Either ἅγιον is substantive and κοσμικόν predicative (the holy [place is] earthly) or κοσμικόν is substantive and ἅγιον attributive (the sanctified earthly [things]). Most translations assume the former; but such a translation seems a non-sequitur, so instead kosmicon is assumed here to be refering to list of items in 9:2-4, what are called in LXX Ex. 39:21 all the instruments of the work of the tabernacle of witness (πάντα τὰ ἐργαλεῖα τὰ εἰς τὰ ἔργα τῆς σκηνῆς τοῦ μαρτυρίου), which are sanctified and made holy in Ex. 30:26-29; 40:9-11 .
