εἰς τὸ τέλος τῷ δούλῳ κυρίου τῷ Δαυιδ
Ps 36:1
For the end, by David the servant of the Lord. The transgressor, that he may sin, says within himself, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

2Ps 36:12φησὶν ὁ παράνομος τοῦ ἁμαρτάνειν ἐν ἑαυτῷ οὐκ ἔστιν φόβος θεοῦ ἀπέναντι τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτοῦ2
Ps 36:1
An oracle is within my heart about the disobedience of the wicked:
“There is no fear of God before his eyes.”
Ps 36:2Ps 36:2נְאֻֽם־פֶּ֣שַׁע לָ֭רָשָׁע בְּקֶ֣רֶב לִבִּ֑י אֵֽין־פַּ֥חַד אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים לְנֶ֣גֶד עֵינָֽיו׃Ps 36:1
An oracle is within my heart about the disobedience of the wicked:
“There is no fear of God before his eyes.”
3Ps 36:23ὅτι ἐδόλωσεν ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ τοῦ εὑρεῖν τὴν ἀνομίαν αὐτοῦ καὶ μισῆσαιPs 36:2
For he has dealt craftily before him, to discover his iniquity and hate it.
Ps 36:2
For he flatters himself in his own eyes,
too much to detect and hate his sin.
Ps 36:3Ps 36:3כִּֽי־הֶחֱלִ֣יק אֵלָ֣יו בְּעֵינָ֑יו לִמְצֹ֖א עֲוֹנ֣וֹ לִשְׂנֹֽא׃Ps 36:2
For he flatters himself in his own eyes,
too much to detect and hate his sin.
4Ps 36:34τὰ ῥήματα τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἀνομία καὶ δόλος οὐκ ἐβουλήθη συνιέναι τοῦ ἀγαθῦναιPs 36:3
The words of his mouth are transgression and deceit: he is not inclined to understand how to do good.
Ps 36:3
The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit.
He has ceased to be wise and to do good.
Ps 36:4Ps 36:4דִּבְרֵי־פִ֭יו אָ֣וֶן וּמִרְמָ֑ה חָדַ֖ל לְהַשְׂכִּ֣יל לְהֵיטִֽיב׃Ps 36:3
The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit.
He has ceased to be wise and to do good.
5Ps 36:45ἀνομίαν διελογίσατο ἐπὶ τῆς κοίτης αὐτοῦ παρέστη πάσῃ ὁδῷ οὐκ ἀγαθῇ τῇ δὲ κακίᾳ οὐ προσώχθισενPs 36:4
He devises iniquity on his bed; he gives himself to every evil way; and does not abhor evil.
Ps 36:4
He plots iniquity on his bed.
He sets himself in a way that is not good.
He doesn’t abhor evil.
Ps 36:5Ps 36:5אָ֤וֶן ׀ יַחְשֹׁ֗ב עַֽל־מִשְׁכָּ֫ב֥וֹ יִ֭תְיַצֵּב עַל־דֶּ֣רֶךְ לֹא־ט֑וֹב רָ֝֗ע לֹ֣א יִמְאָֽס׃Ps 36:4
He plots iniquity on his bed.
He sets himself in a way that is not good.
He doesn’t abhor evil.
6Ps 36:56κύριε ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ τὸ ἔλεός σου καὶ ἡ ἀλήθειά σου ἕως τῶν νεφελῶνPs 36:5
O Lord, thy mercy is in the heaven; and thy truth reaches to the clouds.
Ps 36:5
Your loving kindness, Yahweh, is in the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
Ps 36:6Ps 36:6יְ֭הוָה בְּהַשָּׁמַ֣יִם חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ אֱ֝מֽוּנָתְךָ֗ עַד־שְׁחָקִֽים׃Ps 36:5
Your loving kindness, Yahweh, is in the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
7Ps 36:67ἡ δικαιοσύνη σου ὡσεὶ ὄρη θεοῦ τὰ κρίματά σου ἄβυσσος πολλή ἀνθρώπους καὶ κτήνη σώσεις κύριεPs 36:6
Thy righteousness is as the mountains of God, thy judgments are as a great deep: O Lord, thou wilt preserve men and beasts.
Ps 36:6
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God.
Your judgments are like a great deep.
Yahweh, you preserve man and animal.
Ps 36:7Ps 36:7צִדְקָֽתְךָ֨ ׀ כְּֽהַרְרֵי־אֵ֗ל מִ֭שְׁפָּטֶךָ תְּה֣וֹם רַבָּ֑ה אָ֤דָֽם־וּבְהֵמָ֖ה תוֹשִׁ֣יעַ יְהוָֽה׃Ps 36:6
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God.
Your judgments are like a great deep.
Yahweh, you preserve man and animal.
8Ps 36:78ὡς ἐπλήθυνας τὸ ἔλεός σου ὁ θεός οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐν σκέπῃ τῶν πτερύγων σου ἐλπιοῦσινPs 36:7
How hast thou multiplied thy mercy, O God! so the children of men shall trust in the shelter of thy wings.
Ps 36:7
How precious is your loving kindness, God!
The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.
Ps 36:8Ps 36:8מַה־יָּקָ֥ר חַסְדְּךָ֗ אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים וּבְנֵ֥י אָדָ֑ם בְּצֵ֥ל כְּ֝נָפֶ֗יךָ יֶחֱסָיֽוּן׃Ps 36:7
How precious is your loving kindness, God!
The children of men take refuge under the shadow of your wings.
9Ps 36:89μεθυσθήσονται ἀπὸ πιότητος τοῦ οἴκου σου καὶ τὸν χειμάρρουν τῆς τρυφῆς σου ποτιεῖς αὐτούςPs 36:8
They shall be fully satisfied with the fatness of thine house; and thou shalt cause them to drink of the full stream of thy delights.
Ps 36:8
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house.
You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures.
Ps 36:9Ps 36:9יִ֭רְוְיֻן מִדֶּ֣שֶׁן בֵּיתֶ֑ךָ וְנַ֖חַל עֲדָנֶ֣יךָ תַשְׁקֵֽם׃Ps 36:8
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the abundance of your house.
You will make them drink of the river of your pleasures.
10Ps 36:910ὅτι παρὰ σοὶ πηγὴ ζωῆς ἐν τῷ φωτί σου ὀψόμεθα φῶςPs 36:9
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light we shall see light.
Ps 36:9
For with you is the spring of life.
In your light shall we see light.
Ps 36:10Ps 36:10כִּֽי־עִ֭מְּךָ מְק֣וֹר חַיִּ֑ים בְּ֝אוֹרְךָ֗ נִרְאֶה־אֽוֹר׃Ps 36:9
For with you is the spring of life.

11Ps 36:1011παράτεινον τὸ ἔλεός σου τοῖς γινώσκουσίν σε καὶ τὴν δικαιοσύνην σου τοῖς εὐθέσι τῇ καρδίᾳPs 36:10
Extend thy mercy to them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Ps 36:10
Oh continue your loving kindness to those who know you,
your righteousness to the upright in heart.

Don’t let the foot of pride come against me.
Don’t let the hand of the wicked drive me away.
13Ps 36:1213ἐκεῖ ἔπεσον οἱ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν ἀνομίαν ἐξώσθησαν καὶ οὐ μὴ δύνωνται στῆναιPs 36:12
There have all the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast out, and shall not be able to stand.
Ps 36:12
There the workers of iniquity are fallen.
They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
Ps 36:13Ps 36:13שָׁ֣ם נָ֭פְלוּ פֹּ֣עֲלֵי אָ֑וֶן דֹּ֝ח֗וּ וְלֹא־יָ֥כְלוּ קֽוּם׃Ps 36:12
There the workers of iniquity are fallen.
They are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.
