¶Thus says Yahweh:
“For three transgressions of Moab, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime;
Am 2:1Am 2:1τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις Μωαβ καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτόν ἀνθ’ ὧν κατέκαυσαν τὰ ὀστᾶ βασιλέως τῆς Ιδουμαίας εἰς κονίανAm 2:1
Thus saith the Lord; For three sins of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away from it; because they burnt the bones of the king of Idumea to lime.
Am 2:1
¶Thus says Yahweh:
“For three transgressions of Moab, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because he burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime;
2Am 2:22וְשִׁלַּחְתִּי־אֵ֣שׁ בְּמוֹאָ֔ב וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֣וֹת הַקְּרִיּ֑וֹת וּמֵ֤ת בְּשָׁאוֹן֙ מוֹאָ֔ב בִּתְרוּעָ֖ה בְּק֥וֹל שׁוֹפָֽר׃Am 2:2
but I will send a fire on Moab,
and it will devour the palaces of Kerioth;
and Moab will die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet;
Am 2:2Am 2:2καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ πῦρ ἐπὶ Μωαβ καὶ καταφάγεται θεμέλια τῶν πόλεων αὐτῆς καὶ ἀποθανεῖται ἐν ἀδυναμίᾳ Μωαβ μετὰ κραυγῆς καὶ μετὰ φωνῆς σάλπιγγοςAm 2:2
But I will send forth a fire on Moab, and it shall devour the foundations of its cities: and Moab shall perish in weakness, with a shout, and with the sound of a trumpet.
Am 2:2
but I will send a fire on Moab,
and it will devour the palaces of Kerioth;

3Am 2:33וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י שׁוֹפֵ֖ט מִקִּרְבָּ֑הּ וְכָל־שָׂרֶ֛יהָ אֶהֱר֥וֹג עִמּ֖וֹ אָמַ֥ר יְהוָֽה׃ פ Am 2:3
and I will cut off the judge from their midst,
and will kill all its princes with him,”

says Yahweh.
Am 2:3Am 2:3καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω κριτὴν ἐξ αὐτῆς καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας αὐτῆς ἀποκτενῶ μετ’ αὐτοῦ λέγει κύριοςAm 2:3
And I will destroy the judge out of her, and slay all her princes with him, saith the Lord.
Am 2:3
and I will cut off the judge from their midst,
and will kill all its princes with him,”

says Yahweh.
4Am 2:44כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י יְהוּדָ֔ה וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַֽל־מָאֳסָ֞ם אֶת־תּוֹרַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה וְחֻקָּיו֙ לֹ֣א שָׁמָ֔רוּ וַיַּתְעוּם֙ כִּזְבֵיהֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־הָלְכ֥וּ אֲבוֹתָ֖ם אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃Am 2:4
¶Thus says Yahweh:
“For three transgressions of Judah, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because they have rejected Yahweh’s law,
and have not kept his statutes,
and their lies have led them astray,
after which their fathers walked;
Am 2:4Am 2:4τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις υἱῶν Ιουδα καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτόν ἕνεκα τοῦ ἀπώσασθαι αὐτοὺς τὸν νόμον κυρίου καὶ τὰ προστάγματα αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐφυλάξαντο καὶ ἐπλάνησεν αὐτοὺς τὰ μάταια αὐτῶν ἃ ἐποίησαν οἷς ἐξηκολούθησαν οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν ὀπίσω αὐτῶνAm 2:4
Thus saith the Lord; For three sins of the children of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away from him; because they have rejected the law of the Lord, and have not kept his ordinances, and their vain idols which they made, which their fathers followed, caused them to err.
Am 2:4
¶Thus says Yahweh:
“For three transgressions of Judah, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because they have rejected Yahweh’s law,
and have not kept his statutes,
and their lies have led them astray,
after which their fathers walked;
5Am 2:55וְשִׁלַּ֥חְתִּי אֵ֖שׁ בִּֽיהוּדָ֑ה וְאָכְלָ֖ה אַרְמְנ֥וֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ פ Am 2:5
But I will send a fire on Judah,
and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”
Am 2:5Am 2:5καὶ ἐξαποστελῶ πῦρ ἐπὶ Ιουδαν καὶ καταφάγεται θεμέλια ΙερουσαλημAm 2:5
And I will send a fire on Juda, and it shall devour the foundations of Jerusalem.
Am 2:5
But I will send a fire on Judah,
and it will devour the palaces of Jerusalem.”
6Am 2:66כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה עַל־שְׁלֹשָׁה֙ פִּשְׁעֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְעַל־אַרְבָּעָ֖ה לֹ֣א אֲשִׁיבֶ֑נּוּ עַל־מִכְרָ֤ם בַּכֶּ֙סֶף֙ צַדִּ֔יק וְאֶבְי֖וֹן בַּעֲב֥וּר נַעֲלָֽיִם׃Am 2:6
¶Thus says Yahweh:
“For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because they have sold the righteous for silver,
and the needy for a pair of shoes;
Am 2:6Am 2:6τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐπὶ ταῖς τρισὶν ἀσεβείαις Ισραηλ καὶ ἐπὶ ταῖς τέσσαρσιν οὐκ ἀποστραφήσομαι αὐτόν ἀνθ’ ὧν ἀπέδοντο ἀργυρίου δίκαιον καὶ πένητα ἕνεκεν ὑποδημάτωνAm 2:6
Thus saith the Lord; for three sins of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away from him; because they sold the righteous for silver, and the poor for sandals,
Am 2:6
¶Thus says Yahweh:
“For three transgressions of Israel, yes, for four,
I will not turn away its punishment;
because they have sold the righteous for silver,
and the needy for a pair of shoes;
7Am 2:77הַשֹּׁאֲפִ֤ים עַל־עֲפַר־אֶ֙רֶץ֙ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ דַּלִּ֔ים וְדֶ֥רֶךְ עֲנָוִ֖ים יַטּ֑וּ וְאִ֣ישׁ וְאָבִ֗יו יֵֽלְכוּ֙ אֶל־הַֽנַּעֲרָ֔ה לְמַ֥עַן חַלֵּ֖ל אֶת־שֵׁ֥ם קָדְשִֽׁי׃Am 2:7
They trample on the dust of the earth on the head of the poor,
and deny justice to the oppressed;
and a man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name;
Am 2:7Am 2:7τὰ πατοῦντα ἐπὶ τὸν χοῦν τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐκονδύλιζον εἰς κεφαλὰς πτωχῶν καὶ ὁδὸν ταπεινῶν ἐξέκλιναν καὶ υἱὸς καὶ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ εἰσεπορεύοντο πρὸς τὴν αὐτὴν παιδίσκην ὅπως βεβηλώσωσιν τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶνAm 2:7
wherewith to tread on the dust of the earth, and they have smitten upon the heads of the poor, and have perverted the way of the lowly: and a son and his father have gone into the same maid, that they might profane the name of their God.
Am 2:7
They trample on the dust of the earth on the head of the poor,
and deny justice to the oppressed;
and a man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name;
8Am 2:88וְעַל־בְּגָדִ֤ים חֲבֻלִים֙ יַטּ֔וּ אֵ֖צֶל כָּל־מִזְבֵּ֑חַ וְיֵ֤ין עֲנוּשִׁים֙ יִשְׁתּ֔וּ בֵּ֖ית אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃Am 2:8
and they lay themselves down beside every altar on clothes taken in pledge;
and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.
Am 2:8Am 2:8καὶ τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτῶν δεσμεύοντες σχοινίοις παραπετάσματα ἐποίουν ἐχόμενα τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου καὶ οἶνον ἐκ συκοφαντιῶν ἔπινον ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ θεοῦ αὐτῶνAm 2:8
And binding their clothes with cords they have made them curtains near the altar, and they have drunk wine gained by extortion in the house of their God.
Am 2:8
and they lay themselves down beside every altar on clothes taken in pledge;
and in the house of their God they drink the wine of those who have been fined.
9Am 2:99וְאָ֨נֹכִ֜י הִשְׁמַ֤דְתִּי אֶת־הָֽאֱמֹרִי֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר כְּגֹ֤בַהּ אֲרָזִים֙ גָּבְה֔וֹ וְחָסֹ֥ן ה֖וּא כָּֽאַלּוֹנִ֑ים וָאַשְׁמִ֤יד פִּרְיוֹ֙ מִמַּ֔עַל וְשָׁרָשָׁ֖יו מִתָּֽחַת׃Am 2:9
Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them,
whose height was like the height of the cedars,
and he was strong as the oaks;
yet I destroyed his fruit from above,
and his roots from beneath.
Am 2:9Am 2:9ἐγὼ δὲ ἐξῆρα τὸν Αμορραῖον ἐκ προσώπου αὐτῶν οὗ ἦν καθὼς ὕψος κέδρου τὸ ὕψος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἰσχυρὸς ἦν ὡς δρῦς καὶ ἐξῆρα τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπάνωθεν καὶ τὰς ῥίζας αὐτοῦ ὑποκάτωθενAm 2:9
Nevertheless I cut off the Amorite from before them, whose height was as the height of a cedar, and he was strong as an oak; and I dried up his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath.
Am 2:9
Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them,
whose height was like the height of the cedars,
and he was strong as the oaks;
yet I destroyed his fruit from above,
and his roots from beneath.
10Am 2:1010וְאָנֹכִ֛י הֶעֱלֵ֥יתִי אֶתְכֶ֖ם מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וָאוֹלֵ֨ךְ אֶתְכֶ֤ם בַּמִּדְבָּר֙ אַרְבָּעִ֣ים שָׁנָ֔ה לָרֶ֖שֶׁת אֶת־אֶ֥רֶץ הָאֱמֹרִֽי׃Am 2:10
Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt,
and led you forty years in the wilderness,
to possess the land of the Amorite.
Am 2:10Am 2:10καὶ ἐγὼ ἀνήγαγον ὑμᾶς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ περιήγαγον ὑμᾶς ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη τοῦ κατακληρονομῆσαι τὴν γῆν τῶν ΑμορραίωνAm 2:10
And I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and led you about in the desert forty years, that ye should inherit the land of the Amorites.
Am 2:10
Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt,
and led you forty years in the wilderness,
to possess the land of the Amorite.
11Am 2:1111וָאָקִ֤ים מִבְּנֵיכֶם֙ לִנְבִיאִ֔ים וּמִבַּחוּרֵיכֶ֖ם לִנְזִרִ֑ים הַאַ֥ף אֵֽין־זֹ֛את בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃Am 2:11
I raised up some of your sons for prophets,
and some of your young men for Nazirites.
Isn’t this true,
you children of Israel?” says Yahweh.
Am 2:11Am 2:11καὶ ἔλαβον ἐκ τῶν υἱῶν ὑμῶν εἰς προφήτας καὶ ἐκ τῶν νεανίσκων ὑμῶν εἰς ἁγιασμόν μὴ οὐκ ἔστιν ταῦτα υἱοὶ Ισραηλ λέγει κύριοςAm 2:11
And I took of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for consecration. Are not these things so, ye sons of Israel? saith the Lord.
Am 2:11
I raised up some of your sons for prophets,
and some of your young men for Nazirites.
Isn’t this true,
you children of Israel?” says Yahweh.
12Am 2:1212וַתַּשְׁק֥וּ אֶת־הַנְּזִרִ֖ים יָ֑יִן וְעַל־הַנְּבִיאִים֙ צִוִּיתֶ֣ם לֵאמֹ֔ר לֹ֖א תִּנָּבְאֽוּ׃Am 2:12
“But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink,
and commanded the prophets, saying, ‘Don’t prophesy!’
Am 2:12Am 2:12καὶ ἐποτίζετε τοὺς ἡγιασμένους οἶνον καὶ τοῖς προφήταις ἐνετέλλεσθε λέγοντες οὐ μὴ προφητεύσητεAm 2:12
But ye gave the consecrated ones wine to drink; and ye commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not.
Am 2:12
“But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink,
and commanded the prophets, saying, ‘Don’t prophesy!’
13Am 2:1313הִנֵּ֛ה אָנֹכִ֥י מֵעִ֖יק תַּחְתֵּיכֶ֑ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר תָּעִיק֙ הָעֲגָלָ֔ה הַֽמְלֵאָ֥ה לָ֖הּ עָמִֽיר׃Am 2:13
Behold, I will crush you in your place,
as a cart crushes that is full of grain.
Am 2:13Am 2:13διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ κυλίω ὑποκάτω ὑμῶν ὃν τρόπον κυλίεται ἡ ἅμαξα ἡ γέμουσα καλάμηςAm 2:13
Therefore, behold, I roll under you, as a waggon full of straw is rolled.
Am 2:13
Behold, I will crush you in your place,
as a cart crushes that is full of grain.
14Am 2:1414וְאָבַ֤ד מָנוֹס֙ מִקָּ֔ל וְחָזָ֖ק לֹא־יְאַמֵּ֣ץ כֹּח֑וֹ וְגִבּ֖וֹר לֹא־יְמַלֵּ֥ט נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃Am 2:14
Flight will perish from the swift;
and the strong won’t strengthen his force;
neither shall the mighty deliver himself;
Am 2:14Am 2:14καὶ ἀπολεῖται φυγὴ ἐκ δρομέως καὶ ὁ κραταιὸς οὐ μὴ κρατήσῃ τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ μαχητὴς οὐ μὴ σώσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦAm 2:14
And flight shall perish from the runner, and the strong shall not hold fast his strength, and the warrior shall not save his life:
Am 2:14
Flight will perish from the swift;
and the strong won’t strengthen his force;
neither shall the mighty deliver himself;
15Am 2:1515וְתֹפֵ֤שׂ הַקֶּ֙שֶׁת֙ לֹ֣א יַעֲמֹ֔ד וְקַ֥ל בְּרַגְלָ֖יו לֹ֣א יְמַלֵּ֑ט וְרֹכֵ֣ב הַסּ֔וּס לֹ֥א יְמַלֵּ֖ט נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃Am 2:15
neither shall he stand who handles the bow;
and he who is swift of foot won’t escape;
neither shall he who rides the horse deliver himself;
Am 2:15Am 2:15καὶ ὁ τοξότης οὐ μὴ ὑποστῇ καὶ ὁ ὀξὺς τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτοῦ οὐ μὴ διασωθῇ οὐδὲ ὁ ἱππεὺς οὐ μὴ σώσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦAm 2:15
and the archer shall not withstand, and he that is swift of foot shall in no wise escape; and the horseman shall not save his life.
Am 2:15
neither shall he stand who handles the bow;
and he who is swift of foot won’t escape;
neither shall he who rides the horse deliver himself;
16Am 2:1616וְאַמִּ֥יץ לִבּ֖וֹ בַּגִּבּוֹרִ֑ים עָר֛וֹם יָנ֥וּס בַּיּוֹם־הַה֖וּא נְאֻם־יְהוָֽה׃ פ Am 2:16
and he who is courageous among the mighty will flee away naked on that day,”

says Yahweh.
Am 2:16Am 2:16καὶ εὑρήσει τὴν καρδίαν αὐτοῦ ἐν δυναστείαις ὁ γυμνὸς διώξεται ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ λέγει κύριοςAm 2:16
And the strong shall find no confidence in power: the naked shall flee away in that day, saith the Lord.
Am 2:16
and he who is courageous among the mighty will flee away naked on that day,”

says Yahweh.
