Ps 90:1
A Prayer of Moses the man of God. Lord, thou hast been our refuge in all generations.

(0) ¶A Prayer by Moses, the man of God. (1)
Lord, you have been our dwelling place for all generations.
Ps 90:1Ps 90:1תְּפִלָּה֮ לְמֹשֶׁ֪ה אִֽישׁ־הָאֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים אֲ‍ֽדֹנָ֗י מָע֣וֹן אַ֭תָּה הָיִ֥יתָ לָּ֗נוּ בְּדֹ֣ר וָדֹֽר׃Ps 90:0-1
(0) ¶A Prayer by Moses, the man of God. (1)
Lord, you have been our dwelling place for all generations.
2Ps 90:22πρὸ τοῦ ὄρη γενηθῆναι καὶ πλασθῆναι τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν οἰκουμένην καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἰῶνος ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος σὺ εἶPs 90:2
Before the mountains existed, and before the earth and the world were formed, even from age to age, Thou art.
Ps 90:2
Before the mountains were brought forth,
before you had formed the earth and the world,
even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
Ps 90:2Ps 90:2בְּטֶ֤רֶם ׀ הָ֘רִ֤ים יֻלָּ֗דוּ וַתְּח֣וֹלֵֽל אֶ֣רֶץ וְתֵבֵ֑ל וּֽמֵעוֹלָ֥ם עַד־ע֝וֹלָ֗ם אַתָּ֥ה אֵֽל׃Ps 90:2
Before the mountains were brought forth,
before you had formed the earth and the world,
even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
3Ps 90:33μὴ ἀποστρέψῃς ἄνθρωπον εἰς ταπείνωσιν καὶ εἶπας ἐπιστρέψατε υἱοὶ ἀνθρώπωνPs 90:3
Turn not man back to his low place, whereas thou saidst, Return, ye sons of men?
Ps 90:3
You turn man to destruction, saying,
“Return, you children of men.”
Ps 90:3Ps 90:3תָּשֵׁ֣ב אֱ֭נוֹשׁ עַד־דַּכָּ֑א וַ֝תֹּ֗אמֶר שׁ֣וּבוּ בְנֵי־אָדָֽם׃Ps 90:3
You turn man to destruction, saying,
“Return, you children of men.”
4Ps 90:44ὅτι χίλια ἔτη ἐν ὀφθαλμοῖς σου ὡς ἡ ἡμέρα ἡ ἐχθές ἥτις διῆλθεν καὶ φυλακὴ ἐν νυκτίPs 90:4
For a thousand years in thy sight are as the yesterday which is past, and as a watch in the night.
Ps 90:4
For a thousand years in your sight are just like yesterday when it is past,
like a watch in the night.
Ps 90:4Ps 90:4כִּ֤י אֶ֪לֶף שָׁנִ֡ים בְּֽעֵינֶ֗יךָ כְּי֣וֹם אֶ֭תְמוֹל כִּ֣י יַעֲבֹ֑ר וְאַשְׁמוּרָ֥ה בַלָּֽיְלָה׃Ps 90:4
For a thousand years in your sight are just like yesterday when it is past,
like a watch in the night.
5Ps 90:55τὰ ἐξουδενώματα αὐτῶν ἔτη ἔσονται τὸ πρωὶ ὡσεὶ χλόη παρέλθοιPs 90:5
Years shall be vanity to them: let the morning pass away as grass.
Ps 90:5
You sweep them away as they sleep.
In the morning they sprout like new grass.
Ps 90:5Ps 90:5זְ֭רַמְתָּם שֵׁנָ֣ה יִהְי֑וּ בַּ֝בֹּ֗קֶר כֶּחָצִ֥יר יַחֲלֹֽף׃Ps 90:5
You sweep them away as they sleep.

6Ps 90:66τὸ πρωὶ ἀνθήσαι καὶ παρέλθοι τὸ ἑσπέρας ἀποπέσοι σκληρυνθείη καὶ ξηρανθείηPs 90:6
In the morning let it flower, and pass away: in the evening let it droop, let it be withered and dried up.

In the morning it sprouts and springs up.
By evening, it is withered and dry.

7Ps 90:77ὅτι ἐξελίπομεν ἐν τῇ ὀργῇ σου καὶ ἐν τῷ θυμῷ σου ἐταράχθημενPs 90:7
For we have perished in thine anger, and in thy wrath we have been troubled.
Ps 90:7
For we are consumed in your anger.
We are troubled in your wrath.
Ps 90:7Ps 90:7כִּֽי־כָלִ֥ינוּ בְאַפֶּ֑ךָ וּֽבַחֲמָתְךָ֥ נִבְהָֽלְנוּ׃Ps 90:7
For we are consumed in your anger.

8Ps 90:88ἔθου τὰς ἀνομίας ἡμῶν ἐνώπιόν σου ὁ αἰὼν ἡμῶν εἰς φωτισμὸν τοῦ προσώπου σουPs 90:8
Thou hast set our transgressions before thee: our age is in the light of thy countenance.
Ps 90:8
You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
Ps 90:8Ps 90:8‏{ שת שַׁתָּ֣ה }‏ עֲוֹנֹתֵ֣ינוּ לְנֶגְדֶּ֑ךָ עֲ֝לֻמֵ֗נוּ לִמְא֥וֹר פָּנֶֽיךָ׃

Ps 90:8
You have set our iniquities before you,
our secret sins in the light of your presence.
9Ps 90:99ὅτι πᾶσαι αἱ ἡμέραι ἡμῶν ἐξέλιπον καὶ ἐν τῇ ὀργῇ σου ἐξελίπομεν τὰ ἔτη ἡμῶν ὡς ἀράχνην ἐμελέτωνPs 90:9
For all our days are gone, and we have passed away in thy wrath: our years have spun out their tale as a spider.
Ps 90:9
For all our days have passed away in your wrath.
We bring our years to an end as a sigh.
Ps 90:9Ps 90:9כִּ֣י כָל־יָ֭מֵינוּ פָּנ֣וּ בְעֶבְרָתֶ֑ךָ כִּלִּ֖ינוּ שָׁנֵ֣ינוּ כְמוֹ־הֶֽגֶה׃Ps 90:9
For all our days have passed away in your wrath.
We bring our years to an end as a sigh.
10Ps 90:1010αἱ ἡμέραι τῶν ἐτῶν ἡμῶν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἑβδομήκοντα ἔτη ἐὰν δὲ ἐν δυναστείαις ὀγδοήκοντα ἔτη καὶ τὸ πλεῖον αὐτῶν κόπος καὶ πόνος ὅτι ἐπῆλθεν πραΰτης ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς καὶ παιδευθησόμεθαPs 90:10
As for the days of our years, in them are seventy years; and if men should be in strength, eighty years: and the greater part of them would be labour and trouble; for weakness overtakes us, and we shall be chastened.

The days of our years are seventy,
or even by reason of strength eighty years;
yet their pride is but labor and sorrow,
for it passes quickly, and we fly away.

The days of our years are seventy,
or even by reason of strength eighty years;
yet their pride is but labor and sorrow,
for it passes quickly, and we fly away.
11Ps 90:1111τίς γινώσκει τὸ κράτος τῆς ὀργῆς σου καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ φόβου σου τὸν θυμόν σουPs 90:11
Who knows the power of thy wrath?
Ps 90:11
Who knows the power of your anger,
your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?
Ps 90:11Ps 90:11מִֽי־י֭וֹדֵעַ עֹ֣ז אַפֶּ֑ךָ וּ֝כְיִרְאָתְךָ֗ עֶבְרָתֶֽךָ׃Ps 90:11
Who knows the power of your anger,
your wrath according to the fear that is due to you?
12Ps 90:1212ἐξαριθμήσασθαι τὴν δεξιάν σου οὕτως γνώρισον καὶ τοὺς πεπεδημένους τῇ καρδίᾳ ἐν σοφίᾳPs 90:12
and who knows how to number his days because of the fear of thy wrath? So manifest thy right hand, and those that are instructed in wisdom in the heart.

So teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

So teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
13Ps 90:1313ἐπίστρεψον κύριε ἕως πότε καὶ παρακλήθητι ἐπὶ τοῖς δούλοις σουPs 90:13
Return, O Lord, how long? and be intreated concerning thy servants.

Have compassion on your servants!

14Ps 90:1414ἐνεπλήσθημεν τὸ πρωὶ τοῦ ἐλέους σου καὶ ἠγαλλιασάμεθα καὶ εὐφράνθημεν ἐν πάσαις ταῖς ἡμέραις ἡμῶνPs 90:14
We have been satisfied in the morning with thy mercy; and we did exult and rejoice:
Ps 90:14
Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Ps 90:14Ps 90:14שַׂבְּעֵ֣נוּ בַבֹּ֣קֶר חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ וּֽנְרַנְּנָ֥ה וְ֝נִשְׂמְחָ֗ה בְּכָל־יָמֵֽינוּ׃Ps 90:14
Satisfy us in the morning with your loving kindness,
that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15Ps 90:1515εὐφράνθημεν ἀνθ’ ὧν ἡμερῶν ἐταπείνωσας ἡμᾶς ἐτῶν ὧν εἴδομεν κακάPs 90:15
let us rejoice in all our days, in return for the days wherein thou didst afflict us, the years wherein we saw evil.
Ps 90:15
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen evil.

Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen evil.
16Ps 90:1616καὶ ἰδὲ ἐπὶ τοὺς δούλους σου καὶ τὰ ἔργα σου καὶ ὁδήγησον τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτῶνPs 90:16
And look upon thy servants, and upon thy works; and guide their children.
Ps 90:16
Let your work appear to your servants;
your glory to their children.
Ps 90:16Ps 90:16יֵרָאֶ֣ה אֶל־עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ פָעֳלֶ֑ךָ וַ֝הֲדָרְךָ֗ עַל־בְּנֵיהֶֽם׃Ps 90:16

17Ps 90:1717καὶ ἔστω ἡ λαμπρότης κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς καὶ τὰ ἔργα τῶν χειρῶν ἡμῶν κατεύθυνον ἐφ’ ἡμᾶςPs 90:17
And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and do thou direct for us the works of our hands.

Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us;
establish the work of our hands for us;
yes, establish the work of our hands.
