Ez. 40-48: 40:2 By means of divine visions he brought me to the land of Israel and placed me on a very high mountain, and on it was a structure like a city, to the south. 40:3 When he brought me there, I saw a man whose appearance was like bronze, with a linen cord and a measuring stick [LXX: σπαρτίον οἰκοδόμων καὶ κάλαμος μέτρου, a builder's line and a measuring reed (Brenton)] in his hand. He was standing in the gateway.... 43:5 Then a wind lifted me up and brought me to the inner court; I watched the glory of the Lord filling the temple. 43:6 I heard someone speaking to me from the temple, while the man was standing beside me. 43:7 He said to me: Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet, where I will live among the people of Israel forever.... 43:10 You, son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern (NET) and Zec 2:1-2: 2:1 (2:5) I looked again, and there was a man with a measuring line [LXX: σχοινίον γεωμετρικόν, a measuring line (Brenton)] in his hand. 2:2 I asked, Where are you going? He replied, To measure Jerusalem in order to determine its width and its length (NET).
