a The false witness is reflected in the verb tenses Jesus uses to describe (prophesy) what will happen to the temple.. both of His body (Jn 2:19) and the stone temple (Matt:24:2). In John 2:19 He is referring to His body and Jesus uses the 2person plural 1aorist active imperative: "YOU tear down this temple and in three days I will raise it" "λυσατε τον ναον" and in Matt 24:2 "oυ μη αφεθη ωδε λιθος επι λιθον ος ου καταλυθησεται" He uses a future θυ ind 3rd sing "there shall not be left here one stone upon another which will not be destroyed" In no case is Jesus claiming that HE will be the one tearing down the temple.

a Re:Mt 24:2 and John 2:29 the verbs here are different. when Jesus says He will "tear down the temple" in John 2, the verb is λυω (to loose or unbind) "λυσατε τον ναον" unbind this temple "oυ μη αφεθη ωδε λιθος επι λιθον ος ου καταλυθησεται" there shall not be dismissed here one stone upon another which will not be destroyed
