Ps 52:1
For the end, a Psalm of instruction by David, when Doec the Idumean came and told Saul, and said to him, David is gone to the house of Abimelech. Why dost thou, O mighty man, boast of iniquity in thy mischief? All the day

Ps 52:2Ps 52:2בְּב֤וֹא ׀ דּוֹאֵ֣ג הָאֲדֹמִי֮ וַיַּגֵּ֪ד לְשָׁ֫א֥וּל וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֑וֹ בָּ֥א דָ֝וִ֗ד אֶל־בֵּ֥ית אֲחִימֶֽלֶךְ׃2
3Ps 52:13τί ἐγκαυχᾷ ἐν κακίᾳ ὁ δυνατός ἀνομίαν ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν3
Ps 52:1
Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man?
God’s loving kindness endures continually.
Ps 52:3Ps 52:3מַה־תִּתְהַלֵּ֣ל בְּ֭רָעָה הַגִּבּ֑וֹר חֶ֥סֶד אֵ֝֗ל כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם׃Ps 52:1
Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man?
God’s loving kindness endures continually.
4Ps 52:24ἀδικίαν ἐλογίσατο ἡ γλῶσσά σου ὡσεὶ ξυρὸν ἠκονημένον ἐποίησας δόλονPs 52:2
thy tongue has devised unrighteousness; like a sharpened razor thou hast wrought deceit.
Ps 52:2
Your tongue plots destruction,
like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
Ps 52:4Ps 52:4הַ֭וּוֹת תַּחְשֹׁ֣ב לְשׁוֹנֶ֑ךָ כְּתַ֥עַר מְ֝לֻטָּ֗שׁ עֹשֵׂ֥ה רְמִיָּֽה׃Ps 52:2
Your tongue plots destruction,
like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
5Ps 52:35ἠγάπησας κακίαν ὑπὲρ ἀγαθωσύνην ἀδικίαν ὑπὲρ τὸ λαλῆσαι δικαιοσύνην διάψαλμαPs 52:3
Thou hast loved wickedness more than goodness; unrighteousness better than to speak righteousness. Pause.
Ps 52:3
You love evil more than good,
lying rather than speaking the truth.
Selah.
Ps 52:5Ps 52:5אָהַ֣בְתָּ רָּ֣ע מִטּ֑וֹב שֶׁ֓קֶר ׀ מִדַּבֵּ֖ר צֶ֣דֶק סֶֽלָה׃Ps 52:3
You love evil more than good,
lying rather than speaking the truth.

6Ps 52:46ἠγάπησας πάντα τὰ ῥήματα καταποντισμοῦ γλῶσσαν δολίανPs 52:4
Thou has loved all words of destruction, and a deceitful tongue.
Ps 52:4
You love all devouring words,
you deceitful tongue.
Ps 52:6Ps 52:6אָהַ֥בְתָּ כָֽל־דִּבְרֵי־בָ֗לַע לְשׁ֣וֹן מִרְמָֽה׃Ps 52:4
You love all devouring words,
you deceitful tongue.
7Ps 52:57διὰ τοῦτο ὁ θεὸς καθελεῖ σε εἰς τέλος ἐκτίλαι σε καὶ μεταναστεύσαι σε ἀπὸ σκηνώματος καὶ τὸ ῥίζωμά σου ἐκ γῆς ζώντων διάψαλμαPs 52:5
Therefore may God destroy thee for ever, may he pluck thee up and utterly remove thee from thy dwelling, and thy root from the land of the living. Pause.
Ps 52:5
God will likewise destroy you forever.
He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent,
and root you out of the land of the living.
Selah.
Ps 52:7Ps 52:7גַּם־אֵל֮ יִתָּצְךָ֪ לָ֫נֶ֥צַח יַחְתְּךָ֣ וְיִסָּחֲךָ֣ מֵאֹ֑הֶל וְשֵֽׁרֶשְׁךָ֨ מֵאֶ֖רֶץ חַיִּ֣ים סֶֽלָה׃Ps 52:5
God will likewise destroy you forever.
He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent,
and root you out of the land of the living.

8Ps 52:68καὶ ὄψονται δίκαιοι καὶ φοβηθήσονται καὶ ἐπ’ αὐτὸν γελάσονται καὶ ἐροῦσινPs 52:6
And the righteous shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him, and say,
Ps 52:6
The righteous also will see it, and fear,
and laugh at him, saying,
Ps 52:8Ps 52:8וְיִרְא֖וּ צַדִּיקִ֥ים וְיִירָ֗אוּ וְעָלָ֥יו יִשְׂחָֽקוּ׃Ps 52:6
The righteous also will see it, and fear,
and laugh at him, saying,
9Ps 52:79ἰδοὺ ἄνθρωπος ὃς οὐκ ἔθετο τὸν θεὸν βοηθὸν αὐτοῦ ἀλλ’ ἐπήλπισεν ἐπὶ τὸ πλῆθος τοῦ πλούτου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐδυναμώθη ἐπὶ τῇ ματαιότητι αὐτοῦPs 52:7
Behold the man who made not God his help; but trusted in the abundance of his wealth, and strengthened himself in his vanity.
Ps 52:7
“Behold, this is the man who didn’t make God his strength,
but trusted in the abundance of his riches,
and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
Ps 52:9Ps 52:9הִנֵּ֤ה הַגֶּ֗בֶר לֹ֤א יָשִׂ֥ים אֱלֹהִ֗ים מָֽע֫וּזּ֥וֹ וַ֭יִּבְטַח בְּרֹ֣ב עָשְׁר֑וֹ יָ֝עֹ֗ז בְּהַוָּתֽוֹ׃Ps 52:7
“Behold, this is the man who didn’t make God his strength,
but trusted in the abundance of his riches,
and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
10Ps 52:810ἐγὼ δὲ ὡσεὶ ἐλαία κατάκαρπος ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ θεοῦ ἤλπισα ἐπὶ τὸ ἔλεος τοῦ θεοῦ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τοῦ αἰῶνοςPs 52:8
But I am as a fruitful olive in the house of God: I have trusted in the mercy of God for ever, even for evermore.
Ps 52:8
But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house.
I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever.
Ps 52:10Ps 52:10וַאֲנִ֤י ׀ כְּזַ֣יִת רַ֭עֲנָן בְּבֵ֣ית אֱלֹהִ֑ים בָּטַ֥חְתִּי בְחֶֽסֶד־אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים עוֹלָ֥ם וָעֶֽד׃Ps 52:8
But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house.
I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever.
11Ps 52:911ἐξομολογήσομαί σοι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ὅτι ἐποίησας καὶ ὑπομενῶ τὸ ὄνομά σου ὅτι χρηστὸν ἐναντίον τῶν ὁσίων σουPs 52:9
I will give thanks to thee for ever, for thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before the saints.
Ps 52:9
I will give you thanks forever, because you have done it.
I will hope in your name, for it is good,
in the presence of your saints.
Ps 52:11Ps 52:11אוֹדְךָ֣ לְ֭עוֹלָם כִּ֣י עָשִׂ֑יתָ וַאֲקַוֶּ֖ה שִׁמְךָ֥ כִֽי־ט֝֗וֹב נֶ֣גֶד חֲסִידֶֽיךָ׃Ps 52:9
I will give you thanks forever, because you have done it.
I will hope in your name, for it is good,
in the presence of your saints.
