The Harvest Is Indeed Plentiful

Mt9:37Τότε λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, Ὁ μὲν θερισμὸς πολύς, οἱ δὲ ἐργάται ὀλίγοι·(Lk 10:2a)Mt9:37Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few.(Lk 10:2a)
Mt9:38δεήθητε οὖν τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ θερισμοῦ, ὅπως ἐκβάλῃ ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ.(Lk 10:2b)Mt9:38Pray[a] therefore that the Lord of the harvest will send out laborers into his harvest.”
———
a If we are to pray for laborers, then we are to likewise be laborers. The prayer is not for the Lord to send out someone else, but to send us help.
(Lk 10:2b)
