Ten Virgins

Mt25:1“Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom.

Mt25:2Five of them were foolish, and five were wise prudent.

Mt25:4but the wise prudent took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

Mt25:6But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’

Mt25:7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

Mt25:8The foolish said to the wise prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’

Mt25:9But the wise prudent answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

I Don't Know You

Mt25:10Ἀπερχομένων δὲ αὐτῶν ἀγοράσαι, ἦλθεν ὁ νυμφίος· καὶ αἱ ἕτοιμοι εἰσῆλθον μετ’ αὐτοῦ εἰς τοὺς γάμους, καὶ ἐκλείσθη ἡ θύρα.Lk13:25Ἀφ’ οὗ ἂν ἐγερθῇ ὁ οἰκοδεσπότης καὶ ἀποκλείσῃ τὴν θύραν, καὶ ἄρξησθε ἔξω ἑστάναι καὶ κρούειν τὴν θύραν, λέγοντες, { Κύριε, κύριε ♦ Κύριε }, ἄνοιξον ἡμῖν· καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ἐρεῖ ὑμῖν, Οὐκ οἶδα ὑμᾶς, πόθεν ἐστέ·

Mt25:10While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.Lk13:25When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
Mt25:11Ὕστερον δὲ ἔρχονται καὶ αἱ λοιπαὶ παρθένοι, λέγουσαι, Κύριε, κύριε, ἄνοιξον ἡμῖν.Mt25:11Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to up for us.’
Mt25:12Ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν, Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐκ οἶδα ὑμᾶς.Mt25:12But he answered, ‘Most certainly Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

You Don't Know the Hour or the Day

Mt25:13Γρηγορεῖτε οὖν, ὅτι οὐκ οἴδατε τὴν ἡμέραν οὐδὲ τὴν ὥραν, { ἐν ᾗ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἔρχεται ♦ - }.

The Talents and Minas

Lk19:11¶Ἀκουόντων δὲ αὐτῶν ταῦτα, προσθεὶς εἶπεν παραβολήν, διὰ τὸ ἐγγὺς { αὐτὸν εἶναι Ἱερουσαλήμ ♦ εἶναι Ἰερουσαλὴμ αὐτὸν }, καὶ δοκεῖν αὐτοὺς ὅτι παραχρῆμα μέλλει ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἀναφαίνεσθαι.

Lk19:11¶As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that the Kingdom of God would be revealed immediately.

Mt25:26“But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. Mt25:31“But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.

Mt25:32Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Mt25:33καὶ στήσει τὰ μὲν πρόβατα ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ, τὰ δὲ ἐρίφια ἐξ εὐωνύμων.Mt25:33He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

To Those on the Right

Mt25:34Τότε ἐρεῖ ὁ βασιλεὺς τοῖς ἐκ δεξιῶν αὐτοῦ, Δεῦτε, οἱ εὐλογημένοι τοῦ πατρός μου, κληρονομήσατε τὴν ἡτοιμασμένην ὑμῖν βασιλείαν ἀπὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου.Mt25:34Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the worldª;
a απο καταβολης κοσμου FROM the foundation of the world (Rev 13:8, Luke 11:50) IS VERY DIFFERENT than προ καταβολης κοσμου BEFORE the foundation of the world, which always UNIQUELY referes to Jesus Christ (Eph 1:14, John 17:24, 1Pet1:20)
Mt25:35Ἐπείνασα γάρ, καὶ ἐδώκατέ μοι φαγεῖν· ἐδίψησα, καὶ ἐποτίσατέ με· ξένος ἤμην, καὶ συνηγάγετέ με·Mt25:35for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.
Mt25:36γυμνός, καὶ περιεβάλετέ με· ἠσθένησα, καὶ ἐπεσκέψασθέ με· ἐν φυλακῇ ἤμην, καὶ { ἤλθετε ♦ ἤλθατε } πρός με.

Mt25:36I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

Mt25:38Πότε δέ σε εἴδομεν ξένον, καὶ συνηγάγομεν; Ἢ γυμνόν, καὶ περιεβάλομεν;Mt25:38When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?
Mt25:39Πότε δέ σε εἴδομεν { ἀσθενῆ ♦ ἀσθενοῦντα }, ἢ ἐν φυλακῇ, καὶ ἤλθομεν πρός σε;

Mt25:39When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’
Mt25:40Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐρεῖ αὐτοῖς, Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἐφ’ ὅσον ἐποιήσατε ἑνὶ τούτων τῶν ἀδελφῶν μου τῶν ἐλαχίστων, ἐμοὶ ἐποιήσατε.Mt25:40“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

To Those on the Left

Mt25:41Τότε ἐρεῖ καὶ τοῖς ἐξ εὐωνύμων, Πορεύεσθε ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ, { οἱ ♦ [οἱ] } κατηραμένοι, εἰς τὸ πῦρ τὸ αἰώνιον, τὸ ἡτοιμασμένον τῷ διαβόλῳ καὶ τοῖς ἀγγέλοις αὐτοῦ.

Mt25:41Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the perpetualeternal fire which is prepared for the slandererdevil and his angels;

Mt25:44Τότε ἀποκριθήσονται καὶ αὐτοί, λέγοντες, Κύριε, πότε σὲ εἴδομεν πεινῶντα, ἢ διψῶντα, ἢ ξένον, ἢ γυμνόν, ἢ ἀσθενῆ, ἢ ἐν φυλακῇ, καὶ οὐ διηκονήσαμέν σοι;Mt25:44“Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t helpserveᵃ you?’
a διηκονησαμεν: to serve, also translated as "minister" in noun of Matthew 20:26 and to serve in 20:28.
Mt25:45Τότε ἀποκριθήσεται αὐτοῖς, λέγων, Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἐφ’ ὅσον οὐκ ἐποιήσατε ἑνὶ τούτων τῶν ἐλαχίστων, οὐδὲ ἐμοὶ ἐποιήσατε.Mt25:45“Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’
Mt25:46Καὶ ἀπελεύσονται οὗτοι εἰς κόλασιν αἰώνιον· οἱ δὲ δίκαιοι εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον.Mt25:46These will go away into indefinite chastisementeternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal lifeaeonian life.”
