εἰς τὸ τέλος τοῖς ἀλλοιωθησομένοις ἔτι εἰς στηλογραφίαν τῷ Δαυιδ εἰς διδαχήν
Ps 60:1
For the end, for them that shall yet be changed; for an inscription by David for instruction, when he had burned Mesopotamia of Syria, and Syria Sobal, and Joab had returned and smitten in the valley of salt twelve thousand. O God, thou hast rejected and destroyed us; thou hast been angry, yet hast pitied us.

222ὁπότε ἐνεπύρισεν τὴν Μεσοποταμίαν Συρίας καὶ τὴν Συρίαν Σωβα καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν Ιωαβ καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν φάραγγα τῶν ἁλῶν δώδεκα χιλιάδας2

Ps 60:2Ps 60:2בְּהַצּוֹת֨וֹ ׀ אֶ֥ת אֲרַ֣ם נַהֲרַיִם֮ וְאֶת־אֲרַ֪ם צ֫וֹבָ֥ה וַיָּ֤שָׁב יוֹאָ֗ב וַיַּ֣ךְ אֶת־אֱד֣וֹם בְּגֵיא־מֶ֑לַח שְׁנֵ֖ים עָשָׂ֣ר אָֽלֶף׃2
3Ps 60:13ὁ θεός ἀπώσω ἡμᾶς καὶ καθεῖλες ἡμᾶς ὠργίσθης καὶ οἰκτίρησας ἡμᾶς3
Ps 60:1
God, you have rejected us.
You have broken us down.
You have been angry.
Restore us, again.
Ps 60:3Ps 60:3אֱ֭לֹהִים זְנַחְתָּ֣נוּ פְרַצְתָּ֑נוּ אָ֝נַ֗פְתָּ תְּשׁ֣וֹבֵ֥ב לָֽנוּ׃Ps 60:1
God, you have rejected us.
You have broken us down.
You have been angry.
Restore us, again.
4Ps 60:24συνέσεισας τὴν γῆν καὶ συνετάραξας αὐτήν ἴασαι τὰ συντρίμματα αὐτῆς ὅτι ἐσαλεύθηPs 60:2
Thou hast shaken the earth, and troubled it; heal its breaches, for it has been shaken.
Ps 60:2
You have made the land tremble.
You have torn it.
Mend its fractures,
for it quakes.
Ps 60:4Ps 60:4הִרְעַ֣שְׁתָּה אֶ֣רֶץ פְּצַמְתָּ֑הּ רְפָ֖ה שְׁבָרֶ֣יהָ כִי־מָֽטָה׃Ps 60:2
You have made the land tremble.
You have torn it.
Mend its fractures,
for it quakes.
5Ps 60:35ἔδειξας τῷ λαῷ σου σκληρά ἐπότισας ἡμᾶς οἶνον κατανύξεωςPs 60:3
Thou hast shewn thy people hard things: thou has made us drink the wine of astonishment.
Ps 60:3
You have shown your people hard things.
You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger.
Ps 60:5Ps 60:5הִרְאִ֣יתָה עַמְּךָ֣ קָשָׁ֑ה הִ֝שְׁקִיתָ֗נוּ יַ֣יִן תַּרְעֵלָֽה׃Ps 60:3
You have shown your people hard things.
You have made us drink the wine that makes us stagger.
6Ps 60:46ἔδωκας τοῖς φοβουμένοις σε σημείωσιν τοῦ φυγεῖν ἀπὸ προσώπου τόξου διάψαλμαPs 60:4
Thou hast given a token to them that fear thee, that they might flee from the bow. Pause.
Ps 60:4
You have given a banner to those who fear you,
that it may be displayed because of the truth.
Selah.
Ps 60:6Ps 60:6נָ֘תַ֤תָּה לִּירֵאֶ֣יךָ נֵּ֭ס לְהִתְנוֹסֵ֑ס מִ֝פְּנֵ֗י קֹ֣שֶׁט סֶֽלָה׃Ps 60:4
You have given a banner to those who fear you,
that it may be displayed because of the truth.
Selah.
7Ps 60:57ὅπως ἂν ῥυσθῶσιν οἱ ἀγαπητοί σου σῶσον τῇ δεξιᾷ σου καὶ ἐπάκουσόν μουPs 60:5
That thy beloved ones may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.
Ps 60:5
So that your beloved may be delivered,
save with your right hand, and answer us.
Ps 60:7Ps 60:7לְ֭מַעַן יֵחָלְצ֣וּן יְדִידֶ֑יךָ הוֹשִׁ֖יעָה יְמִֽינְךָ֣ ‏{ ועננו וַעֲנֵֽנִי׃ }‏

Ketib: ועננו ⬪ Qere: וַעֲנֵֽנִי׃
Ps 60:5
So that your beloved may be delivered,
save with your right hand, and answer us.
8Ps 60:68ὁ θεὸς ἐλάλησεν ἐν τῷ ἁγίῳ αὐτοῦ ἀγαλλιάσομαι καὶ διαμεριῶ Σικιμα καὶ τὴν κοιλάδα τῶν σκηνῶν διαμετρήσωPs 60:6
God has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, and divide Sicima, and measure out the valley of tents.
Ps 60:6
God has spoken from his sanctuary:
“I will triumph.
I will divide Shechem,
and measure out the valley of Succoth.
Ps 60:8Ps 60:8אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀ דִּבֶּ֥ר בְּקָדְשׁ֗וֹ אֶ֫עְלֹ֥זָה אֲחַלְּקָ֥ה שְׁכֶ֑ם וְעֵ֖מֶק סֻכּ֣וֹת אֲמַדֵּֽד׃Ps 60:6
God has spoken from his sanctuary:
“I will triumph.
I will divide Shechem,
and measure out the valley of Succoth.
9Ps 60:79ἐμός ἐστιν Γαλααδ καὶ ἐμός ἐστιν Μανασση καὶ Εφραιμ κραταίωσις τῆς κεφαλῆς μου Ιουδας βασιλεύς μουPs 60:7
Galaad is mine, and Manasse is mine; and Ephraim is the strength of my head;
Ps 60:7
Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine.
Ephraim also is the defense of my head.
Judah is my scepter.
Ps 60:9Ps 60:9לִ֤י גִלְעָ֨ד ׀ וְלִ֬י מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה וְ֭אֶפְרַיִם מָע֣וֹז רֹאשִׁ֑י יְ֝הוּדָ֗ה מְחֹֽקְקִי׃Ps 60:7
Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine.
Ephraim also is the defense of my head.
Judah is my scepter.
10Ps 60:810Μωαβ λέβης τῆς ἐλπίδος μου ἐπὶ τὴν Ιδουμαίαν ἐκτενῶ τὸ ὑπόδημά μου ἐμοὶ ἀλλόφυλοι ὑπετάγησανPs 60:8
Judas is my king; Moab is the caldron of my hope; over Idumea will I stretch out my shoe; the Philistines have been subjected to me.
Ps 60:8
Moab is my wash basin.
I will throw my shoe on Edom.
I shout in triumph over Philistia.”
Ps 60:10Ps 60:10מוֹאָ֤ב ׀ סִ֬יר רַחְצִ֗י עַל־אֱ֭דוֹם אַשְׁלִ֣יךְ נַעֲלִ֑י עָ֝לַ֗י פְּלֶ֣שֶׁת הִתְרֹעָֽעִֽי׃Ps 60:8
Moab is my wash basin.
I will throw my shoe on Edom.
I shout in triumph over Philistia.”
11Ps 60:911τίς ἀπάξει με εἰς πόλιν περιοχῆς τίς ὁδηγήσει με ἕως τῆς ΙδουμαίαςPs 60:9
Who will lead me into the fortified city? who will guide me as far a Idumea?
Ps 60:9
Who will bring me into the strong city?
Who has led me to Edom?
Ps 60:11Ps 60:11מִ֣י יֹ֭בִלֵנִי עִ֣יר מָצ֑וֹר מִ֖י נָחַ֣נִי עַד־אֱדֽוֹם׃Ps 60:9
Who will bring me into the strong city?
Who has led me to Edom?
12Ps 60:1012οὐχὶ σύ ὁ θεός ὁ ἀπωσάμενος ἡμᾶς καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύσῃ ὁ θεός ἐν ταῖς δυνάμεσιν ἡμῶνPs 60:10
Wilt not thou, O God, who hast cast us off? and wilt not thou, O God, go forth with our forces?
Ps 60:10
Haven’t you, God, rejected us?
You don’t go out with our armies, God.
Ps 60:12Ps 60:12הֲלֹֽא־אַתָּ֣ה אֱלֹהִ֣ים זְנַחְתָּ֑נוּ וְֽלֹא־תֵצֵ֥א אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים בְּצִבְאוֹתֵֽינוּ׃Ps 60:10
Haven’t you, God, rejected us?
You don’t go out with our armies, God.
13Ps 60:1113δὸς ἡμῖν βοήθειαν ἐκ θλίψεως καὶ ματαία σωτηρία ἀνθρώπουPs 60:11
Give us help from trouble: for vain is the deliverance of man.
Ps 60:11
Give us help against the adversary,
for the help of man is vain.
Ps 60:13Ps 60:13הָֽבָה־לָּ֣נוּ עֶזְרָ֣ת מִצָּ֑ר וְ֝שָׁ֗וְא תְּשׁוּעַ֥ת אָדָם׃Ps 60:11
Give us help against the adversary,
for the help of man is vain.
14Ps 60:1214ἐν δὲ τῷ θεῷ ποιήσομεν δύναμιν καὶ αὐτὸς ἐξουδενώσει τοὺς θλίβοντας ἡμᾶςPs 60:12
In God will we do valiantly; and he shall bring to nought them that harass us.
Ps 60:12
Through God we shall do valiantly,
for it is he who will tread down our adversaries.
Ps 60:14Ps 60:14בֵּֽאלֹהִ֥ים נַעֲשֶׂה־חָ֑יִל וְ֝ה֗וּא יָב֥וּס צָרֵֽינוּ׃Ps 60:12
Through God we shall do valiantly,
for it is he who will tread down our adversaries.
