royal lawdoesn't make sense, so perhaps
royalsignifies eminence but not preeminence; i.e., the second in greatness (see Mt. 22:36-39 and Mk. 12:28-31) only to the first and greatest commandment, which is to love the lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul (ἐντολὴ πρώτη πάντων [Mk. 12:28] and ἐντολὴ μεγάλη ἐν τῷ νόμῳ [Mt. 22:36]).
But be doers of the word, and not hears only...(ESV) and Jas. 1:25:
But the one who ... being no hearer ... but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing(ESV).
(1) After these things God tested Abraham and said to him,(ESV). (Heb. 11:19:Abraham!And he said,Here I am.(2) He said,Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.... (10) Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son. (11) But the angel of the Lord called to him from heaven and said,Abraham, Abraham! And he said,Here I am.(12) He said,Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.
He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back[ESV]).
(3) And Abram said,(ESV).Behold, you have given me no offspring, and a member of my household will be my heir.(4) And behold, the word of the Lord came to him:This man shall not be your heir; your very own son shall be your heir.(5) And he brought him outside and said,Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them. Then he said to him,So shall your offspring be.(6) And he believed the Lord, and he [the Lord] counted it to him [Abram] as righteousness [LXX: ἐλογίσθη αὐτῷ εἰς δικαιοσύνην, it was accounted to him as righteousness]
But you, Israel, my servant, Jacob, whom I have chosen, the offspring of Abraham, my friend...(ESV); also in 2 Chr. 20:7, Jehoshaphat's Prayer:
Did you not, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it forever to the descendants of Abraham your friend?(ESV).
the prostitutedifferentiates this Rahab from other Rahabs: Rehob [Ρααβ] in Num. 13:21, Jo. 19:28, Jo. 21:31; Jgs. 18:28; Rehob [Ρααβ] king of Zobah in 2 Kgs. 8:3, 12; Rahab [Ρααβ] (Egypt?) in Ps. 86:4.
I know that the Lord has given you the land ... the Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath....(Joshua 2:9-11 ESV); and she hide the Israelite spies, misdirected the King's pursuers, helped the spies escape, and did not
tell this business of ours(Joshua 9:14 ESV). As a consequence, Rahab
and her father's household and all who belonged to her, Joshua saved alive. And she has lived in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho(Joshua 6:25 ESV).
