Ps 81:1
For the end, a Psalm for Asaph, concerning the wine-presses. Rejoice ye in God our helper; shout aloud to the God of Jacob.

2Ps 81:12ἀγαλλιᾶσθε τῷ θεῷ τῷ βοηθῷ ἡμῶν ἀλαλάξατε τῷ θεῷ Ιακωβ2
Ps 81:1
Sing aloud to God, our strength!
Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob!
Ps 81:2Ps 81:2הַ֭רְנִינוּ לֵאלֹהִ֣ים עוּזֵּ֑נוּ הָ֝רִ֗יעוּ לֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃Ps 81:1
Sing aloud to God, our strength!
Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob!
3Ps 81:23λάβετε ψαλμὸν καὶ δότε τύμπανον ψαλτήριον τερπνὸν μετὰ κιθάραςPs 81:2
Take a psalm, and produce the timbrel, the pleasant psaltery with the harp.
Ps 81:2
Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine,
the pleasant lyre with the harp.
Ps 81:3Ps 81:3שְֽׂאוּ־זִ֭מְרָה וּתְנוּ־תֹ֑ף כִּנּ֖וֹר נָעִ֣ים עִם־נָֽבֶל׃Ps 81:2
Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine,
the pleasant lyre with the harp.
4Ps 81:34σαλπίσατε ἐν νεομηνίᾳ σάλπιγγι ἐν εὐσήμῳ ἡμέρᾳ ἑορτῆς ἡμῶνPs 81:3
Blow the trumpet at the new moon, in the glorious day of your feast.
Ps 81:3
Blow the trumpet at the New Moon,
at the full moon, on our feast day.
Ps 81:4Ps 81:4תִּקְע֣וּ בַחֹ֣דֶשׁ שׁוֹפָ֑ר בַּ֝כֵּ֗סֶה לְי֣וֹם חַגֵּֽנוּ׃Ps 81:3
Blow the trumpet at the New Moon,
at the full moon, on our feast day.
5Ps 81:45ὅτι πρόσταγμα τῷ Ισραηλ ἐστὶν καὶ κρίμα τῷ θεῷ ΙακωβPs 81:4
For this is an ordinance for Israel, and a statute of the God of Jacob.

For it is a statute for Israel,
an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
Ps 81:5Ps 81:5כִּ֤י חֹ֣ק לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ה֑וּא מִ֝שְׁפָּ֗ט לֵאלֹהֵ֥י יַעֲקֹֽב׃Ps 81:4
For it is a statute for Israel,
an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
6Ps 81:56μαρτύριον ἐν τῷ Ιωσηφ ἔθετο αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ἐξελθεῖν αὐτὸν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου γλῶσσαν ἣν οὐκ ἔγνω ἤκουσενPs 81:5
He made it to be a testimony in Joseph, when he came forth out of the land of Egypt: he heard a language which he understood not.
Ps 81:5
He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony,
when he went out over the land of Egypt,
I heard a language that I didn’t know.
Ps 81:6Ps 81:6עֵ֤דוּת ׀ בִּֽיה֘וֹסֵ֤ף שָׂמ֗וֹ בְּ֭צֵאתוֹ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם שְׂפַ֖ת לֹא־יָדַ֣עְתִּי אֶשְׁמָֽע׃Ps 81:5
He appointed it in Joseph for a testimony,
when he went out over the land of Egypt,
I heard a language that I didn’t know.
7Ps 81:67ἀπέστησεν ἀπὸ ἄρσεων τὸν νῶτον αὐτοῦ αἱ χεῖρες αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ κοφίνῳ ἐδούλευσανPs 81:6
He removed his back from burdens: his hands slaved in making the baskets.
Ps 81:6
“I removed his shoulder from the burden.
His hands were freed from the basket.
Ps 81:7Ps 81:7הֲסִיר֣וֹתִי מִסֵּ֣בֶל שִׁכְמ֑וֹ כַּ֝פָּ֗יו מִדּ֥וּד תַּעֲבֹֽרְנָה׃Ps 81:6
“I removed his shoulder from the burden.
His hands were freed from the basket.
8Ps 81:78ἐν θλίψει ἐπεκαλέσω με καὶ ἐρρυσάμην σε ἐπήκουσά σου ἐν ἀποκρύφῳ καταιγίδος ἐδοκίμασά σε ἐπὶ ὕδατος ἀντιλογίας διάψαλμαPs 81:7
Thou didst call upon me in trouble, and I delivered thee; I heard thee in the secret place of the storm: I proved thee at the water of Strife. Pause.
Ps 81:7
You called in trouble, and I delivered you.
I answered you in the secret place of thunder.
I tested you at the waters of Meribah.”
Selah.
Ps 81:8Ps 81:8בַּצָּרָ֥ה קָרָ֗אתָ וָאֲחַ֫לְּצֶ֥ךָּ אֶ֭עֶנְךָ בְּסֵ֣תֶר רַ֑עַם אֶבְחָֽנְךָ֨ עַל־מֵ֖י מְרִיבָ֣ה סֶֽלָה׃Ps 81:7
You called in trouble, and I delivered you.
I answered you in the secret place of thunder.
I tested you at the waters of Meribah.”

9Ps 81:89ἄκουσον λαός μου καὶ διαμαρτύρομαί σοι Ισραηλ ἐὰν ἀκούσῃς μουPs 81:8
Hear, my people, and I will speak to thee, O Israel; and I will testify to thee: if thou wilt hearken to me;
Ps 81:8
“Hear, my people, and I will testify to you,
Israel, if you would listen to me!
Ps 81:9Ps 81:9שְׁמַ֣ע עַ֭מִּי וְאָעִ֣ידָה בָּ֑ךְ יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל אִם־תִּֽשְׁמַֽע־לִֽי׃Ps 81:8
“Hear, my people, and I will testify to you,
Israel, if you would listen to me!
10Ps 81:910οὐκ ἔσται ἐν σοὶ θεὸς πρόσφατος οὐδὲ προσκυνήσεις θεῷ ἀλλοτρίῳPs 81:9
there shall be no new god in thee; neither shalt thou worship a strange god.
Ps 81:9
There shall be no strange god in you,
neither shall you worship any foreign god.
Ps 81:10Ps 81:10לֹֽא־יִהְיֶ֣ה בְ֭ךָ אֵ֣ל זָ֑ר וְלֹ֥א תִ֝שְׁתַּחֲוֶ֗ה לְאֵ֣ל נֵכָֽר׃Ps 81:9
There shall be no strange god in you,
neither shall you worship any foreign god.
11Ps 81:1011ἐγὼ γάρ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεός σου ὁ ἀναγαγών σε ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου πλάτυνον τὸ στόμα σου καὶ πληρώσω αὐτόPs 81:10
For I am the Lord thy God, that brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Ps 81:10
I am Yahweh, your God,
who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.For I Am The Lord your God, The One who lead you out of Egypt; Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

Ps 81:11Ps 81:11אָנֹכִ֨י ׀ יְה֘וָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ הַֽ֭מַּעַלְךָ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם הַרְחֶב־פִּ֝֗יךָ וַאֲמַלְאֵֽהוּ׃Ps 81:10
I am Yahweh, your God,
who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.
Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
12Ps 81:1112καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσεν ὁ λαός μου τῆς φωνῆς μου καὶ Ισραηλ οὐ προσέσχεν μοιPs 81:11
But my people hearkened not to my voice; and Israel gave no heed to me.
Ps 81:11
But my people didn’t listen to my voice.
Israel desired none of me.
Ps 81:12Ps 81:12וְלֹא־שָׁמַ֣ע עַמִּ֣י לְקוֹלִ֑י וְ֝יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לֹא־אָ֥בָה לִֽי׃Ps 81:11
But my people didn’t listen to my voice.
Israel desired none of me.
13Ps 81:1213καὶ ἐξαπέστειλα αὐτοὺς κατὰ τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματα τῶν καρδιῶν αὐτῶν πορεύσονται ἐν τοῖς ἐπιτηδεύμασιν αὐτῶνPs 81:12
So I let them go after the ways of their own hearts: they will go on in their own ways.
Ps 81:12
So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts,
that they might walk in their own counsels.
Ps 81:13Ps 81:13וָֽ֭אֲשַׁלְּחֵהוּ בִּשְׁרִיר֣וּת לִבָּ֑ם יֵ֝לְכ֗וּ בְּֽמוֹעֲצוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃Ps 81:12
So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts,
that they might walk in their own counsels.
14Ps 81:1314εἰ ὁ λαός μου ἤκουσέν μου Ισραηλ ταῖς ὁδοῖς μου εἰ ἐπορεύθηPs 81:13
If my people had hearkened to me, if Israel had walked in my ways,
Ps 81:13
Oh that my people would listen to me,
that Israel would walk in my ways!
Ps 81:14Ps 81:14ל֗וּ עַ֭מִּי שֹׁמֵ֣עַֽ לִ֑י יִ֝שְׂרָאֵ֗ל בִּדְרָכַ֥י יְהַלֵּֽכוּ׃Ps 81:13
Oh that my people would listen to me,
that Israel would walk in my ways!
15Ps 81:1415ἐν τῷ μηδενὶ ἂν τοὺς ἐχθροὺς αὐτῶν ἐταπείνωσα καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς θλίβοντας αὐτοὺς ἐπέβαλον τὴν χεῖρά μουPs 81:14
I should have put down their enemies very quickly, and should have laid my hand upon those that afflicted them.
Ps 81:14
I would soon subdue their enemies,
and turn my hand against their adversaries.
Ps 81:15Ps 81:15כִּ֭מְעַט אוֹיְבֵיהֶ֣ם אַכְנִ֑יעַ וְעַ֥ל צָ֝רֵיהֶ֗ם אָשִׁ֥יב יָדִֽי׃Ps 81:14
I would soon subdue their enemies,
and turn my hand against their adversaries.
16Ps 81:1516οἱ ἐχθροὶ κυρίου ἐψεύσαντο αὐτῷ καὶ ἔσται ὁ καιρὸς αὐτῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶναPs 81:15
The Lord's enemies should have lied to him: but their time shall be for ever.
Ps 81:15
The haters of Yahweh would cringe before him,
and their punishment would last forever.
Ps 81:16Ps 81:16מְשַׂנְאֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה יְכַֽחֲשׁוּ־ל֑וֹ וִיהִ֖י עִתָּ֣ם לְעוֹלָֽם׃Ps 81:15
The haters of Yahweh would cringe before him,
and their punishment would last forever.
17Ps 81:1617καὶ ἐψώμισεν αὐτοὺς ἐκ στέατος πυροῦ καὶ ἐκ πέτρας μέλι ἐχόρτασεν αὐτούςPs 81:16
And he fed them with the fat of wheat; and satisfied them with honey out of the rock.
Ps 81:16
But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat.
I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock.”
Ps 81:17Ps 81:17וַֽ֭יַּאֲכִילֵהוּ מֵחֵ֣לֶב חִטָּ֑ה וּ֝מִצּ֗וּר דְּבַ֣שׁ אַשְׂבִּיעֶֽךָ׃Ps 81:16
But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat.
I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock.”
