εἰς τὸ τέλος ὑπὲρ τῆς ὀγδόης ψαλμὸς τῷ Δαυιδ
Ps 12:1
For the end, A Psalm of David, upon the eighth. Save me, O Lord; for the godly man has failed; for truth is diminished from among the children of men.
Ps 12:0
¶For the Chief Musician; upon an eight-stringed lyre. A Psalm of David.

2Ps 12:12σῶσόν με κύριε ὅτι ἐκλέλοιπεν ὅσιος ὅτι ὠλιγώθησαν αἱ ἀλήθειαι ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν τῶν ἀνθρώπων2
Ps 12:1
Help, Yahweh; for the godly man ceases.
For the faithful fail from among the children of men.
Ps 12:2Ps 12:2הוֹשִׁ֣יעָה יְ֭הוָה כִּי־גָמַ֣ר חָסִ֑יד כִּי־פַ֥סּוּ אֱ֝מוּנִ֗ים מִבְּנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃Ps 12:1
Help, Yahweh; for the godly man ceases.
For the faithful fail from among the children of men.
3Ps 12:23μάταια ἐλάλησεν ἕκαστος πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ χείλη δόλια ἐν καρδίᾳ καὶ ἐν καρδίᾳ ἐλάλησανPs 12:2
Every one has spoken vanity to his neighbour: their lips are deceitful, they have spoken with a double heart.
Ps 12:2
Everyone lies to his neighbor.
They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.
Ps 12:3Ps 12:3שָׁ֤וְא ׀ יְֽדַבְּרוּ֮ אִ֤ישׁ אֶת־רֵ֫עֵ֥הוּ שְׂפַ֥ת חֲלָק֑וֹת בְּלֵ֖ב וָלֵ֣ב יְדַבֵּֽרוּ׃Ps 12:2
Everyone lies to his neighbor.
They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.
4Ps 12:34ἐξολεθρεύσαι κύριος πάντα τὰ χείλη τὰ δόλια καὶ γλῶσσαν μεγαλορήμοναPs 12:3
Let the Lord destroy all the deceitful lips, and the tongue that speaks great words:
Ps 12:3
May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips,
and the tongue that boasts,
Ps 12:4Ps 12:4יַכְרֵ֣ת יְ֭הוָה כָּל־שִׂפְתֵ֣י חֲלָק֑וֹת לָ֝שׁ֗וֹן מְדַבֶּ֥רֶת גְּדֹלֽוֹת׃Ps 12:3
May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips,
and the tongue that boasts,
5Ps 12:45τοὺς εἰπόντας τὴν γλῶσσαν ἡμῶν μεγαλυνοῦμεν τὰ χείλη ἡμῶν παρ’ ἡμῶν ἐστιν τίς ἡμῶν κύριός ἐστινPs 12:4
who have said, We will magnify our tongue; our lips are our own: who is Lord of us?
Ps 12:4
who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail.
Our lips are our own.
Who is lord over us?”
Ps 12:5Ps 12:5אֲשֶׁ֤ר אָֽמְר֨וּ ׀ לִלְשֹׁנֵ֣נוּ נַ֭גְבִּיר שְׂפָתֵ֣ינוּ אִתָּ֑נוּ מִ֖י אָד֣וֹן לָֽנוּ׃Ps 12:4
who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail.
Our lips are our own.
Who is lord over us?”
6Ps 12:56ἀπὸ τῆς ταλαιπωρίας τῶν πτωχῶν καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ στεναγμοῦ τῶν πενήτων νῦν ἀναστήσομαι λέγει κύριος θήσομαι ἐν σωτηρίᾳ παρρησιάσομαι ἐν αὐτῷPs 12:5
Because of the misery of the poor, and because of the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the Lord, I will set them in safety; I will speak to them thereof openly.
Ps 12:5
“Because of the oppression of the weak and because of the groaning of the needy,
I will now arise,” says Yahweh;
“I will set him in safety from those who malign him.”
Ps 12:6Ps 12:6מִשֹּׁ֥ד עֲנִיִּים֮ מֵאַנְקַ֪ת אֶבְי֫וֹנִ֥ים עַתָּ֣ה אָ֭קוּם יֹאמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה אָשִׁ֥ית בְּ֝יֵ֗שַׁע יָפִ֥יחַֽ לֽוֹ׃Ps 12:5

7Ps 12:67τὰ λόγια κυρίου λόγια ἁγνά ἀργύριον πεπυρωμένον δοκίμιον τῇ γῇ κεκαθαρισμένον ἑπταπλασίωςPs 12:6
The oracles of the Lord are pure oracles; as silver tried in the fire, proved in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

The words of Yahweh are flawless words,
as silver refined in a clay furnace, purified seven times.The utterances of The Lord are pure utterances; as silver having been burned for the testing by the land having been purified sevenfold.

The words of Yahweh are flawless words,

8Ps 12:78σύ κύριε φυλάξεις ἡμᾶς καὶ διατηρήσεις ἡμᾶς ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης καὶ εἰς τὸν αἰῶναPs 12:7
Thou, O Lord, shalt keep us, and shalt preserve us, from this generation, and for ever.
Ps 12:7
You will keep them, Yahweh.
You will preserve them from this generation forever.
Ps 12:8Ps 12:8אַתָּֽה־יְהוָ֥ה תִּשְׁמְרֵ֑ם תִּצְּרֶ֓נּוּ ׀ מִן־הַדּ֖וֹר ז֣וּ לְעוֹלָֽם׃Ps 12:7
You will keep them, Yahweh.
You will preserve them from this generation forever.
9Ps 12:89κύκλῳ οἱ ἀσεβεῖς περιπατοῦσιν κατὰ τὸ ὕψος σου ἐπολυώρησας τοὺς υἱοὺς τῶν ἀνθρώπωνPs 12:8
The ungodly walk around: according to thy greatness thou has greatly exalted the sons of men.
Ps 12:8
The wicked walk on every side,
when what is vile is exalted among the sons of men.
Ps 12:9Ps 12:9סָבִ֗יב רְשָׁעִ֥ים יִתְהַלָּכ֑וּן כְּרֻ֥ם זֻ֝לּ֗וּת לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם׃Ps 12:8
The wicked walk on every side,
when what is vile is exalted among the sons of men.
