¶“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
2Is 40:22ἱερεῖς λαλήσατε εἰς τὴν καρδίαν Ιερουσαλημ παρακαλέσατε αὐτήν ὅτι ἐπλήσθη ἡ ταπείνωσις αὐτῆς λέλυται αὐτῆς ἡ ἁμαρτία ὅτι ἐδέξατο ἐκ χειρὸς κυρίου διπλᾶ τὰ ἁμαρτήματα αὐτῆςIs 40:2
Speak, ye priests, to the heart of Jerusalem; comfort her, for her humiliation is accomplished, her sin is put away: for she has received of the Lord's hand double the amount of her sins.
Is 40:2“Speak comfortably to Jerusalem; and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins.”
Priests, speak to the heart of Jerousalem, entreat her because her abasement was filled to capacity, her sin has been released because she received from the hand of The Lord double her sins.

The voice of one who calls out,

4Is 40:44πᾶσα φάραγξ πληρωθήσεται καὶ πᾶν ὄρος καὶ βουνὸς ταπεινωθήσεται καὶ ἔσται πάντα τὰ σκολιὰ εἰς εὐθεῖαν καὶ ἡ τραχεῖα εἰς πεδίαIs 40:4
Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low: and all the crooked ways shall become straight, and the rough places plains.
Is 40:4
Every valley shall be exalted,
and every mountain and hill shall be made low.
The uneven shall be made level,
and the rough places a plain.
Every valley will be filled and every mountain and hill will be lowered and all the crooked ways will be made straight, and every rough spot flat.

Is 40:4Is 40:4כָּל־גֶּיא֙ יִנָּשֵׂ֔א וְכָל־הַ֥ר וְגִבְעָ֖ה יִשְׁפָּ֑לוּ וְהָיָ֤ה הֶֽעָקֹב֙ לְמִישׁ֔וֹר וְהָרְכָסִ֖ים לְבִקְעָֽה׃Is 40:4
Every valley shall be exalted,

5Is 40:55καὶ ὀφθήσεται ἡ δόξα κυρίου καὶ ὄψεται πᾶσα σὰρξ τὸ σωτήριον τοῦ θεοῦ ὅτι κύριος ἐλάλησενIs 40:5
And the glory of the Lord shall appear, and all flesh shall see the salvation of God: for the Lord has spoken it.
Is 40:5
The glory of Yahweh shall be revealed,
and all flesh shall see it together;
for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.”
¶And the glory of Lord will be seen and flesh will see God's salvation because Lord has spoken

9Is 40:99ἐπ’ ὄρος ὑψηλὸν ἀνάβηθι ὁ εὐαγγελιζόμενος Σιων ὕψωσον τῇ ἰσχύι τὴν φωνήν σου ὁ εὐαγγελιζόμενος Ιερουσαλημ ὑψώσατε μὴ φοβεῖσθε εἰπὸν ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα ἰδοὺ ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶνIs 40:9
O thou that bringest glad tidings to Zion, go up on the high mountain; lift up thy voice with strength, thou that bringest glad tidings to Jerusalem; lift it up, fear not; say unto the cities of Juda, Behold your God!

You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain.
You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength.
Lift it up. Don’t be afraid.
Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!
¶Ascend upon a high mountain bringer of good news to Zion, raise your voice with strength, bringer of good news to Jerusalem. Lift it up, do not fear not say to the city of Judah, "Behold your God."

10Is 40:1010ἰδοὺ κύριος μετὰ ἰσχύος ἔρχεται καὶ ὁ βραχίων μετὰ κυριείας ἰδοὺ ὁ μισθὸς αὐτοῦ μετ’ αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸ ἔργον ἐναντίον αὐτοῦIs 40:10
Behold the Lord! The Lord is coming with strength, and his arm is with power: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one,
and his arm will rule for him.
Behold, his reward is with him,
and his recompense before him.
Look, Lord with strength comes and with arm with power. Look his payment is with him and his work infrount of him.

He shall tend his flock as a shepherd, and he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and shall soothe them that are with young.
Is 40:11
He will feed his flock like a shepherd.
He will gather the lambs in his arm,
and carry them in his bosom.
He will gently lead those who have their young.
Like a shepherd shepherding his flock and gathers lambs in his arm and in womb having he will comforted.

Who has measured the water in his hand, and the heaven with a span, and all the earth in a handful? Who has weighed the mountains in scales, and the forests in a balance?

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
and marked off the sky with his span,
and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure,
and weighed the mountains in scales,
and the hills in a balance?
Who has measured in his hand all the earth? Who put the mountains in balance and the valleys on a scale?

Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket,
and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance.
Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.
If all the nations are is reckoned as a drop of water from a bucket and like a yoked scale and the will be reckoned like spit.

Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket,

And Libanus is not enough to burn, nor all beasts enough for a whole-burnt offering:

Lebanon is not sufficient to burn,
nor and all the four footed are not its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.

19Is 40:1919μὴ εἰκόνα ἐποίησεν τέκτων ἢ χρυσοχόος χωνεύσας χρυσίον περιεχρύσωσεν αὐτόν ὁμοίωμα κατεσκεύασεν αὐτόνIs 40:19
Has not the artificer made an image, or the goldsmith having melted gold, gilt it over, and made it a similitude?
Is 40:19
A workman has cast an image,
and the goldsmith overlays it with gold,
and casts silver chains for it.
No carpenter has made his idol, nor goldsmith after smelting a piece of gold has gilded him, Or constructed his likeness

Is 40:19Is 40:19הַפֶּ֙סֶל֙ נָסַ֣ךְ חָרָ֔שׁ וְצֹרֵ֖ף בַּזָּהָ֣ב יְרַקְּעֶ֑נּוּ וּרְתֻק֥וֹת כֶּ֖סֶף צוֹרֵֽף׃Is 40:19
A workman has cast an image,
and the goldsmith overlays it with gold,
and casts silver chains for it.
20Is 40:2020ξύλον γὰρ ἄσηπτον ἐκλέγεται τέκτων καὶ σοφῶς ζητεῖ πῶς στήσει αὐτοῦ εἰκόνα καὶ ἵνα μὴ σαλεύηταιIs 40:20
For the artificer chooses out a wood that will not rot, and will wisely enquire how he shall set up his image, and that so that it should not be moved.
Is 40:20
He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot.
He seeks a skillful workman to set up an engraved image for him that will not be moved.
For the carpenter selected hard wood and sought wisely to make his image stand so as not to shake

22Is 40:2222ὁ κατέχων τὸν γῦρον τῆς γῆς καὶ οἱ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐν αὐτῇ ὡς ἀκρίδες ὁ στήσας ὡς καμάραν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ διατείνας ὡς σκηνὴν κατοικεῖνIs 40:22
It is he that comprehends the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants in it are as grasshoppers; he that set up the heaven as a chamber, and stretched it out as a tent to dwell in:
Is 40:22
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in;
(He) is the one who holds fast the circle of the earth, and her inhabitants like locusts. (He) is the one who set up like the cover of the sky and streatched it out as a tent to reside in.

It is he who sits above the circle of the earth,
and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;
who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in;
23Is 40:2323ὁ διδοὺς ἄρχοντας εἰς οὐδὲν ἄρχειν τὴν δὲ γῆν ὡς οὐδὲν ἐποίησενIs 40:23
he that appoints princes to rule as nothing, and has made the earth as nothing.

who brings princes to nothing;
who makes the judges of the earth like meaningless.
(He)is the one who makes rulers to rule for nothing, the he made the earth as nothing.

For they shall not plant, neither shall they sow, neither shall their root be fixed in the ground: he has blown upon them, and they are withered, and a storm shall carry them away like sticks.

He merely blows on them, and they wither,
and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
For they will not sow, nor plant nor take root in the earth the root he shall blow upon them and they will withere and a squall will take them up like dry sticks.

Lift up your eyes on high, and see, who has displayed all these things? even he that brings forth his host by number: he shall call them all by name by means of his great glory, and by the power of his might: nothing has escaped thee.

and see, who has created all this these,
who brings out their army by number.
He calls them all by name.
by the greatness of his might,
and because he is strong in power,
Not one is lacking.
The one who carries out by number his hoast and calls all by name from the great glory and in the might of his strength nothing has escaped notice of you.

For say not thou, O Jacob, and why hast thou spoken, Israel, saying, My way is hid from God, and my God has taken away my judgement, and has departed?

“My way is hidden from Yahweh,
and the justice due me is disregarded by my God?”
So Jacob do say, not and why do you say, Israel has been hidden "my road from God, and my God has taken away judgement and removed it.

And now, hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? the eternal God, the God that formed the ends of the earth, shall not hunger, nor be weary, and there is no searching of his understanding.

His understanding is unsearchable.
And now have you known have you not heard? Not God the eternal God who furneshed the apex of the earth will hunger not nor grow tired nor the discovery of his wisdom.

They will mount up with wings like eagles.
They will run, and not be weary.
They will walk, and not faint.
Those who wait upon God will renew their strength and they will sprout wings like eagles, they will run and will grow weary, they will not walk and will not be hungry.
