2nd Letter to Timothy
¶You therefore, my child, be strengthened empowered
in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
The things which you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the
same to faithful reliable[a] men, whoever
will be able up to the task[b] to teach
others also.

a Gk. συγκακοπαθέω, to suffer hardship together with. The context of soldiering here, though, suggests a focus not so much on suffering, but on shared sacrifice to put team and mission ahead of self.

Also, if anyone competes (in athletics), he isn’t
crowned unless he has competed [played] by the rules.
The farmers who labor must be the first to get a share of the crops.

¶Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my Good News,

chains as like a criminal. But God’s word isn’t
chained.
Therefore I endure all things for the chosen ones’ sake, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¶Remind them of these things, charging them testifying
sincerely in the sight of the Lord before God, that

¶Give diligence Endeavor to present show
yourself approved by God, an unabashed [b] workman
worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, properly
handling delivering the Wword of Ttruth

b ανεπαισχυντος: not fully without strength. επαισχυντος refers to being totally without the strength to perform -- hence, always embarrassed and subject to humilation. The exhortation is to have sufficient preparation in the Word to be able to explain.
c Genesis 4:7 If you offer correctly but do not DIVIDE CORRECTLY, have you not sinned??
ουκ εαν ορθως προσενεγκης ορθως δε μη διελης ημαρτες ησυχασον προς σε η αποστροφη αυτου και συ αρξεις αυτου
But shun eschew [steer clear of] empty chatter
the subversive [undermining] nonsense,[a] for they
it will proceed further advance
in ungodliness irreverance,

βεβήλους κενοφωνίας(see also 1 Timothy 6:20). Desecrative [see Heb. 12:1] empty-noises or -noisemaking. This presumably describes the misleading untruths such as in 2:18 that the resurrection has already happened, therefore
nonsense.

like gangrene, of whom is Hymenaeus[b] and
Philetus;,

Now in a large house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of clay. Some are for honor, and some for dishonor.

If anyone therefore purges himself from these, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, and suitable for the master’s use, prepared for every good work.
¶Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
But refuse spurn foolish and ignorant questionings,
knowing that they generate strife.

The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient,
