Jas 2:8
However, iIf you fulfill do what is required by the that royal law, which is according to eminent (above all but one) in the Scripture,[a] “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,”* truly you are doing well rightly.;
———
a Gk. βασιλικόν κατὰ τὴν γραφήν, lit., royal according to the scripture, royal law doesn't make sense, so perhaps royal signifies eminence but not preeminence; i.e., the second in greatness (see Mt. 22:36-39 and Mk. 12:28-31) only to the first and greatest commandment, which is to love the lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul (ἐντολὴ πρώτη πάντων [Mk. 12:28] and ἐντολὴ μεγάλη ἐν τῷ νόμῳ [Mt. 22:36]).
