¶Therefore remember that once you, (were)
once the Gentiles in the flesh, (those) whom
are called “uncircumcision” uncircumcised by
that which is the (rite) performed in the flesh by (human)
hands called “circumcision,” circumcision
(in the flesh, made by hands);[a]
a Note that τῆς λεγομένης περιτομῆς is fem. sg. and χειροποιήτου is 2nd decl. fem. sg. The hand-made thing called circumcision (rather than the ones who are circumcised) is what is calling the Gentiles uncircumcised. In other words, the fact of circumcision is what makes them uncircumcised (cuts them off—so to speak—from Israel).
