ δίκαιοι πορεύσονται ἐν αὐταῖς οἱ δὲ ἀσεβεῖς ἀσθενήσουσιν ἐν αὐταῖςHos 14:9
What has he to do any more with idols? I have afflicted him, and I will strengthen him: I am as a leafy juniper tree. From me is thy fruit found.
Hos 14:9
Who is wise, that he may understand these things?
Who is prudent, that he may know them?
For the ways of Yahweh are right,
and the righteous walk in them;
But the rebellious stumble in them.
