¶It happened, when the kingdom of Rehoboam was established, and he was strong, that he forsook the law of Yahweh, and all Israel with him.
2Chr 12:12Chr 12:1καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἡτοιμάσθη ἡ βασιλεία Ροβοαμ καὶ ὡς κατεκρατήθη ἐγκατέλιπεν τὰς ἐντολὰς κυρίου καὶ πᾶς Ισραηλ μετ’ αὐτοῦ2Chr 12:1
And it came to pass when the kingdom of Roboam was established, and when he had grown strong, that he forsook the commandments of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

It happened in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had trespassed against Yahweh,

And it came to pass in the fifth year of the reign of Roboam, Susakim king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had sinned against the Lord,

He took the fortified cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.

And Samaias the prophet came to Roboam, and to the princes of Juda that were gathered to Jerusalem for fear of Susakim, and said to them, Thus said the Lord, Ye have left me, and I will leave you in the hand of Susakim.
2Chr 12:5Now Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, who were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘You have forsaken me, therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.’”and Samaias the prophet came to Rehoboam and to the rulers of Judah gathered in Jerusalem from the face of Sousakim and he told them "thus says The Lord 'you have utterly left me, therefore I will utterly leave you in the hands of Sousakim'"

¶Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, “Yahweh is righteous.”

¶When Yahweh saw that they humbled themselves, the word of Yahweh came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them; but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.
2Chr 12:72Chr 12:7καὶ ἐν τῷ ἰδεῖν κύριον ὅτι ἐνετράπησαν καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Σαμαιαν λέγων ἐνετράπησαν οὐ καταφθερῶ αὐτούς καὶ δώσω αὐτοὺς ὡς μικρὸν εἰς σωτηρίαν καὶ οὐ μὴ στάξῃ ὁ θυμός μου ἐν Ιερουσαλημ2Chr 12:7
And when the Lord saw that they repented, then came the word of the Lord to Samaias, saying, They have repented; I will not destroy them, but I will set them in safety for a little while, and my wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem.
2Chr 12:7¶When Yahweh saw that they humbled themselves, the word of Yahweh came to Shemaiah, saying, “They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them; but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.When The Lord beheld that they were ashamed, the Word of The Lord happened to Samaian saying "They were ashamed, I will not ruin them, and I will give them a small deliverance and my wrath will not be poured out in Jerusalem

King Rehoboam made in their place shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the captains of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house.

And king Roboam made brazen shields instead of them. And Susakim set over him captains of footmen, as keepers of the gate of the king.

And it came to pass, when the king went into the house of the Lord, the guards and the footmen went in, and they that returned to meet the footmen.

And when he repented, the anger of the Lord turned from him, and did not destroy him utterly; for there were good things in Juda.
2Chr 12:12When he humbled himself, the wrath of Yahweh turned from him, so as not to destroy him altogether: and moreover in Judah there were good things found.and in his humiliation the wrath of The Lord was truned away and it was not the end by destruction, for in Judah, the words were good.

And Roboam made war with Jeroboam all his days. And Roboam died with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abia his son reigned in his stead.
