2Jb 6:22ל֗וּ שָׁק֣וֹל יִשָּׁקֵ֣ל כַּעְשִׂ֑י ‏{ והיתי וְ֝הַוָּתִ֗י }‏ בְּֽמֹאזְנַ֥יִם יִשְׂאוּ־יָֽחַד׃

Jb 6:2
“Oh that my anguish were weighed,
and all my calamity laid in the balances!
Jb 6:2Jb 6:2εἰ γάρ τις ἱστῶν στήσαι μου τὴν ὀργήν τὰς δὲ ὀδύνας μου ἄραι ἐν ζυγῷ ὁμοθυμαδόνJb 6:2
Oh that one would indeed weigh the wrath that is upon me, and take up my griefs in a balance together!

3Jb 6:33כִּֽי־עַתָּ֗ה מֵח֣וֹל יַמִּ֣ים יִכְבָּ֑ד עַל־כֵּ֝֗ן דְּבָרַ֥י לָֽעוּ׃Jb 6:3
For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas,
therefore have my words been rash.
Jb 6:3Jb 6:3καὶ δὴ ἄμμου παραλίας βαρυτέρα ἔσται ἀλλ’ ὡς ἔοικεν τὰ ῥήματά μού ἐστιν φαῦλαJb 6:3
And verily they would be heavier than the sand by the seashore: but, as it seems, my words are vain.

For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas,
therefore have but, as it seems, my words been are rash.

4Jb 6:44כִּ֤י חִצֵּ֪י שַׁדַּ֡י עִמָּדִ֗י אֲשֶׁ֣ר חֲ֭מָתָם שֹׁתָ֣ה רוּחִ֑י בִּעוּתֵ֖י אֱל֣וֹהַּ יַֽעַרְכֽוּנִי׃Jb 6:4
For the arrows of the Almighty are within me.

The terrors of God set themselves in array against me.

For the arrows of the Lord are in my body, whose violence drinks up my blood: whenever I am going to speak, they pierce me.

Does the wild donkey bray when he has grass?
Or does the ox low over his fodder?
Jb 6:5Jb 6:5τί γάρ μὴ διὰ κενῆς κεκράξεται ὄνος ἄγριος ἀλλ’ ἢ τὰ σῖτα ζητῶν εἰ δὲ καὶ ῥήξει φωνὴν βοῦς ἐπὶ φάτνης ἔχων τὰ βρώματαJb 6:5
What then? will the wild ass bray for nothing, if he is not seeking food? or again, will the ox low at the manger, when he has a fodder?

Can that which has no flavor be eaten without salt?
Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
Jb 6:6Jb 6:6εἰ βρωθήσεται ἄρτος ἄνευ ἁλός εἰ δὲ καὶ ἔστιν γεῦμα ἐν ῥήμασιν κενοῖςJb 6:6
Shall bread be eaten without salt? or again, is there taste in empty words?
Jb 6:6
Can that which has no flavor be eaten without salt?
Or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
7Jb 6:77מֵאֲנָ֣ה לִנְגּ֣וֹעַ נַפְשִׁ֑י הֵ֝֗מָּה כִּדְוֵ֥י לַחְמִֽי׃Jb 6:7
My soul refuses to touch them.
They are as loathsome food to me.
Jb 6:7Jb 6:7οὐ δύναται γὰρ παύσασθαί μου ἡ ψυχή βρόμον γὰρ ὁρῶ τὰ σῖτά μου ὥσπερ ὀσμὴν λέοντοςJb 6:7
For my wrath cannot cease; for I perceive my food as the smell of a lion to be loathsome.
Jb 6:7
My soul refuses to touch them.

8Jb 6:88מִֽי־יִ֭תֵּן תָּב֣וֹא שֶֽׁאֱלָתִ֑י וְ֝תִקְוָתִ֗י יִתֵּ֥ן אֱלֽוֹהַּ׃Jb 6:8
“Oh that I might have my request,
that God would grant the thing that I long for,
Jb 6:8Jb 6:8εἰ γὰρ δῴη καὶ ἔλθοι μου ἡ αἴτησις καὶ τὴν ἐλπίδα μου δῴη ὁ κύριοςJb 6:8
For oh that he would grant my desire, and my petition might come, and the Lord would grant my hope!

“Oh that I might have my request,
that God would grant the thing that I long for,
9Jb 6:99וְיֹאֵ֣ל אֱ֭לוֹהַּ וִֽידַכְּאֵ֑נִי יַתֵּ֥ר יָ֝ד֗וֹ וִֽיבַצְּעֵֽנִי׃Jb 6:9
even that it would please God to crush me;
that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
Jb 6:9Jb 6:9ἀρξάμενος ὁ κύριος τρωσάτω με εἰς τέλος δὲ μή με ἀνελέτωJb 6:9
Let the Lord begin and wound me, but let him not utterly destroy me.

10Jb 6:1010וּ֥תְהִי ע֨וֹד ׀ נֶ֘חָ֤מָתִ֗י וַאֲסַלְּדָ֣ה בְ֭חִילָה לֹ֣א יַחְמ֑וֹל כִּי־לֹ֥א כִ֝חַ֗דְתִּי אִמְרֵ֥י קָדֽוֹשׁ׃Jb 6:10
Be it still my consolation,
yes, let me exult in pain that doesn’t spare,
that I have not denied the words of the Holy One.

Let the grave be my city, upon the walls of which I have leaped: I will not shrink from it; for I have not denied the holy words of my God.

Be it still my consolation,

11Jb 6:1111מַה־כֹּחִ֥י כִֽי־אֲיַחֵ֑ל וּמַה־קִּ֝צִּ֗י כִּֽי־אַאֲרִ֥יךְ נַפְשִֽׁי׃Jb 6:11
What is my strength, that I should wait?
What is my end, that I should be patient?
Jb 6:11Jb 6:11τίς γάρ μου ἡ ἰσχύς ὅτι ὑπομένω ἢ τίς μου ὁ χρόνος ὅτι ἀνέχεταί μου ἡ ψυχήJb 6:11
For what is my strength, that I continue? what is my time, that my soul endures?

What is my strength, that I should wait?
What is my end, that I should be patient?
12Jb 6:1212אִם־כֹּ֣חַ אֲבָנִ֣ים כֹּחִ֑י אִֽם־בְּשָׂרִ֥י נָחֽוּשׁ׃Jb 6:12
Is my strength the strength of stones?
Or is my flesh of brass?
Jb 6:12Jb 6:12μὴ ἰσχὺς λίθων ἡ ἰσχύς μου ἢ αἱ σάρκες μού εἰσιν χάλκειαιJb 6:12

13Jb 6:1313הַאִ֬ם אֵ֣ין עֶזְרָתִ֣י בִ֑י וְ֝תֻשִׁיָּ֗ה נִדְּחָ֥ה מִמֶּֽנִּי׃Jb 6:13
Isn’t it that I have no help in me,
That wisdom is driven quite from me?
Jb 6:13Jb 6:13ἦ οὐκ ἐπ’ αὐτῷ ἐπεποίθειν βοήθεια δὲ ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ ἄπεστινJb 6:13
Or have I not trusted in him? but help is far from me.

Isn’t it that I have no help in me,

14Jb 6:1414לַמָּ֣ס מֵרֵעֵ֣הוּ חָ֑סֶד וְיִרְאַ֖ת שַׁדַּ֣י יַעֲזֽוֹב׃Jb 6:14
“To him who is ready to faint, kindness should be shown from his friend;
even to him who forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
Jb 6:14Jb 6:14ἀπείπατό με ἔλεος ἐπισκοπὴ δὲ κυρίου ὑπερεῖδέν μεJb 6:14
Mercy has rejected me; and the visitation of the Lord has disregarded me.

“To him who is ready to faint, kindness should be shown from his friend;
even to him who forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
15Jb 6:1515אַ֭חַי בָּגְד֣וּ כְמוֹ־נָ֑חַל כַּאֲפִ֖יק נְחָלִ֣ים יַעֲבֹֽרוּ׃Jb 6:15
My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook,
as the channel of brooks that pass away;
Jb 6:15Jb 6:15οὐ προσεῖδόν με οἱ ἐγγύτατοί μου ὥσπερ χειμάρρους ἐκλείπων ἢ ὥσπερ κῦμα παρῆλθόν μεJb 6:15
My nearest relations have not regarded me; they have passed me by like a failing brook, or like a wave.

My brothers have dealt deceitfully as a brook,
as the channel of brooks that pass away;
16Jb 6:1616הַקֹּדְרִ֥ים מִנִּי־קָ֑רַח עָ֝לֵ֗ימוֹ יִתְעַלֶּם־שָֽׁלֶג׃Jb 6:16
Which are black by reason of the ice,
in which the snow hides itself.
Jb 6:16Jb 6:16οἵτινές με διευλαβοῦντο νῦν ἐπιπεπτώκασίν μοι ὥσπερ χιὼν ἢ κρύσταλλος πεπηγώςJb 6:16
They who used to reverence me, now have come against me like snow or congealed ice.

Which are black by reason of the ice,
in which the snow hides itself.
17Jb 6:1717בְּ֭עֵת יְזֹרְב֣וּ נִצְמָ֑תוּ בְּ֝חֻמּ֗וֹ נִדְעֲכ֥וּ מִמְּקוֹמָֽם׃Jb 6:17
In the dry season, they vanish.
When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
Jb 6:17Jb 6:17καθὼς τακεῖσα θέρμης γενομένης οὐκ ἐπεγνώσθη ὅπερ ἦνJb 6:17
When it has melted at the approach of heat, it is not known what it was.

In the dry season, they vanish.
When it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
18Jb 6:1818יִ֭לָּ֣פְתוּ אָרְח֣וֹת דַּרְכָּ֑ם יַעֲל֖וּ בַתֹּ֣הוּ וְיֹאבֵֽדוּ׃Jb 6:18
The caravans that travel beside them turn aside.
They go up into the waste, and perish.
Jb 6:18Jb 6:18οὕτως κἀγὼ κατελείφθην ὑπὸ πάντων ἀπωλόμην δὲ καὶ ἔξοικος ἐγενόμηνJb 6:18
Thus I also have been deserted of all; and I am ruined, and become an outcast.

Jb 6:19Jb 6:19ἴδετε ὁδοὺς Θαιμανων ἀτραποὺς Σαβων οἱ διορῶντεςJb 6:19
Behold the ways of the Thaemanites, ye that mark the paths of the Sabaeans.

They were distressed because they were confident.
They came there, and were confounded.
Jb 6:20Jb 6:20καὶ αἰσχύνην ὀφειλήσουσιν οἱ ἐπὶ πόλεσιν καὶ χρήμασιν πεποιθότεςJb 6:20
They too that trust in cities and riches shall come to shame.
Jb 6:20

For now you are nothing.
You see a terror, and are afraid.
Jb 6:21Jb 6:21ἀτὰρ δὲ καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐπέβητέ μοι ἀνελεημόνως ὥστε ἰδόντες τὸ ἐμὸν τραῦμα φοβήθητεJb 6:21
But ye also have come to me without pity; so that beholding my wound ye are afraid.
Jb 6:21
For now you are nothing.

22Jb 6:2222הֲ‍ֽכִי־אָ֭מַרְתִּי הָ֣בוּ לִ֑י וּ֝מִכֹּחֲכֶ֗ם שִׁחֲד֥וּ בַעֲדִֽי׃Jb 6:22
Did I say, ‘Give to me?’
or, ‘Offer a present for me from your substance?’

What? have I made any demand of you? or do I ask for strength from you,

23Jb 6:2323וּמַלְּט֥וּנִי מִיַּד־צָ֑ר וּמִיַּ֖ד עָרִיצִ֣ים תִּפְדּֽוּנִי׃Jb 6:23
or, ‘Deliver me from the adversary’s hand?’
or, ‘Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?’

Teach ye me, and I will be silent: if in anything I have erred, tell me.

25Jb 6:2525מַה־נִּמְרְצ֥וּ אִמְרֵי־יֹ֑שֶׁר וּמַה־יּוֹכִ֖יחַ הוֹכֵ֣חַ מִכֶּֽם׃Jb 6:25
How forcible are words of uprightness!
But your reproof, what does it reprove?
Jb 6:25Jb 6:25ἀλλ’ ὡς ἔοικεν φαῦλα ἀληθινοῦ ῥήματα οὐ γὰρ παρ’ ὑμῶν ἰσχὺν αἰτοῦμαιJb 6:25
But as it seems, the words of a true man are vain, because I do not ask strength of you.

Do you intend to reprove words,
since the speeches of one who is desperate are as wind?
Jb 6:26Jb 6:26οὐδὲ ὁ ἔλεγχος ὑμῶν ῥήμασίν με παύσει οὐδὲ γὰρ ὑμῶν φθέγμα ῥήματος ἀνέξομαιJb 6:26
Neither will your reproof cause me to cease my words, for neither will I endure the sound of your speech.

Even because ye attack the fatherless, and insult your friend.

Now therefore be pleased to look at me,
for surely I shall not lie to your face.

But now, having looked upon your countenances, I will not lie.
