a Gr. ἀτιμάζω, to dishonor. The farmers seem to be ratcheting up their violence, from simple battery in 20:10 finally to murder in 20:15, such that dishonoring in 20:11 should probably be understood to be a significant escalation to the beating, and injuring in 20:12 possibly implies near death.
