1Mk 12:1¶He began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted a vineyard, put a hedge around it, dug a pit for the winepress, built a tower, rented it out to a farmer, and went into another country.Mt 21:33“Hear another parable. a Gr. ἀτιμάζω, to dishonor. The farmers seem to be ratcheting up their violence, from simple battery in 20:10 finally to murder in 20:15, such that dishonoring in 20:11 should probably be understood to be a significant escalation to the beating, and injuring in 20:12 possibly implies near death.

Mt 21:42¶Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures,
‘The stone which the builders rejected,
the same was made the head of the corner capstone.
This was from the Lord.
It is marvelous in our eyes?’*
Lk 20:17¶But he looked at them, and said, “Then what is this that is written,
‘The stone which the builders rejected,
the same was made the chief cornerstone capstone?’*
